If the asking price for Bowe is a 2, I think we should do it like yesterday. The guy has only been around for 3 years, is obviously a better Receiver than anyone we have, and there's no guarantee that we get someone better (or even as good) in this years draft.

Since we (likely) won't be using our 2nd Round pick to take a QB this year, I say do it. Chances are slim we get a guy like Bowe with that pick.

I don't know if I like giving up our second rounder. Yes, there is a slim chance hitting on a talent like Bowe in the second, but that's not a priority position IMHO. I would rather be going for a LB or FS in the second round come this April.

I was thinking the same thing to some degree, but maybe you get a WR this year so that he and Henne can get familiar with each other. Since the passing game has some timing aspects to it. Maybe you get a WR in here before a LB or safety because they don't require as much time to 'gel' as a WR QB combo? Just thinking out loud.

Oh I hear ya brother. That wouldn't ruin my day at all if it happened. I'm just envisioning another "double-up" at LB next April. And of course, I'm expecting Eric Norwood to be one of them.

Parcell's isn't afraid to draft a position in bunches is he

Didn't he draft two or three DL his first year in Dallas. Now 2 CB's this year.. when he wants to fill a position he doesn't mess around :tongue2:

If the asking price on Bowe is only a 2 we should have pulled the trigger already. That would be a no-brainer IMO. Much rather have a true #1 WR than Cribbs as a returner.

if it's between Baltimore and Miami sending a 2nd to KC, they'd probably take our deal since Baltimore is more likely to have a lower 2nd rounder. i hope that's what it comes down to. :)

If the asking price for Bowe really is a 2nd round pick, I'd seriously jump off a cliff if we didn't do it... :jump:

I say ... No and No! No more draft picks given away this season, Please!

Come on guys we just scored back to back scores of 38 and 31 points. If we are going to trade for somebody then let it be for need on the defensive side. Is there anyone out there that could make us better that would trump a draft day pick at the same position? If not then I say we keep our early picks.

that's a good point on the scores. I think with Henne in now, Ginn will have more consistency and big games in the future. I say we save our pick for defense, which is where we actually NEED the help

To answer your question, yes. Dwayne Bowe would trump any 1st or 2nd rounder with Dez Bryant being the exception, but he'd be a top 10 pick, and I'd much rather get a 25 year old WR who's already developed and proven.

You know it is funny to me that with us already making three trades with KC there are not more rumors of Bowe coming to Miami.

    A 2nd? Nope.

    A 3rd and a player... Maybe Roth and a 4th? Yep

looks like KC is asking for more since we havent heard any news that Bowe has been traded to the Ravens.

I say a 2nd and Patrick Turner or Brian Hartline for Bowe

I prefer that we dont trade our 4th round pick since we still have alot of needs to fill.

I think if we are trading draft picks for a WR at this point then what we're saying is that we just wasted two picks last draft on Turner and Hartline.
I'm not convinced that WR is a need.
You who are advocating trading for a WR ask yourself this. Do you think that Pennington's limitations were holding our passing game back? Were these limitations keeping Ginn from being the down field threat that he was meant to be? If you say yes, then why do we want to give up a high draft pick for Bowe?
If the above is true then we have what we need. In fact Henne already proved that he can hit Ginn in stride.
It seems to me we have a bigger need on defense. How about a Safety who can give support against a passing attack? Or an OLB to step in for our aging starters?
Look at our losses and tell me we need offense more than defense.
One last thought. That down field pass from Henne to Ginn was a thing of beauty. We only need him to make 1-2 of those each game. That's it!
We need to stop the other team's passing game. That's our shortcoming. If we could have even slowed Payton Manning down a little bit we would have beaten the Colts.

A 2nd rounder would be stealing him......

The guy is worth our first, easily.

I'd give them a 2 and a 4 or our first and Turner.......

If Bowe ends up on a team not named Miami, I'm gonna be livid.

I doubt they make a trade, but man our offence would sick with bowe.I give up are 2nd round pick for bowe and use our first for an inside linebacker. If you think about it are offence would be complete with bowe. What else could we possibly need on offence?

I hope that turns out to be the case. I know he's got a lot of speed, and he's supposed to be a very good tackler, although I think I remember reading he tends to take bad angles. In any event, it would be great if he develops into who we need.

as of now we most likely will spend one of the first 2 picks on a wr anyway, why not spend it on a young proven guy?

maybe our D sucks against the long ball because they didnt see it enough in practice.

perhaps they should just practice it more, make both the offense and defense better when it comes to deep passes.

I would like to give them a 3rd and greg cam or turner for bowe. Are defence stinks but we would be fun to watch again.Bess would become wes welker with bowe and ginn on the outside.I really think we would win the afc east and a playoff game or two.
Its nice to dream but I don't really think it is going to happen.
