I hear ya man, shouldnt be blacked out though, afc east rival game, Hennes first start FO wont let this game be blackout if stadium isnt sold out
Why do I always see blackout threads when there's a home game? There was one of Finheaven prior to the Colts game and the place was packed from top to bottom. We haven't had a blackout in 8 years people!
Actually 10 years. The reason I started it this time is because there is a realistic chance. An 0-3 start, combined with the economic condition of Dade county, means there is a good chance we'll see one this year. I beileve 4 PM today is the deadline.
No, our last blackout was the 2001 playoff game against the Ravens. Anyway, there's nothing on the radio or local newspapers about a possible blackout so far.
If we didn't have a blackout during a 1-15 season, I see no reason why there should be one this year.
Correct. WFOR (CBS4) has purchased them a few times in the last few seasons. This is all quite misleading though when you consider season ticket sales are up from last season...
The economy was in the ****ter last year too. That, plus coming off of the horrendous 1-15 season and still no blackouts.
I'm doing my part - two tix in the end zone. Here's an idea - get your sister to watch the little one for a few hours!
I think Bill Parcells' arrival generated a tremendous amount of interest in the team. Plus, the first home game was against Favre and the Jets. The next home game was San Diego, the week after the Wildcat beatdown at New England. We were on a roll, and there was no way we weren't going to sell out. 0-3 is a completely different animal though.
to Joe Robbie. noticed your sig. of the jerseys...do you really have a czonka jersey?? how'd you get that? is it authentic?
You can't forget about the Parcells factor. The gravitas he brought compared to keeping Cameron or hiring a Norv Turner type are polar opposites. We certainly aren't in the tier that some other teams are (like JAX). But with the economy being what it is, we can't just brush it off. Especially if the team continues losing.
I got one last year. I know it sounds a bit wacky, but literally a friend of a friend sells them (I think they are actually defects that got rejected for some reason, but I can't see anything wrong with it), and my buddy was talking about it at work, so I handed him $$ on the spot. I'm going old school on my jerseys now, cause when I get an active player's they get hurt or traded. Trying to find a Warfield, Duhe, or Offerdahl now.
A couple years ago Reebok made a Clayton, Marino and Duhe throwback for $125. Not sure if they're still offering the, though.
If the games were sold out during the disaster season two years ago a total depression in the economy wont stop this game from being a sellout. It's the Dolphins/Jetsons.......
I bought a new custom jersey for $300 plus to go with my first pair of season tickets ever then it hit me that no one knows me my by name (Simmons). I called the next day and asked them to change it to LikeUntoGod but they said too late. It weights like 3 pounds and I keep it in plastic between games. The housekeepers got a hold of my old one and BLEACHED IT! I have a cold coming on strong so this week is going to be like the Play Off game last year. I will have to have someone drive me down and back and I will run off of cold tablets (the good stuff). It did teach me how to sneak in a couple of beers and some snacks into the game. I had a butt-pack which I had stuffed with tissues, cold tablets and 3 bags of throat drops. We were a little late and just got to our seats before the game started so the lines were long and everyone was in a hurry. So the "staff" was not really checking and the guy looks at me, 6'4" 220 pounds and with a bad cold and he just lets me in without touching me. So now I always take a couple of 24 Oz cans of Bud, a rolled up "Bud" and a couple of special K breakfast bars, LOL. Then I have the Sunday ticket so i have the game on DVR when I get home.
What can I expect to pay for a ticket from scalpers on Monday? I've gotten a lot of tickets before but never on a Monday night game. I know there are going to be a lot of tickets around though. Miami doesn't have a winning record and a lot of people don't come out because of that.
There will be enough Jets fans there to make sure there isn't a blackout (oh and ESPN/Dolphins would buy up the tickets, that would be too damn embarrassing) BZ
I've never had a problem finding tickets there. If you wait close enough to game time there are a lot of people that are taking less than ticket value. They just want to sell em.
There always seems to be a ton of Dolphins fans when games are in NY as well so whats your point? At least Miami does not pay RENT .....
This is very true......I've shown up running late for the game and being late ended up saving me money. And this is true for big games as well
I think the point is...... Florida > NY Ever meet a Floridian that was saving money to move to NY? Altho I have met plenty of them that would donate to a fund to send some NYers back to where they came from.
havent had a blackout in over a decade buddy... I gurantee if the jets went thru the turmoil this franchise has been thru, u would see some empty at the giants stadium as well.
