my wife the Notre Dame alum didn't even know about the names on the jerseys and Ara. nice info. thanks!
I doubt too many Gator fans will tell you that Tebow has a better arm He does not Clausen has a way better arm, But he makes way better decisions. Congrats again on your bowl win and hopefully another next year (Unless play team in SEC).
Lost a recruit. He must not have liked UCLA's defensive coordinator or something, I was hoping him getting the New Mexico job would ensure Pollard stuck around. Pollard would have a chance to compete as a freshman if Gary Gray and/or Darrin Walls dont come back. http://subwaydomer.blogspot.com/2009/01/trouble-on-corner.html
I dont know. Seems odd to me that he'd commit to UCLA, then change to ND and then switch back after Walker leaves. Might just be a coincidence, but seems odd.
I find it hard to believe it is a Walker issue. DeWayne Walker has to be one of the best assistant coaches there are. Player-friendly and guys would put their lives on the line for him. He was the guy who informed all the cuts during walk-on tryouts and never once got any bad feelings even from that. I gotta believe it's some other factor in the decision. Locale? I know he's a So Cal guy.
Cant wait to see this kid play. Even if we end up having to wait until 2012... http://www.southbendtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090205/SPORTS13/902050329/1001/Sports http://www.southbendtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090205/SPORTS13/902050354/1001/Sports [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdeiRXsDFtg"]YouTube - Highlights of LB Manti Te'o, #6 on Takkle/SI's Top 200[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNfwqYR6vdk"]YouTube - Manti Te'o 2007 Season Review[/ame]
Article on some impact ND walk-ons over the years. I had no idea Shane Walton was a walk on, but I loved that guy. I still miss him lol. http://www.blueandgold.com/content/?aid=6688
And Bryant Young joined the coaching staff as a grad-assistant. He's being groomed to take over as DLine coach eventually. Might help w/ recruiting having an ex-NFL player go out and talk to some of these kids. http://www.southbendtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090215/SPORTS13/902150422/1021/Sports
It is almost time The countdown has begun a little tune up game verse Sept. 5th then Michigan on Saturday before the opening sunday of NFL. Man I cant wait.
I love college football Better WR duo in the country than Tate and Floyd? Perhaps, but they're up there.
Looking good so far....huge year for Golden Domer's...rooting for their success! Like what I see so far.
Something to keep in mind. 3. For Math majors: Notre Dame begins its quest Saturday to take back the lead in all-time winning-percentage from Michigan this season, and perhaps even do it within the confines of a mandated 20-hour work week. If the Wolverines do what most prognosticators project them to do -- go 6-6 -- ND would have to go 10-2 and win its bowl game to reclaim the lead it lost in 2004. And I love Floyd. A sophmore...wow. Solid start, both side of the ball for ND Irish! Great W to kick of the road to the Natl Championship!!!!!
Well here it is. Game 1 in the books now time for scUM week. I loved what I saw from the offensive line and the playcalling. If u play off our receivers we will screen you to death. Players are starting to perform at a high level and Tenuta has our defense blitzing every play. Man its going to be a fun season and I love the 09 Irish. Cant wait for saturday.
new here, also a die hard Notre Dame fan. Michigan doesn't even have a chance this week. Im gonna say 33-14 Irish. Manti Te'o will have a breakout game. lol idk.
Hope you're right, but I'll be nervous before every game. Loved Te'o last week. Guy comes in and makes some big hits, something this team has lacked since Zibby left. I dont see Michigan winning, but I'm just not sure which ND will show up at this point lol. Hopefully what we saw last week is the real deal.
Really? No Chance?? 33-14 irish?? What do you have to say now that the game is over. GO BLUE!!! In case you missed it... Michigan 38 - Notre Dame 34
Being disappointed is the norm for fans of this team. Weis better get that resume ready cause I'm tired of this nonsense.
He's one of those guys that will probably be a great OC no matter where he goes, but really isn't head coach material.
I don't get the Shannon hate. The only thing he is terrible at is managing time outs. Other than that he's improved the team greatly, and brought in some amazing recruiting classes. I wouldn't move Shannon, I think he will be just fine.
well I was wrong, Michigan is a lot better than I thought they were. oh well, at least seattle hasnt lost yet lol
I kinda wish I had been able to watch this game, but the UCLA Tenn game was just as (and in my eyes more) exciting. It does look like this was a fantastic game though. grats to Michigan for proving Lou Holtz wrong (I was upset with Lou today notably because he was making his usual declarations of teams have no chance to win like Mich and UCLA, and he was wrong on both.) at the very least from what i can tell the ND offense looked pretty good, so there's that
