Can someone explain to me why the Jet fans think they have a contender on their hands?

    Working backwards:

The Saints: They played the Saints no tougher than the Bills. Brees had the same stats against the Jets, actually a bit better, than when they played the Bills. The Saints disposed of the Jets and Bills in the exact same fashion, took the ball away and shoved the rock down their throats with smash mouth football. If Brees was forced into a shutout, the score would've been 42-10. Instead, they just stood on your throats.

The Titans: Yeah they proved to be really awesome! Good job getting by them at home. Your defense was real stout that day too. I'm sorry, did I say stout? I meant average.

The Patriots: You got the same stale old rusty Tom Brady that the Bills almost beat, in the Patsies own backyard. No Welker, a banged up Moss, no Mayo. Good thing you took advantage, because the next time will be a bloodbath. We all saw Brady's rust, and his misconnections with Moss deep. It woulda been 17-0 or worse at half, if you guys faced the Brady from the past 2 weeks, and it would've turned into a rout, or at least a 2 td defeat, like you suffered this past week.

And the Texans. Oh God I wish you guys could go back a replay that game, now that Schaub, Slaton and those WRs have their heads out of their asses.

Face it, you took advantage of teams still in pre-season mode, or teams that are not good. The one team you faced that was game, you lost by 2 TDs. And all I hear is "oooohh, Im so proud of our D, ooooph we only REALLY gave up 10 points, oooooh it was a great performance against the best team in the league.

    BULL****!

In all our losses, we got killed in the turnover battle. -4 against the Falcons. -1 against the Colts, and 2 turnovers against the Chargers and a pick 6, on a short week and west coast trip to SD.

You hear us crying, or making excuses? You see us losing by 2 TDs? A teams record doesn't tell the whole story, and you'll find that our Monday. The Jets are as overrated as they come, and I'd wish it no other way. Get those hopes up real nice and big, just to crush them AGAIN this winter.

Say what you will about our fanbase, at least we're smart. Jetnation is that dog who chases his own tail. He never figures it out. THEY.NEVER.LEARN.

One more thing to remember: Calvin Pace, our best OLB comes back this week. Gholston the bust will be benched [thank god]. Teams have been runnig right a VG and he is such a liability it's not even funny. Pace is our best pass rusher and he is excellent again the run. Our run D WILL improve. It's a fact. Plus, our guys will be run blitzing ALL night. Look for tons of plays in the backfield.

Absolutely. Teams run RIGHT AT HIM!!! He thinks that the object of playing defense is to block the Offensive Lineman, or that's what it looks like when you watch him. He is so abysmal, at everything. Especially Run Defense.

WOW. Where do I even start???? The Jets lost yesterday to New Orleans because of Sanchez's dumb rookie mistakes. i.e. staring down the WR, holding the ball for 5 seconds in his own end zone. Brees and the passing attack was limited. He couldn't make very many plays at all. They went for it twice on 4th down and couldn't convert. "If Brees was forced into a shutout," he would have been shut down like Collins, Brady, and Schaub. But he wasn't. The defense made plays for them. Brees did not play that great though.

Kerry Collins did not complete one ****ing pass in the 4th quarter. Average? Nice.

The "same stale old rusty Tom Brady" won AFC player of the week against the Bills. And he didn't look old and rusty marching them up and down the field against Buffalo for those game winning drives. They hit Brady in the mouth the whole day, and his comp. % was around 50%. The NE offense did not score a touchdown. Also, Revis is just flat out better than Moss. And spare me with the injury bull****. It's a part of football. New England bounced back just fine w/o Welker & Mayo the following week.

Do you have anything other than "if" arguments?

Finally, the Houston game. The Jets shut down Schaub & Slaton. Relentless pressure in their faces the whole day. Not because they had their heads in their asses. LOL what an argument.

And I'm sorry teams were still in pre-season mode while we were ready to roll and beat ***. Nothing the Jets could do about that. That's another dumb argument anyway.

Are you tired of getting pwned yet?

Brees played better against Jets than the Bills. And going for fourth and short doesn't reflect how he would've eaten you guys alive with 4 wide sets...if they had any reason to not be conservative. I mean, why change when they can just run all over them.

But true, who cares about what ifs, they beat you ONLY by 2 TDs. It makes no sense to speculate how many TDs they could've beaten you by if they really wanted to pour it on.

And Sanchez rookie mistakes will keep on keepin on into Monday night and beyond. And next year, they won't be rookie mistakes when he's still making them. The point is, we could lay a bunch of excuses too because we lost all our games due to turn-overs.

You can say its irrelevant that the Jets caught teams in pre-season mode. Thats partially true, because your record cant be changed. Where it IS relevant is that your team is going to be exposed. They are not nearly as good as you all think. Im not saying your defense is bad, but the way everyone carries on, it is grossly over-rated.

The fact is, you beat a rusty and decimated Pats team, missing their most productive guys on both sides of the ball. You beat the Titans and Texans who are a whopping 2-6. And you lost by 2 TDs to the one team who showed up to play.

And just because you say my remarks are dumb, is in itself dumb. You thinking and saying they are dumb is less than useless. its just rude. especially when you cant really prove that they are, you can only disagree. and disagree poorly when you do so.

And we both know, if brady farts on the field, he either gets an award or rule change. let's at least agree on that.

Jets are 3-1, Phins are 1-3. You are what your record says. We'll see how everything plays out Monday night.

This is a much more interesting game now that the Dolphins won one and the Jets lost.

If this had been 4-0 vs 0-4, smack talk would be at an all time low.

    As for the game...

I have a hard time seeing how the Dolphins offense is going to score more than 12-17 points. The Jets will be daring Chad2 to throw the ball and playing everyone up at the line. He is going to get a lesson in defensive pre-snap movement.

The game comes down to Sanchez and the offense.. they play like last week, we lose, big time.

He takes that game as a great lesson, studies his protection schemes, get the clock in his head tuned up and plays like he did in the first 3 games, it will become a long day for the Dolphins.

Expect the Jets to take the leash off of Shonn Greene and see what he can do.

    1. The smack talk would have been the same. jets fans are loud and obnoxious whether they're 4-0 or 0-4.

    2. The Bills tried to stack the box and dare Henne to throw the ball and we found creative ways to run the ball effectively. Yes, the jet defense is better than the Buffalo D, but y'all can do all the pre-snap histrionics you want, we're still gonna run all over the jet defense.

    3. Any QB that turns the ball over 4 times is gonna lose.

    4. The media is all in love with Snatchez, cause he's handsome and charming. Unfortunately for Snatchez, you don't win football games with your "it factor". You win by making the right decisions and by execution. I can't wait until Henne outplays Snatchez.

    5. I'm not worried about a guy named "Shonn". Seriously though, our run D has been amazing in every game. My only worry is Leon Washington and your TE. Leon's killed us in the past. Your TE may or may not be the real deal, but if he is, he'll have a big day.

    6. Here's a little something for the jet fans:

I think your teams knows we are going to run. So we will run and then run some more. Then we are going to run. I think we will have almost 200 yards on the ground. I don't think we are going to ask Henne to win the game for us.

On the other side, I don't think you guys can run on us. I think the whole game comes down to which secondary shows up for the phins and which dirty Sanchez shows up for the Jets.:knucks:

Thats the way it goes in this league. There are more teams out there besides the phins that were a handful of bad plays away from being 3-1.
I guess I feel a bit more confident now that I see the secondary communicating and making some plays.

It's (semi) nice to see you rearing your ugly head after so long. How have you been?
In spite of the 1-3, we still have the #1 ranked rushing attack. I don't know if you watched last week's game. But Henne came out throwing early. He did just well enough to back the defense off the line and allow Brown and Williams to do what they do.
Regardless of any and all hype, what we've got is a game with two inexperienced QBs with strong arms. And two very good defenses. Interestingly enough, although there's so much being said about the Jets' D they've still only generated 4 sacks and 4 INTs. We've got 11 and 3. One INT for a TD in fact. Jets' D is ranked 4 overall and we're ranked 10 overall. We're allowing 61. yds on the ground, Jets are allowing 100.3 on the ground.
I'm saying all this because it may well come down to which inexperienced QB makes more plays this week.
I give us the edge because we're at home.
In any event you better be coming back around if we win......

It seems to me the Jets offense has been sliding backwards over the last couple of weeks, Sanchez had a good start but the NFL catches up with young Qb's really quickly.

I see a low scoring game, maybe a couple of big plays, but mostly a field position battle, Washington's return ability gives the Jets a nice weapon but I suspect Ted Ginn will be back on kick returns for this game.

As for stacking the box, no worries, we have had the box stacked on us all season and it really has not mattered very much to the offense.

First young Qb to make a dumb pass could lose the game for their team.

Not sure about Green... not injury report (that I have seen). If there is a knock against him so far, he seems to get hurt easily.

As for Lito and Strickland, looks like Lito is better off and will play.

Either way... the other two dudes are doing ok. Basically, Revis is shutting down one side and everyone else is on the other.

Again.. if your number one receiver is Ginn (yes?) that leaves our other dudes to cover anyone else.

If Drew Brees (98 points in 2 games) can't score a passing TD against us in his dome, I doubt the rookie Henne is going to do much damage in Jets Stadium South.

well the fact is, we're not 0-4 and the Jets aren't 4-0.

More importantly, the Jets aren't the 85 Bears (who did they lose to again???) and the sooner jets fans realize that, the better off you will all be, come mid November.
its like, "how dare you think you can win?!" gimme a break, jets are nothing special. this game is a coin flip. whichever team makes the mistakes will lose.

(thanks, nice to be back for a week)

Bills D has been pretty bad and Trent Edwards? Pah-leez.

Yes, we have not been able to sack the QB much, but here comes back our #1 sack leader from last year (IIRC) Calvin Pace. Nice and rested and an extra day to get ready for the game.

Drew Brees is the master of getting out of trouble, Chad Henne isn't. Drew Brees has weapons all around hime, Chad Henne doesn't. Drew Brees couldn't throw a TD against our D... Chad Henne?

Well, when your defense starts with a shutout, it is tough to keep that up.

I agree this game comes down to 2 rookie QBs and 2 defenses. The defense that can stop the run and get the turnovers wins.

    I like our chances.

As I like ours, Cameron Wake's emergence helps the defense out tremendously, last week we were without Joey Porter and we did not miss him, now with 3 passrushers and our run defense solidifying, we should be able to match up well with the Jets "O".

Sanchez went from 80% or higher on third down conversions to less than 50% against the Saints, it seems to be a trend with him right now.

i love how you put the entire weight of the Jets future into that fact. What about Kerry Collins? he scored on you guys. not to mention, the Saints DID score on you. Drew Brees had more success against the Jets than the Bills, and both games were 2+ TD ***-handings...without him doing much. 20-32 for 190yds. thats a nice day. when you are rushing for close to 140yds on a defense, carrying a 2 score lead most of the game, you dont have to pass.

People seem to miss the fact that Miami is averaging 183.5 yards rushing the ball. No team is going to have an easy time shutting down our rushing attack.
