Pat White will be listed as the Back up QB again with Henne as the emergency QB.

hey. If white makes that pass, instead of talking about how we need to get rid of the wildcat, we're talking about how the wildcat is the only good thing we did on offense last week.

Good news, if given the opportunity, i don't think White will miss that pass twice.

I'd not only say he would miss it twice if thrown again, I'd say he would miss it 9 times out of every 10 times he throws it. He simply doesn't have the accuracy and isn't capable of hitting that pass on a regular basis.

once PW gets over the rookie jitters, he will be dangerous. i wouldn't mind seeing him run it in the wild cat on monday night. he can break the defense's ankles.

Well I'd rather see White in there at least attempting that pass than to watch Penny throwing to WR's that haven't crossed the line of scrimmage, all day

Look, I wasn't a big fan of the Pat White pick, but saying Pat White is not accurate is just not correct.

    2005 57%
    2006 65.9 %
    2007 66.7%
    2008 65.7%

And they were not all dink passes taken to the house.

I know it's nothing personal. You're a Dolphins fan, just like the rest of us. I know you like Pennington because he is a Dolphin. I'm just asking, why criticize Pennington so much. He lead us to an 11-5 record last season. Let him play.

He was in complete control except that he didn't gain any yardage running and overthrew his one pass....I still don't see it...the White hype has taken over this board and there's nothing there....yet...

I hope they give Pat White enough reps in the WC to get him a chance to settle his nerves. Once he does, and the game slows down for him, he will be very dangerous and a LOT of fun to watch. Teams will have to respect the pass in the WC and will no longer be able to stack 8-9 in the box against the run. Pat White will eventually force opposing teams to respect the pass in the WC, and when that happens, the running game will come right back like it was against the Pats in game 1 last season.

Honestly, some people just enjoy finding anything they can to complain about. Some people are just flat out pessimistic about everything :P

Penny has had 2 bad games in a row, sure people are going to be down on him, but we can't forget about what he did before those 2 games last year. Let's hope for a bounce back.

Also, if you watched Pat White at all in College then you know he throws a good deep ball. He will make that throw at least 60% of the time based entirely on statistics.

I hate to say it but I agree with this.

Post college stats all you want, but what we've seen from Pat White as an NFL player and Miami Dolphin is that since the day he walked into OTAs and Training Camp he was very inaccurate. That inaccuracy carried over into the preseason and the first game of the season when it counted.

He had plenty of time and space to make that throw to Ginn and he didn't even come close. He overthrew the pass by 15 yards.

This 1 isolated incident is not alarming, but when it's been consist since he's put the Dolphin uniform on, then yes, I'm alarmed. Based on what I've seen, he didn't just make that one bad pass. He overthrows that pass more often than not.

I hope I'm wrong and he shuts me up though.

He's only the third string QB because we have no other way to get White on the field.

emergency QB means this. If you put your emergency qb in, the other two qbs cant come back into the game. So basically, if Pennington gets hurt, we're still gonna put Henne in. He's the backup QB, but he's not needed unless Pennington gets hurt. Where as we're willing to use Pat White at all times.

I can imagine (and i seriously hope) that Sparano has gone over this with him.

I've gave my reasons for my displeasure with Penny and generally my posts have plenty of content, regardless of whether you agree with it or not. If anything it stirs debate and conversation.

Maybe some people just enjoy finding some people to complain about.

well he was taken as an athlete and not necessarily a QB. And the unfortunate side of using him so early on is that we really haven't given him ANY time to adjust to the pro game and settle in.

But he's a good football player. I wasn't thrilled with the pick, still probably not, but I know he can play.

And stay with it.......don't go back to Penny behind center on 3rd down. It's not like that option has ever had much success, so why not try something diff..

no brother, i would'nt want to do that. A key to this offenses sucess is going to be how they deal with unrhythmic situations..an interchangable offense is gonna take serious discipline and a hi level of focus. we must get to the point where unrhythmic patters of offense, is our rhythm.

I'm kind of a hypocrite when it comes to the wildcat. I hate when we use it and it doesn't work but I sure as hell get excited whenever I realize that they're trying some sort of trick play.

what does a new offensive scheme have to do with hitting a receiver in stride? They are completely independent from each other.

I'm in no way against Pat White. I think he can and will be a good player and threat for the Miami Dolphins. I just think we're pushing the situation a little too much. I don't think he's ready yet. I'd be hesitant to use him for more than a few plays this week.

Jamarcus Russell had a 68% accuracy with 9.15 ypa his final year in the SEC. So far his accuracy in the NFL is without question, questionable.

So you quote 1 year. I quote 4, I have seen Pat White play in person on 4 occasions.

The guy is accurate, and no I'm not saying he is going to be a starter or anything like that in the NFL. There have been many accurate college QB's that have flopped in the NFL. But to say he is not an accurate passer after 1 (I REPEAT 1) NFL pass is just well, I won't say it!

As I said, I was not a fan of picking White at where we did, but give the guy a chance before we say he can't throw a pass.

i thought about that too, but i think he knows that he's the real 2nd string QB. they're just doing this to get Pat White in on the wild cat. If Pennington went down, Henne would come in and Pat White wouldn't be able to play.

But we're not just saying he's not accurate based off of 1 pass. It's been an unfortunate trend since he was drafted. OTAs, Training Camp, Preseason, Game 1, etc...

He has done nothing since he put on a Dolphin jersey to make me believe he is or could be an accurate NFL passer. The speed of the NFL game might just be too much for him yet.

My opinion doesn't count for anything, but I'm not comfortable with the ball in his hands yet.

Not only is he not accurate, when he misses, he misses by 10 yards.

The NFL sized ball is simply too large for it. I doubt he can palm a basketball.

Pat White - Coaches Have Made Him Change How He Throws

If the coaching staff had not spent the entire time changing how he passes (imagine all his accuracy throughout high school and college) to get in the NFL and then have to learn how to throw all over again. It would be tough no matter how talented you are.

Funny thing about the Ginn overthrow, White was money on that route in College, I watched all four of his bowl games and saw him hit that route perfectly.

White's problem in the Wildpat is I'm not totally sure he is fast/quick enough to be a running threat in the NFL.
