I just got a new tv and PS3. I haven't had a lot of time to play Batman: AA but it looks fantastic and the small amount I have played has been pretty fun.
How did you guys upgrade Batman? I'm not sure how great Batarang's will be and def. want to upgrade his combo's.... What's the recommendation?
i upgraded his suit and combos...and obviously you gotta get vert. takedown too. you should take the time to do all the riddler side stuff though, its the fastest way to upgrades.
im kind of depressed that im finished with this game. im not a big "replay" kind of guy. maybe i'll get infamous used.
Just beat it. Pretty fun game overall. The ending was weak as **** I thought. All that work for... less than 1 min of CGI video? Huh? Kinda lame for such a great game. Certainly B:AA isn't the first game to suffer that fate, but still. I will certainly play a sequel if one is announced. I would prefer some more animations for batman's moves. He needs a few more knockout blows and other assorted fighting moves. Whoever did this game needs to get working on a Spider-Man game. I imagine it could be the same kind of fun. For that matter, whoever did this game should cracking on other comic franchises in the Marvel/DC universes.
Does anyone else get annoyed by how big the batman character is on the screen and that he's off to the left a bit (i.e. not in the centre). I started playing it last night, just beat Bane before going to bed but I'm still not sure about the viewpoint. I've also come across a lot of Riddle ?'s that I can't seem to reach. As for upgrades so far I've went for vert takedown, 2x combo, upgraded suit and stupidly a 8x combo throw that I picked by accident (button mashing )
I wouldn't look too much into the "?" riddles until you finish the game (you can still play the game after you beat it, without the bad guys). You will get some other gadgets later on that will allow you to open other stuff up.
Finished last weekend. Agree with the end fight being lame. WAY to easy to beat the Joker at the end, and no payoff at all. Is it me, or is it even creepier wandering around Arkham with no henchmen around?
Ok, so I got both the original copy GF sent and the replacement copy. Stupid post office. And a flex day Friday! WOO!
while facing the teeth tap the left trigger quick and you wont have to tediously have to aim all the time.
Ok once again I am way late on getting a game (shame on me) but man oh man is this one kick *** game. I have just started the killer croc part and all I can say is WOW and when is Batman 2 due out
Finally finished off the game, got my 1000 gamer points. Awesome game, loved every minute of it. The combat challenges got pretty frustrating though, must have taken me at least 5 hours each to get Shock And Awe (Extreme) and Rumble In The Jungle (Extreme). I'm usually not one for doing playbacks but I stupidly had it on Normal first time round so after completing that and all the challenges I went back and completed it on Hard. Don't think I've every done a full playback for a game in the last 15 years lol.
I realize I'm about 6 months behind but I just beat the game last night and figured I'd add my 2 cents on it. Spoiler alert for people who haven't played or beaten the game. First of all, by far the best Batman game made. I loved the game, especially all of the little secrets. I think I completed the game around 75% or so and still have tons of challenges and Riddler pieces to pick up. I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to try to complete it at 100% but I could definitely see myself replaying it in a year or 2. I loved how it just wasn't a smash the buttons game but you had to use your head like Batman does in the comics. And sneak around and take out the bad guys without being seen. I loved all the stuff with the Scarecrow, especially the scene where Batman becomes young Bruce walking away from his parents. The only negatives about the game I didn't like were most of the boss battles were pretty much the same throw the batarang at the guys face and then dodge out of the way, then beat the crap out of him. I was kind of disappointed in the final battle with The Joker as I thought it would be a little harder (the 2nd to last battle with the two Titans and tons of bad guys were much tougher as was Poison Ivy battle) and you having to use your smarts more. I also found myself using detective mode always all the time because there were just so many secrets hidden, I felt like it did take away some of the enjoyment of seeing the landscape in its natural color instead of just in blue and black. Anyway I can't wait for the sequel. Hopefully the sequel will give us new villians, I think Two-Face and the Penguin will be locks and The Joker will probably return too. And judging from the ending so will Killer Croc. However, I do hope it's a different storyline and has nothing to do with the Titan stuff. I also hope it takes place in Gotham itself instead of Arkam again. Also being able to drive the Batmoble will be a plus too if possible.
I found this game to be just about perfect on my Difficult-O-Meter. I also love, love, *loved* the way they executed the stealth portion, and the atmosphere was top notch. (Playing young Bruce Wayne was one of the creepiest and most effective things I've ever experienced in a video game.)
Agreed completely on the difficult meter. I'm not a great video game player by any means but I want a game that will challenge me but isn't impossible where I get annoyed and stop playing it. I thought this game was perfect for me.
Did you guys complete all the challenges as well? The difficult-o-meter was well and truly screwed on Shock And Awe (Extreme). Took me 5 hours or so of just constant replaying (excluding the breaks that were needed or else my console was getting smashed up ) just to complete that challenge alone.
Some news for the Arkham Asylum sequel have been leaked. Two-Face, Mr. Freeze, Talia al Ghul have already been confirmed as villains and Robin will also be in the game.
I loved the character as well but when the first thought that pops into your head is that abortion of a movie, well then its hard to get it out of your head.
You're not alone, but I think the game makers can make him cool (no pun intended). Afterall Bane & Posion Ivy were ruined for me in Batman & Robin and were awesome in the first Arkham game. I have faith.
