Those were guys busting their butts to make our football team. It's not like any one of the guys getting released has done anything wrong. They just couldn't outwork or produce like the players that made the 53.

Mocking or degrading them is very bad form, IMHO.

Courtney Bryan was a slight surprise, I thought he had a good preseason. Sucked last year but looked like he showed improvement this preseason. Oh well.

i can't believe kershaw is gone. i thought he won him a spot for sure after seeing the last game. oh well.

 

What an idiot. Apparently he didnt want to practice because he felt threatened by Jason Taylor's presence and because in a contract year didnt want to get injured and hurt his value. But wouldnt his value decrease by him not playing all or most of the year?

You don't know the young man's situation. You don't know anything about him. To celebrate a guy losing his job is weak sauce. The fact that he was on the PS last year, and the regime thought enough of him to bring him back speaks well for him.

As to the bolded part, I think that's the very problem: people take the human element out of it. These are people, not objects. This is someone's son, brother, husband, friend, etc.

I'm not saying we have to be all strawberries and flowers, but I like to think we're more classy than this.

 

You go Muck. I feel bad for anyone losing their jobs. The majority of these guys work many years to make a team and then it's gone. It has to hurt, no matter how they try to play it off in the press etc.

 

thanks for the star. i'll take all the stars i can get. i was acutally celebrating the fact that sean smith is so awesome that we don't need billingsley. sounds like you guys want a 1000 man roster to keep anyone who was ever on the team at one point so no one's feelings gets hurt. give me a break! its not like he was wronged! there's 53 people that are better than him so he didn't make the team. that's life!

i think you're missing my point. I'm glad we have someone like Sean Smith. For those of you that don't know this, when you add someone, you have to get rid of someone. We get better every year by adding people and getting rid of people. there's nothing classless about that. i guess the front office has no class for cutting billingsley!

We all know Smith is awesome. If you wanted to make a thread about that then you didn't need to bash Billingsley to do it.

 

All I said was at least be nice about it...no biggy...These guys have to learn just like the rest of the workforce how to handle adversity...but when you said..."we don't need people like you !" it sounds pretty personal, like the guy was a bad person...the guy is probably just an average Joe, I don't know him but it's no reason to put him down when he's already cut....

The statement i made about billingsley is not false. we don't need him because our 2 cb's that we drafted are not busts. obviously the front office agrees with me. if all of this ruckus is over this statement "we don't need people like you" then someone please tell me why we need him!!!

I didnt see anyone here having praise for Ernest Wilford when we let him go or see much sympathy for Chris Williams. This is part of the NFL. Hopefully these guys catch up somewhere else. Or maybe they didnt work hard enough to make the team. Either way, we all need to lighten up, this is the part of the preseason, these moves will hopefully make our team better.

Sometimes things in print look a lot different than intended...I've done it myself, after reading what I just typed...it sounds wrong when I read it back to myself....either way, I never thought that Will would make it anyways....J. Allen was playing too well for that to happen...
