Let's end the thread, because quote frankly, I don't think any other post summarizes Ginn's situation better than this.
I do agree that this thread has run its course though.....good arguements all except Buckeyeking.....
You miss the point......the question you should be asking is how can we have a productive passing offense, when our number one WR is no more of a red zone threat than our mascot?
I will say again what I've said over and over about Ginn. How can you judge his worth when he's had Pennington as his QB? Pennington could not, and did not, use Ginn's ability to get open deep. He's played one game with Henne. Let's see where he's at in a couple weeks. Ginn was the receiver running the deep routes, as our other receivers aren't deep threats, and Bess/Cam were running short routes. BIG SURPRISE that Bess/Cam caught more balls. However, without the threat of Ginn deep, how successful would Bess/Cam been short? Also, it's the Ginn bashers who have the bar set high. Because he was drafted 9th, you guys think he should be Randy Moss...even though Ginn is only 5'10" and 180lbs... Posted via Mobile Device
Chambers rookie year......Jay "dumb version of Pennington" Fielder as QB.....7 TD receptions Teddy Ginn in 36 games........4 TD receptions I'm pretty sure Chambers got run outta town.... yet Teddy is "mis-used" Believe me, us "bashers" have much lower expectations than some of you do......the way you guys promote his "potential", it's you that must think he can be Randy Moss. The guy lost his spot on ST.......and was last seen pouting on the bench during the second half of the game Sunday. I guess the coaches are "bashers" too
Because Ginn is but one spoke in the wheel. The QB is the hub. The QB numbers suck. As of right now, it's not a Ginn problem, it's a Dolphins passing attack problem.
If we had a real threat at WR....you would see that passing attack problem diminish in a hurry. It might not be solely a "Ginn problem"......but he is deff part of the problem and not the solution. The solution is finding someone better than him....
I always liked Fiedler, actually. He was a local for me, and sin e he went to Dartmouth, he wasn't dumb. Did we also still have McDuffie when Chambers was here? And when did we bring in Carter? All I'm saying is that there is an undue amount of criticism thrown ar Ginn. There should be some, but to act like we'd have dramatically better results with a different receiver here instead of Ginn is offbase, IMO. Posted via Mobile Device
Shhhhh......... Well then you need to picture someone like Brandon Marshall or Andre Johnson out there running around on the field for us last Sunday when Henne was struggling to find an open receiver downfield.....or what it would be like to have one of those guys in the red zone. It's statements like that, that keep these Ted Ginn "bashing" threads going....not our hate for him
Oh, I agree that those guys would be great in the red zone. I just don't know how much they would have changed the vertical game, especially under Penningon. Didn't Fiedler go 10-6 at least one season? Posted via Mobile Device
Not to hijack the thread, but we went 10-6 and 11-5 in consecutive years in spite of Fiedler, not because of it. Coincidentally, these were also Jay's only 2 complete seasons in Miami. 2000: His rating was a poor 74.5, and he threw for 14 TDs and 14 Ints. Not cutting it. 2001: His rating "jumped" 80.3. He did throw for 20 TDs, but he also threw 19 Ints. Again, pathetic. I get your a Fielder fan res, so I'm going to hold offf on going ballistic. I'll sum it up thusly: To me Fiedler squandered our best chances to win with a Super Bowl level D feating names like Taylor, Thomas, Madison, Surtain, and Marion. For that, I can never forgive him.
That was 2002 ... Fiedler wasn't doing too bad (85 QB Rating, 14 TDs, 9 Ints, in 10 games) ... but we had Ray Lucas starting for a big portion of the year that doomed us. Oh those dark days.
Too funny, all the Ginn supporters had to do to stop the Ginn bashing was mention Jay Fielder. Dammit they tricked us....
He might now be the lone WR in 2 TE sets. But why would that be? Wouldn't you always have your fastest and best all around WR in on that formation? If this is not a very strong hint who the best and most trusted WR is on this team I'm not sure what is.
I was at the Dolphins Jets game at the Meadowlands that year. Lucas fumbled the very first snap I believe, and the Jets scored a touchdown and the game was over in less than two minutes. Even Cleo Lemon would have been an upgrade over Lucas.
