The Trifecta discovered Austin who I think went undrafted, the kids is a baller and I have a feeling Ireland will go after him this season. Afterall they love stealing those Cowboys. He is a former teamate of Nalbone and racked up 250 yards and two TDs this season.

Can the Trifecta please try to get this kid in Miami

I know many, including myself, wanted us to go after Austin in the offseason. However the Cowboys placed a 2nd round tender on the RFA and ended any hope of getting him.

A very good player with a lot of potential, IMO.

The Jets wer gonna offer him an offer sheet, but did not. Im Miami and im on the phone tommorrow or right now offering them a second for him. We need a WR so bad and this kid is a playmaker and always has been for Dallas.

I'd be very hesitant to give up such a high draft pick for him.

Everytime the kids starts he is effective. The kid has aver 18.9 yards a catch that my friend should tell you something in his young career.

I just don't agree with trading a high draft pick for someone who really isn't proven.

If you're talking about giving up a high pick for someone like Brandon Marshall, then I'd be for it... but someone like Austin Miles? Nah..

Your right maybe not a 2nd, I agree that is a high pick and I was overeacting. Now, the kid has upside.

Miles Austin was discovered by Parcells and Ireland. He was an UFA out of Mammouth college. You have heard about the college before we drafted John Nalbone this year out of Mammouth. Anyways Austin has averaged 18.9 yards a catch through out his career. With todays huge game Austin now has 351 yards 15 Rec 3 TDS and is Averaging 22.0 yards a catch this season. That is right up there with Jericho Cotchery, Steve Smith, Vincent Jackson and Reggie Wayne. Listen to this he is a KR as well and has average 24.3 yards a return.

The kid is an excellent prospect and I hope Miami brings him in.

That has as much weight as saying everytime Henne starts he wins.

Austin has 1 career start. Today.

Austin has potential nothing more...to say he has been a playmaker is absurd

2007-5 receptions for 76 yards with 0 tds
2008-13 receptions for 278 yards with 3 tds
    2009- 15 receptions for 331 yards with 2 tds

1 great game does not make a career
don't we see Ginn with 1 great game per season and what does that help us with???????

iF AUSTIN CONTINUES(MORE THAN 1 GAME)for the rest of the season then you might want to address him as a free agent at seasons end...not after 1 game for gods sake

Guys for all you saying this is his one good performance you are absolutely wrong. The kid had a heck of a game last year againt the Redskins. 115 yards a TD for the W I think not sure. Im sorry I dont think it is that the kid is not good more like Jones giving up his life for the super Bust Roy Williams.

To me Austin will be a playmaker in this league and dont be surprised if Miami signs him next season when he is a FA.

I believe he was one of the players BP and Co wanted when they first came here but Dallas didn't want to part with him.

Miles Austin is a quality player but I don't think he's a standout nor do I think he's worthy of trading for unless they want to take a fifth rounder at best. He's got some good hands, he can run routes pretty well and he's not a bad red zone target because he can jump very well but I wouldn't trade much for him.

Here is my question to you guys is he better than what we have?

Ginn is a non factor this year. Camarillo & Bess are good players & Hartline we know very little of and Turner cannot see the field. I would take my chances with Miles. Regardless I still would draft a WR if Austin is signed.

I don't think he's much better than what we have, which is why I'm hesitant to give up a pick for him. He's not a stand out and he will not take this offense to a new level.

At this point we need weapons all over the field and we dont have jack to help our young QB. Ginn to me is a waste of a pick and of a player, I have lost all hope for him and nobody will change my mind about that. I love Bess and I think Camarillo is an excellent football player, but neither would be more than a third WR on half the teams in the NFL. Hartline looks like a nice player and reminds me alot of Anthony Gonzalez, I think he will be a real nice number two WR. Turner we have no idea.

We have no true number 1 reciever and our reciever rotation is not getting done. When Ginn is being benched it is not good, especially in a game we are winning 38 to 10. I wish Turner would be given a chance, because at this point we need to do whatever it takes to find an answer at WR.

You know it is bad when Miami is looking at Free Agent WR.

Why do you want to bring in Austin when he's not any better than Camarillo?

The guy has 6 TD's in his last 28 receptions...... dating back to the beginning of the 2008 season.

Ginn, Cam and Bess combined during that period, 5 TD's in 210 receptions.

Compared to our guys, not only is he a "play maker"............he's Randy Freakin Moss

Camarillo this year is not what he was last year and Camarillo stats dont even match up with Austin. I have seen Austin play, obviously the Cowboys are alot on TV and you can even compare Camarillo with Austin they are two completely different players.

Thankyou Jetsuck finally somebody is understanding me. Look guys I bleed aqua and orange, I love my fins with my heart, but our WR compared to half the squads in this league suck.

Bess is great, Camarillo is a fine football player and Hartline is showing nice upside, but Ginn is horrible and Turner is not playing. While most teams have five WR we have three reciever we can currently count on. We suck at the reciever position

I've seen Austin play as well and I don't think he's as great as he seems. Like I said, he's a quality talent but he's not a stand out and certainly not a player I would give up a second rounder for.

I'm not arguing the lack of talent at the WR position, I just don't see Miles Austin as much of an upgrade as you do when you factor everything in.

Well for one Turner is inactive. So now you have only 3 WR. Fasano has not been a factor this season so you cannot even count him in the recieving game. Miami only choice would be Cobbs who played some slot reciever last year. Now you have a RB playing reciever meaning you have a player out of position. Miami needs to start activating Turner, how I dont know. Cause with Porter playing this week and Wake now showing he is a player there will have to be three inactives for Turner to play.

Say what you want about Miles, in one game he just equaled our #1 WR's TD total for his past 21 games.

He's got more upside than any WR on our roster

Did you see the secondary that he just played? I think your beloved Ted Ginn could have put up 150 on them.

If you're talking about Ginn, that would be incorrect, because he has 4 TDs in his past 21 games.

Did you see the secondary we played last week. The Bills secondary is filled of backups. They have lost all their starters and Ginn got benched. Good players kill sorry secondary they dont get benched, please.

Austin did what he had to do, Ginn shoked like he did against the Colts, Chargers and Bills. Dont get me started on Ginn. I was having a great discussion about Austin please lets not make this into a Ginn thread cause I will freaking have heart attack.

If he's a waste of a player, as you said, then we'd be better off with only 3 WRs, and the TEs, and Cobbs etc.

Is this the same secondary that held Derek Anderson to 2-17 passing today, and Drew Brees to like 170 yards and no TDs the week before we played them?

They are a bad defense, but it isn't because of their secondary's coverage ability.

I think Ginn had about three targeted passes in his direction against Buffalo when we were running the ball damn well?

And everyone right now is desperate for a wide receiver that can make plays and when a player like Austin has a big game, he's latched on to and wanted. He is not worth a second rounder. I'm a conservative buyer, I buy things that I feel are worth the price tag on them. Miles Austin does not fall under that category for me.

Look Ginn to me is a waste and I would much rather have Turner in who can develope than Ginn, that is my point.

How about this stats Ginn a 1st round pick has four career TDs. Austin an UFA has 6 career TDs. I have seen enough of Ginn and has family and stop, drop and roll. Austin has upside and plays with more heart than Ginn and that is why I would love Austin in a Fin Uni.
