Still not over. If anyone can come back it's the Red Sox against us. Looking forward to Kazmir going. Too much talk about how pitches well in Fenway, so I'm worried about a let down. But is Bucholtz ready for this big of a moment? Hopefully not.

Looking really good so far though.

Can you hold on? Can you get 1 more, or sweep?

I wouldn't bet on it either. I will say that the Angels should go balls to the wall for tomorrow's game because then they're looking at Lester and Beckett in Games 4 and 5.

I actually thought the Angels were going to win last year but lose this year. So go figure. Like I've been saying all along the playoffs are a pure crap shoot and any team could win it all (except for the Twins, let's be real). What had happened in 2004, 2007 and 2008 had zero to do with that was going to happen in 2009, hopefully the writers and fans will stop with that nonsense now.

I'm definitely going to hop on the Angels bandwagon from here on out though.

Completely agree about the playoffs being a crap shoot. You just never know what team will be hot for a few days and take a series. It makes baseball great and frustrating at the same time.

And welcome aboard the bandwagon, all are welcome

We got by Boston and they have owned us since 1986. Anything can happen in the playoffs. It should be a great series. Goodluck and heres to a great ALCS!:hi5:

Not the end of the world. Get rid of the two uncharacteristic fielding errors and it's a 2-1 game. Last two times we eliminated the Yankees from the playoffs we dropped game 1. No reason to panic yet.

I'd let him go. He's on the wrong side of 30 and I do think he's a bit overrated. He also doesn't have the speed he once did and he's going to wind up getting a 4 or 5 year deal worth 60 or 70 million or so.

I agree. I hope Arte Moreno and Mike Scioscia feel the same way. Perhaps his terrible post-season will convince them. I have no problem going into next season with Aybar leading off.

I hope they will let Brandon Wood have a serious shot at the 3rd base job or if they will just hand it over to Macier Isturiz. If they have no plans for Wood they might as well trade him before he has no value, although that value window might be closed already. I don't understand why they never give Wood a chance but Scioscia is a smart enough guy, I'm sure he knows more about Wood than I do.

Actually I have a BIG PROBLEM with Aybar leading off next year. 30 walks when over 500 at bats were done is flat out not good enough to hit leadoff. Also he is probably the least baseball savvy player on the team. I flat out do not trust him as the leadoff hitter.

He's young, he'll continue to take more pitches and walk more. He may not have a .395 OBS like Figgins, but is it worth paying Figgins what he'd want, at his age, for 40 more points?

The Angels wouldnt go hard for Halladay because the Jays wanted Aybar, he's obviously a big part of our future plans.

I suppose we could always sign someone to leadoff, but Aybar seems like the most likely person to take over if Figgins is gone, no? I could be wrong, he was simply the first name that popped in my head.

Fun game. I was kind of rooting for Fuentes to walk Swisher in that spot and then get the next guy out so the Yankees could take the field with the 1st or 2nd best player in the game today on the bench for a guy that was in the minor leagues until the last month of the season. Me thinks Girardi is a younger, skinner verison of Grady Little.

Not only that but if you pinch run for Arod with a guy with speed, don't you have to try to steal 2nd? Otherwise the whole pinch runner thing is completely pointless. Also why use Guzman over Gardner in that spot? Gardner has been doing it for the team the whole year.
