http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090907/ap_on_bi_ge/us_meltdown_new_frugality 86% is still high, especially when considering most people went into debt over their income levels, meaning their credit cards financied their lifestyles more than 36%. INOW if a Consumer made 20 dollars, they were spending 30 dollars, that reduction that is forecast, 14%, would mean consumers are only spending 6.40 or so over their take home pay..so they actually are still digging themselves into the hole, but not as quickly... As an aside, thePhins premium membership sort of pays for itself, if one wishes to be a Media Dolphins Fan, meaning more than likely going to a game is not in the cards, the normal alternative, going to a sports bar, will cost 20 dollars in beer alone, let alone the appetizers and tips etc. When I used to go to sports bars it was for one reason, they were the only place in town that carried the game, after a Cab, Booze, Food, Tips, a Dolphins game was 90 bucks...each game...ouch.. Chat, Video feeds, and radio coverage, now I'm looking at 20 bucks or less per game...
Couldn't you just cut out the cab and booze? You might even be able to skip the food and get by with a coke and free refills ... $5 tops.
If one is going to have some beer, one will need a cab, beer is a hot wings condiment and essential to good Dolphins viewing...imho... And if one can make an event out of a glass of diet coke and a football game, bro you are much more frugal than I. But I have looked into beginning to homebrew as a cost cutting measure.
Diet coke is for the preseason... Plus, FWIW, diet sodas are hard on the body it's basically low grade carbonated acid with a chemical compound made from bananas for sweetner.
Frugal is a very nice way of putting it. Aren't all sodas low grade carbonated acid? Banana sweetner sounds healthier than most artifical sweetners.
