think about it, for a tough guy sport, how often these dudes break down and cry in the ring, in the locker room. after wins. after losses, before fights. its that embarrassment that sent him off running. he knew he looked real bad out there. it was a moment of weakness. if he stayed around and talked, it probably would've been even worse than high tailing it out of there. meltdown city.
If he would have stayed in the ring and said i fought like **** and u fans deserve better and started tearing up than i would respect the man. Silva was a class act. I guess we all make mistakes in the heat of battle and i am no different
He won respect by getting up after Silva planted him twice. But all that respect was lost when he ran out of the ring. IMO, that's just immature and classless.
I was simply going off the 'new' information we had. Easy to lecture with revisionist history. Fact is, I was calling him out originally after the right. But I stand by my post. If the dude had potentially permanent injuries like that (loss of hearing), I'd excuse it. Broken arm.....that's a different story. Sacrificing something like your hearing doesn't make you a man. It makes you dumb. I'm living proof.
Ouch. Not MY fault that the rumors after the fight were proven to be false... Even if he would have been physically injured, running to the locker room like a 40-something year old woman at Wal Mart on Black Friday wouldn't change much in my mind. In fact, if the man needed medical attention, there are doctors cageside to help him. He damn near pushed one over to bolt from the cage. I used to think that Forrest Griffin was one of the toughest SOB's in the UFC, a guy who might not have some of the skills other guys do, but would fight like a dog until the bitter end. I never thought he'd be the type of guy to do what he did. I was dead wrong about him, though. It's one thing to cry after a fight, but to run away with your tail between your legs is INEXCUSABLE, IMO. You can still hear, can't you Muck?
Just watched the Lesnar Mir 1 and 2 again. I think the best thing to happen to Brock was that he lost to Frank Mir the first time. Brock seemed to positioin hi body better and was very smart about it. I can't wait to see who he fights next. I also believe that Frank Mir is only getting better and he looked in the best shape ever. I really wanted to see a Fedor v.s Mir fight, But Fedor ran from the UFC faster than Forrest Griffin ran from the cage.
Cuz he is terrified of Brock I think there WILL be a Mir/Borck 3. And i Think Nog will fight Brock next.
Hopefully Carwin or Velasquez get a shot at him, those two should fight each other to determine his next opponent.
I watched the Silva-Griffin fight last night. Spider is such a wierd fighter, he acts like such a prick sometimes, but then he turns around and is one of the nicest guys that has ever whooped your a$$. Just scary how dominant he is.
I believe that's the plan right now. They fight each other at UFC 104, and you should see the winner get a title shot. I don't see either one of those two giving Lesnar much of a challenge.
Carwin destroys 10 bums, KO's Gonzaga, and he's hyped up like a HW knock-out MACHINE. I don't see it, he's mediocre at best. Velasquez destroys 5 complete cans, lays on top of Cheick Kongo for 3 full rounds, and he's hyped up like the second coming of Fedor. Nope, mediocre at best, too. I can't wait to see Lesnar beat the hell out of either one of these over-hyped chumps.
Depends how the fight goes, I know the GNP is Lesnar's bread and butter but I would love to see him stand with someone for awhile, especially Carwin.
What's the latest on the UFC Ultimate fighter show. Is it true Kimbo got his arse kicked in the first fight?
This Saturday is the biggest bout in womens MMA history..I just hope it lives up to the hype. I am a HUGE Gina fan...but cyborg scares the hell out of me. http://sports.sho.com/mma/events/carano-cyborg-aug-15-2009.html?source=SEP_8.15media_gorilla
It's not true. There is nothing confirmed about Kimbo on TUF as of yet. There are rumors that Kimbo lost his first fight, but they're just rumors. Don't believe everything you read on the Sherdog forums... Kimbo has a glass jaw, but I still think that he's going to win the show. The other guys are BUMS. If Kimbo has improved his takedown defense and ground game at all, he should be able to walk through most of these dudes easily. But, no matter what happens on the show, Kimbo WILL be fighting in the Octagon, I guarantee it. He's too big a draw not to give him a chance.
What makes Kimbo a better prospect than Roy Nelson in your opinion? I cannot see Kimbo doing much. He lost his last fight in 13 seconds and should have lost the one before, he clearly tapped.
Big Country is a fat bum, that's why. The guy has shown me nothing other than the ability to beat up on cans. Kimbo is a prospect because he just is. He has that "it" factor. He seems to have the fire of a fighter burning inside him, and you can tell the guy genuinely wants to be taken seriously in MMA. Here's the question marks on Kimbo: Was the Petruzelli KO a fluke/is his jaw stronger than we saw that night? Has he improved his takedown defense and ground game to better than a rudimentary level? If the answer is yes to those questions, he should be able to win relatively easily, IMO. If the answer is no, Kimbo will be the joke many people believe he is. Personally, I'm rooting for him. I'd like to see the guy do well.
lmao.....you know roy nelson is on the show right? big country wins the show.....calling it right now
Forrest just got beat badly in like 3 minutes....he was the champ months ago...just sayin, it happens. Anyone can get caught at anytime.
i didnt say i thought that.....im saying if nelson is garbage cause hes only beat cans.....then what is kimbo according to him?
I am afraid I haven't even heard of this guy..maybe I need to youtube him. Roy Nelson... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0_UhcpG_ww"]YouTube - Andrei Arlovski Knocks Out Roy Nelson[/ame]
He beat a 67 year old Tank Abbott, that's who! Like I said before, Kimbo is a prospect because he just is. Sure, he hasn't beaten anybody. But he's Kimbo Slice. Much like Brock Lesnar, the man needs no introductions, and everybody knows that he could potentially do quite well in the MMA game. Personally, I think he'd do well to fight at 205, and stay clear of enormous hulks like Lesnar. But I still think he is going to do well on the show. And I know damn well that he'll do better than a fat bastard like Big Country.
Yeah by the best striker in the world. Kimbo got beat by who? And tapped to who? Look, Kimbo has a punchers chance but that is about it.
Other way around, man. Kimbo would probably put Arlovski to sleep inside of one round. All he would have to do would be to gently brush his hand against Arlovski's chin... Arlovski is all but done. His glass jaw has been exposed, and he's going to be getting KTFO'd all the time from here on out. Like Rogan has said, there's a magic number of times a guy can get his card punched. I firmly believe that Arlovski has exceeded his. Mark my words, AA is done.
Arlovski didn't look all that good against Nelson until he knocked him out. He was struggling with him. AA has been KTFO in his last two fights. And there's nothing suggesting it won't continue to happen. Just like Chuck Liddell. They both had a good run. But that time has passed. And it's not going to get any better for them.
