Just got NFLN to go along with ESPN and with the games being scheduled for this evening the entire crews are working, but to tell the truth of it, 99% of what they have to say is merely opinion, there is almost no information. So it just really dawned on me...why bother to watch this stuff? The ESPN crew is in the tank for the Pats and "oh Brady looked great" when the plain fact is, it's been pajama practices with no hitting how in the heck can they say one way or another? Eh, I think I'll vaccum or something rather than watch that stuff.
I watch it for the "ceremony" factor. Its the fore play before the main event. I couldn't care less what they have to say whether its Dolphins or otherwise. But there is a build up that the pre game shows provide that makes watching the game itself that much more entertaining.
I watch them sometimes for last minute updates on this or that. It looks like the FOX crew has a lot of fun with Howie, Terry and gang. For the Brady thing I think the Pats are a highlight in the minds of the NFL and am guessing they "suggest" certain coverage of that highlight. Even if it is bull ####. They're still an entertainment corporation selling a product. Just makes Pats losses that much sweeter.
if you dont like these pregame shows......starting this season.....why not give "thephins wildcat pregame show" a try?!?!? 90% dolphins talk.....everyone here will love it
I stopped watching it 4 or 5 years ago. As you mentioned Padre it is never anything but opinion, usually by Athlete's many of whom have a tough time with the English language.
What kills me is Brady had the same injury as Carson Palmer, and Palmer has not been half the player he was pre injury, yet no one other than the local WQAM radio guys will use "Brady" and "Palmer" in the same breath. to make things worse, earlier in the day NFLN had "pursuit of perfection, the patsies perfect season"...and it wasn't a perfect season.
True. It even spreads outside the shows. I saw so many new pats fans just appear out of no where all of the sudden or old pats fans that seemed to forget they had many very bad seasons. femalefinfan is right too about the build up of the pre show with the music, highlights and graphics. It's kind of like that sizzle of a steak hitting the grill. Gives you a feeling you're about to enjoy something. I miss the old Monday Night Football lead ins with their theme song. I even have it as an MP3. The announcers are often annoying though.
Haven't watched in 7-8 years, I do still watch the postgame shows sometimes. Any show that has the camera views from the coaches box, I will watch, I wish you could switch views in game.. I also don't watch Sportscenter anymore, with the internet I can get the information I want without all the other crap.
Hell no. At best, those guys are mildly funny. Most of the time they are just annoying as all hell. Although if the CBS show is on and nothing else is, I do enjoy seeing Marino; and his cronies can occasionally be entertaining.
