Call me a cynic but if you are on the beach just standing there staring at the pretty big waves, like a moron, you are asking for it.

Wave watchers at Peggys Cove around 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. Peter Steeper, who took this photo, says the rock was swamped about 20 minutes later, but fortunately everyone had moved back.

    calphin deadly at 250 yards!!

This is an unrelentless act of mother nature, a rogue wave that swept people off of a rocky shoreline. This is a tragedy above all, and somewhere, 5 families are grieving the loss of their loved ones. These people will definately be in my thoughts and prayers. In reality, this could be any one of us, or our families, going through this horrific tragedy that can never be explained as anything other than a cruel, unrelentless act of mother nature, that will happen over and over on these same rocky shores. God Bless the families in their time of grief.

no it couldn't be any of us. Only idiots who hang out on the shore with huge waves crashing in despite numerous warnings. That's not me. sorry

    :pity:

A 7-year-old girl died after a large wave stirred up by Hurricane Bill swept her and two others off a rocky ledge at Acadia National Park in Maine Sunday, the Coast Guard said.

You have to be one lucky person that accidents never happen to you or your family.
