Post your favorite "old" movie. I'm not talking about stuff from the 50's when some of you guys were around. Not classics and what not, but I'm talking about good stuff that came out like 5-10 years ago that you still can't get enough of. I just watched The Patriot yesterday for the 100th time and I can't get enough of it. I know the name is kinda anti-phinfanite but that's just such a great movie. One of my favorite scenes in any movie is when Ben (Gibson) takes his two sons to help free his captures son Gabriel (Ledger) and earns himself the name "The Ghost" Anyway, what's yours?
Tombstone. I never get tired of it. It's about the only movie my wife will tolerate me watching over and over. It's probably her favorite.
Big Lebowski Death to Smoochy Mystery Men Ace Ventura 2 Fight Club Seven Usual Suspects Pulp Fiction From Dusk till Dawn
The Patriot is a hell of a movie. I love that movie and can watch it all day lol. I am not a big movie guy if at all but there are some movies that I like and one of them is The Patriot ( even if it includes the name of the team I despise)
Ah in the last 10 years, outside of Gladiator, there really has not been many good movies made. As for go-to, but not really old classic(I guess Marx Brothers, and Pink Panther with Peter Sellers films would be too old) The five go-to movies are Animal House, The Blues Brothers, SOB, Caddyshack, and North Dallas Forty.
The Godfather Parts I and II have been on all night. That's going a bit old school but I just can't skip over them when I'm searching through the guide. Serenity is a movie I can watch over and over again. Independence Day makes me feel like a kid again. It loses a bit every time I rewatch it but it was at such a high level when I first saw it that it has a ways to go before it gets old.
I'm not a person who will watch too many movies more than once, much less several times. HOWEVER, a couple of movies that I have watched more than a few are : John Grisham's Rainmaker. I guess it's just my personality, but it never gets old watching that insurance company get kicked in the nads. Another is Crimson Tide. They're both kind of the same theme ie: David v Goliath.
I've seen a couple on here that are some of my all time favs. Forrest Gump is such a great movie, and I just haven't seen it in so long. Independence day is a movie I would fall asleep to for like an entire summer and I'll never get enough of it. I just watched office space last night and that's another one I could watch 100000 times. Someone said Remember the Titans and someone else said Gladiator. I like both of those too, and in that same line, I'll add training day. One movie that I've watched a bunch, but most people don't think of is called "The Game" It came out in 97 and has Michael Douglas. If you've never seen it, do yourself a favor and spend 2.99 in the bargain bin and pick it up. Don't look up any info on it before you see it because that'll ruin it. Just get the movie, sit down, and enjoy the ride.
I'm a sucker for the first Men in Black movie and for a little movie with Morgan Freeman called "The Power of One"... I really love that one.
I can't believe I forgot about Boondock Saints. If you haven't seen it, go to the store now.. I don't care if it's late.. Go BUY it.. You won't regret it.
Can't help it. I'm going to keep this thread running, because I had to comment on th Boondock Saints. That was a really good movie. I saw it on HBO and I was kind of skeptical at first. But I started getting into it pretty quick and loved it. I know alot of critics hated it, though.
