    1) Orca-5= 8.5 (solid & improving, especially like the physicality of Grove & Thomas))
    2) Pass rush=9.0 (on the yellow brick road w/ Porter & Taylor, liked Wake & Moses, Crowder penetrating middle)
    3) QB Chad Henne=7.7 (developing well, looks like a solid #2. no QB issues in this stable.)
    4) Special Teams=6.0 (we're in big trouble, time to jump on this one with all fours)
    5) Jake Grove=8.7 (emerging quickly, strong W/ much promise)
    6) WR Corp=7.5 (hasn't collectively stepped up yet)
    7) CB Vontae Davis= 7.6 (needs more time, excellent tackler, much better second game)
    8) Pass Defense= 7.6 (too many passes completed over the middle, both Soliai & Crowder stepping up)
    9) Cameron Wake= 7.9 (is developing well, should come into his own q1quickly, great expectations)
10)RB Stable= 8.5 (Ricky & Ronnie look like they're ready to play. Hilliard, how to keep him?)

OK we've got 1 post with a 1-10 scale, and one with a A+ to F style. Now all we need is someone to translate these into a GPA and we're all set.

You can't really do it for the two games combined IMO, you would really need to do 1 for each game, in particular the OL and Vontae, both were night/day game 1 vs. 2.

Just a quick overview though I saw a lot of improvement last night in the team as a whole, the Panthers are a much higher quality team than the Jags, so I am extremely encouraged by last nights solid improvement. Honestly if our first team unit had stayed in the whole game, I think the Panthers would have had only 7 points, and those only because of the bad fumble call on the return that gave them the ball on our 5YL.

Chad Henne looked a lot more like someone I can feel good about backing up Penny if God forbid something goes wrong there. Cam Wake will likely show about equal improvement in every game he plays this season, so I can't judge him at all yet, but boy am I excited about where I think he will be in 4-6 games!

Our RB stable is THE strongest in the NFL right now, can we carry Ronnie/Ricky/Cobbs AND T-Rex? I sure as heck WANT us to!

The pass rush is also going to improve a lot as the first team unit gets more playing time together.

All in all I am SO FREAKIN PUMPED about where we are and how well we will do this season!

    1) Orca-5 - 7.8 (looked much better the 2nd game, still have room for improvement)

    2) Pass rush - 9 (When the 1st team is in we get pressure most of the time)

    3) QB Chad Henne - 7.8 (He's looked solid, but not exactly great. Would be nice to see him start a game, maybe game 4 he will get the start)

    4) Special Teams - 5.5 (Chris Williams hurt the special teams with his stone hands, the coverage units have been hot and cold)

    5) Jake Grove - 7.5 (Nothing overly impressive yet, struggled the 1st game is seemed like)

    6) WR Corp - 8 (We are having all kinds of people catching the ball, which I guess is good and bad. Nobody has stepped up as a really clear number 2 or even number 1)

    7) CB Vontae Davis - 8 (Made a few poor choices the first game, very solid second game, seems to have a lot of fun while playing)

    8) Pass Defense - 7.2 (Its been up and down, my John Madden statement here is the more pressure we get the better the pass defense is)

    9) Cameron Wake - 8 (We all knew that he could rush the passer, we need to see him in a little different role, maybe see him drop back in coverage a few times to see how he handles it.

10)RB Stable - 9.5 (Feels like everybody we put in the backfield makes plays, Its going to be hard saying goodbye to one of those guys)

Overall - 8.2 (The 1st teams looks very good on both sides of the ball!! The second units are actually doing pretty well too. I think if we keep seeing some improvement in the next couple weeks by the time the season starts we are going to be a really tough team to beat)

Orca - 7.5 seems about the same as last year. Grove stepped up last game. Pass protection seems a bit suspect but we have two more preseason games

Pass rush - 8.5 getting pressure. see how it translates in regular season with game plans

Chad Henne - 8.0 for a 2nd year QB/ 6.5 for a veteran QB. Missed a couple of passes and is so focused on the play down the field that he's not sensing pressure. Other than that he's been great.

Special Teams - 4.0 Our special teams should come to the game in a short yellow bus

Jake Grove - 8.0 Poor first game, good 2nd game. What you expect from a vet

WR set - 7.0 good not great but better than average overall

Vontae Davis - 9.0 for a rookie/ 7.5 for a veteran. He will make rookie mistakes as he learns the game but he's the complete package. By next year I expect a 9.0 veteran grade

pass defense - 7.0 safeties seemed soft in 2nd game but the young guns at corner lead me to believe the unit will be better by the time the season starts

cameron wake - 6.5 disappears at times but has shown flashes. if you consider him a rookie his grade would be a 7.5

RB stable - 10.0 - Ronnie looks like he's in pro bowl form, ricky looks solid, cobbs still has the goods and lex is arguably the best 4th RB in the NFL. There simply isnt any team than can compete depth wise

Why are people calling our O-line the orca five? they have yet to play a reg season game, and people are already giving this bunch a nickname? don't you think its a bit premature...

    my 2 cents.

    1) Offensive Line - 7.5 - They dominate at times, other times look like an offensive line that hasn't played together enough. Too many individual breakdowns. And... I refuse to call them the 'Orca 5'. I'm not crazy about the nickname. Sorry.

    2) Pass rush - 8 - They get good pressure consistently, but they need to finish the deal, and get more actual sacks. When the real games begin, I have a feeling they'll step up big. We can bring the heat from all sides. Sweet.

    3) QB Chad Henne - 7 - Improving, but I'm not sold on him. When he starts, he is still going to have some growing pains. The coaches have obviously done all they can do for the guy. Now, he just needs to be thrown out there.

    4) Special Teams - 4 - For all the emphasis in the offseason, this is the only area that has not improved on our football team. Very, very disappointing so far.

    5) Jake Grove - 7 - Better than Satele. Has looked good and bad.

    6) WR Corp - 5 - Zzzzzzzzzzzzz... disappointing group to me. I thought they'd be farther along. YAC isn't in their vocabulary, and the drops... sheesh...

    7) CB Vontae Davis - 8 - Had his mistakes in the first game, but bounced back in a big, big way against Carolina. He's a player. Gonna be a great CB someday... and, yeah... I said 'great'.

    8) Pass Defense - 8 - Very, very solid unit. We're gonna need them this season.

    9) Cameron Wake - 6 - Needs to get a sack. After that, this guy could go nuts. Love his intensity, and his athleticism is SICK. Needs to work hard to learn NFL football. The sky is the limit.

10)RB Stable - 9.5 - Enjoy your stay in the training room, opposing defenses.
