Is it that no one who's playing WR gets open? Someone @ WR other than Davone Bess has to become a factor or ATL is going to win.
The sack was Long's fault, but Penny must have been able to see the guy coming...how about a bit of footwork there?
Jake tried to tap dance before he punched with his hands, Abraham whacked him with his helmet and Long was knocked down. big Jake has to do better than that, I bet that is the first time he has seen that though.
Same as last year so far... nobody open downfield, just the little 5 yard stuff. Either nobody's open, or Penny just doesn't trust himself to try and make a play downfield. One of the two IMO
Merling has been very impressive to me so far. Lots of pressure, just made a nice stop against the run there too.
I'll get roasted for this: but I want to see RW get the ball more. He is much quicker to the holes and, as I've always said, has better vision. We should be moving the ball much better on the ground than we are now. We also need to pass more on first downs to get about 5 yards and make 2nd and third downs easier.
for the sake of perspective, ATL is amongst the best teams in the NFL. It shouldn't be easy to score points and play D. That its 0-0 is a good thing, if you think about it.
Not bad for the D so far. Theyve made some plays, bailed themselves out of trouble. The offense on the other hand... Not looking good at all. Aside from one nice run by Ricky, thanks to a huge block by Ronnie we've really done nothing. We need to pick it up, the OL needs to open holes, and WRs need to get open, we can't survive against them like this, for much longer i dont think.
