Tomorrow night's game is a must win after having lost the first three consecutively. If we continue to dominate the trenches, run the ball with impunity & Henne settles into his new role @ QB (creating a supporting cast with the passing game), we can begin to close the gap with the overconfident & arrogant 3-1 Jets (tied w/NE for 1st). A win would place us only one game behind them with momentum to move forward in the AFCE. I've go a good feeling about this one: borrowing from a previous post made earlier: we'll just have to go out & open a big can of WupAzz on that loud ugly bunch Let there be Blood! this is the only thing they will understand that will finally shut them up. it will be a very long & humiliating night for NewYork: 24/6-Miami they wont' be as enthusiastic about our second meeting I guarantee it.
Having lost the first three, almost every game from here out is a must-win. We can afford to lose two more games and still make the playoffs IMHO.
as poorly as the season started for us we are now in control of our own destiny. We win tomorrow we are one game out of 1st place. We win our next four and we are no worse then tied for 1st place with NE.
We can lose up to three more if they are the right games. Tomorrow night's game is not one of the 'right' ones to lose however. A strong showing within the division will give us more wiggle room with the overall record.
Must win indeed, but saying that a defense that has given up 3 TDs in 4 games is going to let the Dolphins and Chad Henne put up 24 points... wow. BZ
I don't care if we win 3-0 a win is a win, so really don't care how pretty or ugly it is. I honestly think we can score on the Jet's, I am not afraid of their D, and I feel we are the best team in the AFC East even right now at 1-3.
So the Dolphins offense is going to score more than the Saints, Patriots, Titans and Texans offenses? Why, because you have more weapons? Because Chad Henne is better than Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Kerry Collins and Matt Shaub? Really? I am not the one in these threads saying this is a blowout (predicted 28-24) but come, have a little respect for the teams we have played. BZ
Nice.. there is the true crazy fan... Jets: 3-1 Pats: 3-2 Dolphins: 1-3 Bills: 1-4 And the Dolphins are the best team in the AFC East. Man on man... it just get better with each reply. BZ
Relax, it was a joke! I didn't predict a score. The Jets are tough, its going to be a brutal hard hitting game. I have no clue whats going to happen, the Jets will put pressure on Henne, we don't know how he will react. The Fins will put pressure on Sanchez, and he has shown in his brief time that he makes mistakes with ball security. Its going to come down to as funny as this sounds, but which QB plays the game like Pennington, smart and no mistakes. That's who will win.
Totally agree. This is D vs D and QB vs QB, Rookie vs Rookie. The Saints game showed us we have a real rookie, so can he bounce back or is he going to keep playing like a rookie. Hopefully, he bounces back, gets a lot of short fields and nice new weapon in Braylon Edwards. That is one thing that gives me hope (as I sit here in South Beach... just itching to go to the game tonight)... We are 3-1 and just go three new weapons back in Pace/Shepard/Edwards. All good news. BZ
Pick? Yes, probably. Pick six? Hope not. So can I put down Chad2 for at least 5 sacks, loss of 20+ yards and 2 Ints? BZ
Yeah cause you have been dominating winning teams. Only team you beat with a winning record was the Pat's and they aren't that good. Not crazy when I look back we are still the AFC East Champions and if I recall you started off fast last year and faded hard where we came on strong. I am glad you are happy that you are buying into the media saying how good the Jets are but at the end of the year you will fade.
In the NFL every game is a must win game I highly doubt teams are coached and practice hey we can afford to lose this one. This great sport literally is a game of inches and those few can determine if you go to the playoffs or having a losing team. To win tonight we must have game execution, that means no more excuses for Ginn or anyone else. To control the trenches you must have excellent play action pass on your side, if we could get Bess and Cam to get open in the middle of the field we will make the jest defense back out of the box allowing more running space, and don't be surprised to see the wild cat come into play tonight more than 10 times. GO PHINS
It seems like all the Dolphins smack is "We started slow last year and won, you started strong and faded" We faded because our QB got hurt, threw 2 TDs and 11 Ints in the last 4 games. We went 1-3 down the stretch. Our defense also got worn down. Favre is gone, so I don't expect that to happen again and we have a new defense coach to make sure our D is strong at the end (remember that Baltimore Ravens D in the playoffs, yeah, that guy). On the flip side, the Dolphins had a soft schedule last year, a good QB with LOTS OF EXPERIENCE who threw only 7 Ints all year. Now the Dolphins lost their QB, are starting a rookie QB, have no receiving weapons, are off to a worse start and have a really tough schedule ahead. So why would this year be anything like last year? BZ
Doubtful for tonight's game. Cotchery is a game time decision/questionable. Strickland is out. Woody and Rhodes are both questionable. Feely, Izzo, Leonhard, and Thomas are all probable. Sounds like you're missing more than what you're getting back. This is what I mentioned to you the other day, guess we were looking at two different injury reports. Good Luck tonight, gonna be a good one.
Hopefully not the INTs, but I'd say at least 3-4 sacks are a given. Henne doesn't seem to have a feel for the pass rush.
Wait don't you have a Rookie QB? As for us, obviously the passing game isn't our strength and it may never be, but our defense is playing well now and our running game has been great since week 2. Like I said in another post, we will win tonight and then in 3 weeks come back and finish you off, then you can figure out who you blame for your collapse.
Cotchery is playing (reported) the only person out is Strickland who is a backup and we have played 2/3 games without him. Lowery will do fine and Lito is back. Net/net we are down 1 player who we haven't had for 3 weeks and we go back 3 players who we haven't had for 3/4 weeks. That sounds like an upgrade to me. My hopes were kept low going into the season. I predicted us (publicly) that the Jets would go 8-8 (same as Dolphins). Right now the Jets defense is way above where I thought it would be and Sanchez has done more with less than I thought he would do as a rookie starting QB. This is a big test for him. Can't wait to witness it. BZ
Great. Maybe he will make Gholston look like a top 6 pick! Wow... so not only are the 1-3 Dolphins going to beat the 3-1 Jets tonight, but going to come back into our "rented" home and beat us again? For your sake I hope so. Dream the dream. BZ
Link? Injury report I got those names from was just updated this morning. Regardless, should be a good game.
This was of Sat WR Jerricho Cotchery didn't practice today because of a hamstring injury and is listed as questionable for Monday's game at Miami. RT Damien Woody [foot] also didn't practice today and also is questionable. CB Donald Strickland [ankle] didn't practice and is out. CB Lito Sheppard [quad] was limited and is listed as doubtful. K Jay Feely also didn't practice because of personal reasons, but is expected to play. For Miami, LB Joey Porter [hamstring] was limited and is questionable.
Latest one I saw said that Cotchery made the trip to Miami and will be a gametime decision, the rest is the same as what you have listed. Not that the Jets had a very intimidating offense in the first place but take away their top two WRs and throw one out there with only 3 practices (and hands of stone) and I like our chances if we can take care of the ball.
Sacks... probably... Turnovers, not so sure. Henne has one turnover in a game and a half. On the flip side Sanchez has seven (5 INTS and 2 fumbles lost)
let it be known: the NY Jests are about to take a nose dive into the Miami Ocean they will self-destruct, then sink to the depths of the Bermuda Triangle of the NFL gonna be blood in the waters @ LandSharkStadium & all of Dolfandom shall rejoice! 24/6-Miami GoFish! be aware: we are the reigning AFCE Champions all roads to the SuperBowl come through Miami, govern yourself accordingly
