Probably suspense/thriller, with action thrown in, especially at the end. There's really not a film I could compare it to, it's kind of like an Alien Schindler's list, but even that isn't a good description.

It's way better than Event Horizon, lol.

I had two vastly different movie watching experiences on Saturday. During the afternoon, I watched "Dragon Wars," which was perhaps the most ridiculous movie I've ever seen. That night, however, I did a John Hughes trilogy, revisiting "The Breakfast Club," "Weird Science" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." I thoroughly enjoyed all three.

lol, Dragon Wars was beyond bad. My wife had to pull the sharpened spoon from my hand that I was going to gouge my eyes out with from watching that horrible POS.

The other three are classics. I could damn near quote them along with the actors. Michael Berrymen in WS was great.

    Mulholland Drive on Netflix.

Hated it when it ended, loved it 2 hours later.. Mind trip. Once you get it, it becomes an instant masterpiece.

The Watchmen and The Unborne. Watchmen was good but not as great as I was expecting. Unborne had an interesting twist on the typical demon after a person theme and a hot star but didn't make me want to see it again but was worth one go around to me.

'The Born On the Fourth of July'. I read the novel before I watched the movie, and I can tell you that Ron Kovic, the disabled vet in the film, helped write the screenplay. Anybody that thinks this movie sucks 'cause Tom Cruise is in it, should go to a VA hospital nursing home and ask them what they think. This movie really makes me feel bad for Vietnam vets, and it's portrayed so close to the novel, that you can't help but feel bad for Mr. Kovic. I give it 2 big thumbs up.

The film was incredible, Copley did a tremendous job and many of his scenes were improvised.

Five Fingers - Laurence Fishburn and Ryan Philepe (Fillipe? **** that guy's name)

Reminded of Saw with terrorists. Entire movie takes place in one room... and some fingers get off, hence the title. Not bad if you got an hour and a half to kill.

    Inglorious Bastards.

Ill give it a 8/10, and just because of Brad.
Im not a fan of the guy, I don't dislike him either, just some poeple are head over heels for that guy, hes pretty good, and he is married to...Angelina (((

Anyway, this movie is devided in "parts" so points of view swtich...alot, alot less action than the movie shows, alot more talking. This movie again reminded me hatred for Hitler and his ****ing SS. But man...Brad Pitt needs to win an award for this...He was fantastic, and like I said, im not a nuthugger of that guy. I laughed everytime that man opened his mouth.

i seen 7 Pounds the other day, and easily one of the best movies and stories ive ever seen. amazing story. amazing job yet again by will smith.

i was dragged to a 'chick flick' last night in The Time Travelers Wife. suprisingly it was not bad. if you want to take a chick to a movie you wouldnt mind, and one shes going to cry at, i would recommend that one.

500 Days of Summer: 7/10 Pretty good. I was expecting it to be a little funnier. But the story was good.

District 9: 7.5/10 This could move up to an 8 upon another viewing.

Funny People: 5.5/10 Just wasn't funny enough to take the edge off the deep and dark story.

    District 9.

    Wow.

Haven't seen a scifi movie in a few years that impacted me like this one did. Throughout most of the movie I was left with a feeling of sadness, the way we treated the Prawns was ghastly, and sadly probably the way we would treat an alien race that was marooned on earth. The ending left things wide open for a sequel.

Fanboys - A bit more light hearted than the previous movie I watched (District 9 ... which if you haven't seen yet, you should), Fanboys is basically a Road Trip or Euro Trip with Star Wars thrown in. You'll need to be a fan of Star Wars to get a lot of the references and dialogue in the film, as there's a lot of repeated lines, etc. Funny stuff, if you know the subject matter (and if you don't, well, you probably shouldn't be watching it in the first place). 4 out of 5 stars for Star Wars fans, 3 of 5 for everyone else.

    Inglorious Bastards.

It was good, but like others have said, I expected a lot more action in a war/nazi killing movie.

    Also,

    Mike Meyers? Why?

I just see Austin Powers everytime I see that guy. There's no way I can take him serious, at all.

i had written a nice little piece on district 9 but since i apparently can't post more than 3 sentences without a screen popping up asking me to register..i didn't like it near as much i i thought i would. it didn't have me sitting at the edge of my seat waiting for whats next.there were things they did well in this movie and things they did poorly and the poorly for me atleast really outwieghed the good.

The effects, combined with the hand held cameras lent the film a realism that was disturbing.
