When he came out there I panicked. But, when he grabbed the first down and Henne came back out, all was well

Initially, I was thinking, "This cannot be good". I knew that the first would be a run (either by himself or by handoff). When he stepped back, it looked like he was going to pass, and for that nanosecond, I shat myself. Then when he ran for the 1st, I sat there in my soiled pants happy he did not throw the ball.....

it's the first time in a while for the Dolphins that i was initially scared by what was happening on the field, but then immediately telling myself, "hey, these guys know what they're doing. it'll all work out."

Very mixed emotions for me, cause Pat White excites the hell out of me and I love watching him play, but what a ridiculous, ridiculous, ridiculous time to put him in. I don't really agree or disagree with it, but it took balls to put him out there, and it worked well enough.

I'll tell you what i was thinking after Whites 6 yard run. "Man, when White gets more experience, that is going to be the scariest sight for any defense to see"

Oh yeah, and all you Pat White doubters who kept saying he isn't quick, where you at? Looked pretty quick on that play.

I'm one of the few that like the Pat White pick but the timing of that last nite was just insane.

I was at the Stadium and when I saw him come in, I and about half the Stadium thought the game was done at that point. That took a pair and thank god it worked.

On a positive note I think it helps the kid gain some confidence.

I was loving it, more speed and ability to get the much needed first down. I had all the confidence in the world with him being in the game.

I agree, he hadn't looked very quick in his limited action so far, but I think that must have just been hesitation. He looked very quick and shifty on that play. That's the Pat White I've been waiting too see. Who wants to play defense against that? People are already frustrated as heck with the Wildcat. Just wait

    I liked it...and I totally expected a QB draw up the middle....honestly.

I knew they wouldn't let him throw it but the threat of it spread the D out and allowed for a pretty easy first down.

Its not much but it should help his confidence some.

My guess is that no one was more surprised than White himself, when he recieved that zero hour call, at that pivotal point in the game.

As for what was I thinking??

Gene Hackman. The brash, feisty Submarine Captain Frank Ramsey, in Crimson Tide.
goading an agitated, but regardful XO, (Denzel Washington), into questioning his methods, and command of the crew, after he opts to exercise a fire drill, while the ship consequently happened to be on fire, reflecting in so many words his belief that theres no better opportunity to test one's ability under fire, than when completely engulfed by it.

I wouldn't go that far, but I was certain White wasn't in the game for laughs, he can play some ball, and to be honest, I thought he was going to pass the ball.

Sparano doesn't mind gambling and that has to help White heading into the bye week, his first real action all season and it worked out positively.

he was out there because RW and Cobbs were injured at the time ... so in order to run the WC, he had to go on the field -- it's that simple ...

the good news is that it was successful ... probably, because the entire D was keyed on RB ...

My second thought was thought Henning must have enormous steel cojones.

    I second that emotion.

It was like watching two passenger trains heading towards each other, and just praying that switch in the tracks is working.

The amount of relief I had when he picked up the first, and trotted off field was HUGE.

I stopped breathing for a while.
Then I just hoped all the trust I've had in the coaches came through. And, once again it did.
I'm going to get oxygen for the next game.

Did anyone else notice he almost slipped and fell on his drop back? I think he was really nervous. I held my breath the whole time.
