Awake-At first I'm like man this is one of those movies that sound good on paper but right after I thought that boom totally picked up. Pretty decent flick wasn't too long.

Rambo-Beast movie. Ive always been a fan of those type of movies where the main character is a complete badass and Rambo was just that. Some very graphic stuff was in there.

Death Race-I really enjoyed this film thought its was pretty good. Didn't really get Franks and Joe's friendship.

    Overall though pretty decent.

I liked it quite a bit. Obviously, I'm a fan.

Love him or hate him, he is what he is and he doesn't make any excuses for his actions.

Rent -- This is the second time I'd seen it, and I like it a lot. Great music.

Superbad -- Finally saw it and liked it. I think I got the extended edition, which is unfortunate, because it meandered a bit.

Finally saw District 9 last night. That was probably the best movie I've seen in the theatre this year. They did a really good job with it. I mean making the movie, and not letting somebody like Michael Bay get involved and **** it up.
I liked the fact that it was in Johannesburg, South Africa and not your typical New York City or LA prime spot. I was pretty much hating the humans and their lack of compassion because of ignorance and misunderstanding at the end of the movie.
One of the few this year that I hope to catch again before it leaves the big screen. Like I've heard many times on here, if you haven't seen it, GO SEE IT.

Caught Whiteout last night. The trailers makes it look like a horror type movie, but it is more of a thriller. A couple of dull spots where things are a little slow, but overall not a bad movie. Good to see Tom Skeritt on the Silver Screen again.

Watched Cloverfield last night. I thought it was an interesting concept. In all the Godzilla movies, the main roles are usually the scientists, the military, and maybe somebody that thinks it should just be left alone. The rest are just the screaming civilians running around screaming in the streets.
In this movie you got to see what it was like to be one of the regular people getting trampled on.
    Definitely worth a look.

Saw Frost/Nixon. Outstanding drama that lived up to the "actor's movie" hype. Frank Langella as Nixon dominates the screen like few performances I've ever seen.

A great movie, I had to find a theatre down here in FL watch it. 40 miles later.....It was only playing in Sanford, outside of Orlando.

    A great movie,
it dealt with a lot of POW camp stuff you don't see on tv, such as getting handcuffed to your cellmate, and then ****ting your pants for the night. And the constant daily abuse with every simple daily task. It deals with a lot of stuff you don't see in regular mainstream Vietnam movies.
    I agree, I'll give it 8/10:up:

I have a friend that works for Digital Domain that did some FX on that movie. He's going to kick your *** now. Seriously though, the way CGI is improving so rapidly, it doesn't take long for special effects to start looking dated. I also notice that for some reason, when you watch the movie at home instead of in the theater, the effects lose a bit of their luster.

I thought the last two X-men movies were so-so. I watched them at home, and ended up channel surfing through the 2nd one, it was so bad. I've heard talks of a 'Magneto' prequel which could be good if they get the right people. I remember that the beginning of the first one
they show him getting put in a prison camp by the Nazi's, and he destroys the front gate.
It could be a great movie if they let it happen.

Saw Obsessed starring the actor that played Stringer Bell from The Wire, Ali Larter and Beyonce. I figured it was going to be a crappy copy of 'Fatal Attraction' but it was surprisingly decent until the end. I'm usually good at guessing what's going to happen in the movie but unfortunately I was wrong and the ending jumped the shark in record time. Without going into detail I feel if the movie had a twist ending that I was thinking of instead of the predictable movie that's been made countless times, it might have been a solid C+. Instead I give it a D. 'Stringer Bell' was very good in the movie (he's really an underrated actor) and Ali Larter looked great but neither her nor Beyonce can act and they really dragged the movie down.

I also saw 'The Rocker' and while it bombed at the box office it was surprisingly decent. It's basically like School of Rock, minus the school, only not as funny or good. But it's interesting and kept my attention and made me actually care about the characters in the movie. If you see it randomly on Cinemax or Starz I'd check it out.
