    Works great for us!

Pretty sure I would not do that deal if I were KC.

This not true, the dolphins can activate roth before the trade deadline on oct 20 and then trade him.

i feel ya brother, iam not confident in bowes hands, at all, however hes got talent and hes physical, ginn will take pressure off him, idk yet, i do know we have to counter the jets move getting braylon...

Damn, its the first time ive been let down by the regime..i wanted braylon, could u imagine that trio, Jake, Chad and Braylon...missed out.

so, give me Bowe, Matt jones, or Josh cribbs...

Supposedly the Dolphins contacted the Browns about Joshua Cribbs.

Only problem is he wants a new contract, and the Browns will probably have a high asking price.

    Exactly..

I read a comment on a thread where someone said something about this being a reaction to the Jets trade. Well part of it is, and for the same reason we drafted those corners. You have to play keep up in your division.

But mostly I just think this offense could make very good use of a big, physical play maker. And I'm not thrilled with the idea of drafting one...

i dont wanna another rookie in this bunch either, its either anquan or bowe, noone is gonna be available in free agency accept boldin, i wish bowe had boldins hands. still need to think about that cat though.

I think i would take a chance on matt jones..and let teddy fufill his potential with henne.

The big FA would likely be Vincent Jackson, but San Diego has to make resigning him a priority.

The only WR id feel like trading for would be Bowe or maybe Antonio Bryant of the Bucs are shopping him (heard the rumor somewhere).

Higgins and Cribbs are nothing but return specialists with gimmick potential.

But if Bowe is available for a reasonable price and we dont get him, then I will be dissapointed with the front office. That kind of player will open this offense wide.

Matt Roth for Cribbs is a fair deal. they should throw in a 5th as well to make up for the one we lost for Thigpen.

Why are going to trade Roth now w/o a long term replacement? We can't keep JT around forever. Wake is still unproven. I don't think Roth is irreplaceable by any means. I just don't see who fills those shoes if we do trade him.

the point is that Roth's biggest talent is stopping the run, and we're doing GREAT in that area without him. so he's become despensible for the time being. yes, that won't last forever, but there's no guarantee anything will last forever. we're playing to win now, so we need an impact player in the kicking game that we don't have at ALL right now. we can fill his shoes in the draft, free agency, etc...we're good now without him. but we can't wait till the offseason to address the return game.

I'd love to see Lee Evans in Aqua and Orange, but would that even be possible? He is totally underused in Buffalo, and wasting his career at this point.

Bowe would be my second choice. That actually makes sense, if you consider the new Chiefs-Dolphins connection. But Pioli won't get rolled, either, so if we're to get Bowe, it won't be for nothing!

I'm fine with Roth and a fourth honestly. Any higher than that and I'd just go with what we have and be happy.

I agree with you in principle for sure, but if we could get a guy like Bowe, wouldn't it be worth at least trying? Roth and a pick would not be too much IMO, as we seem to keep picking up picks here and there. I like the process these guys are using to build the team, believe me, but if Bowe can be had for a decent price, I don't see how we don't jump all over it. But if the price is too high, leave him on the shelf and keep building the way we have been. But if he's on sale, swipe him up!

I understand your point of view and agree on some parts.

But are we really that great at stopping the run, or are teams passing it on us because we can't stop the pass and that just makes our run D stats look great? We have been exposed in pass coverage, big time. We did a great job against the Falcon's, but the Jets seem to be able to run the ball when they had to against us. I am not sold our run stopping defense just yet.

I am not sure we are playing for right now to be honest. This is year 2 of rebuilding. To think we are going to seriously compete for a SB this year I think is a reach, playoffs or AFC East sure. Not the SB though; the defense would have to improve dramatically. I think if they trade for Cribb's they would have a long term plan for him. So I am not sold on the 'now' aspect of it.

To address the kicking game I think I would rather accquire a true #1 WR and then put Ginn back there.

I am not saying I would be upset in acquiring Cribbs, to be clear. I almost wonder after everyone found out what the Jet's paid for Edwards if they are just seeing if Mangini would give up another talented player for a fairly low asking price.

the reality is we are 2-3 ... we have looked good the last 2 weeks ... but does that translate into a SB contender at this point ? our O can get us there, but our D can not at this point ... that is the question the FO must resolve. every season is unique in how it works out vs what you planned ...

equally, IF you could bring in a Bowe on the cheap right now ... you probably outta do it - as you only ever get so many chances to do that. IF Roth is healed and ready to go ... he is not the guy to trade. why? the defense is going to need him (heck they need him now) ... and we are likely to need him next year - even if we do FINALLY pick up some OLB/ILBs, regardless of how Wake progresses the rest of the year. We can not rely on Ayodele, JP and JT next year -- it would be nice if we had NONE of them.

what i do see them doing is taking a chance on Jones ... he doesn't 'cost' us anything ... additionally, i look to the FO to use the rest of this year to size up Bess, Cam and Hartline ... as we definitely won't keep more than 2 of these next year - with Cam being the likely odd man out.

IF we traded with KC today ... i envision CAM being part of that trade, without a doubt. CAM and two mid round picks ... similar to the Edwards trade ... Pioli will like CAM, based off of how Welker worked out in NE ... but realistically, i don't see a trade happening.

agree 100% about the YAC discussion ... we need, we need, we need !

Wake is a pass rusher right now. His liability against the run is an issue. He cannot set the edge and cannot play the strong side. He is better suited to replace Porter. That said, If we can trade Roth for a receiver, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I get Roth for #1 WR. I don't get Roth for a kick returner.
