The seedings hurt us. Its a blatant attempt by UEFA to see their marquee teams qualify for the World Cup and in the process hindering the other un-seeded teams. Not going to complain though, I certainly would'nt have been if we drew Greece.

Its actually pretty interesting seeing the French reaction on a few websites that I've come across. It seems that they really didn't want to draw Ireland and are worried they are in for a tough encounter like the Italians had.

This is probably the best time to be playing them, you guys are pretty tough at the moment and the French were probably dreading getting you guys. Certainly going to be a good game and fingers crossed you'll get through (plus, from a selfish point of view the French gunners will get a rest during the summer! lol)

Its definitely not as bad as getting Russia, they were the ones that I dreaded. With the quality France have though, its going to be tough to stop them going forward when they have the likes of Henry, Anelka and Benzema. To get the better of France over two legs seems daunting, but if we keep it tight in the first leg and dont let them take the initiative, then who knows what might happen at the Stade de France.

The winner by Pato was pure class, not just because of his finish but also because of Seedorf's cross.

    USA USA USA USA USA

I haven't watched much soccer over the years, but I saw the game against Brazil when the US was up 2-0 at the half. I was flipping through the channels when I came upon the game and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was like "No way is the US up 2-0 against Brazil right now. I must be hallucinating." Such a bummer that they lost. And then I watched the game against Mexico when the US scored first then proceeded to lose 2-1. I think it was a good thing that the US lost, because I think the Mexican fans were ready to riot if they had lost that game.

what happened to Madrid in the second, eh? completely fell apart!

BTW, Ronaldinho is a shell of his former self. It's like Milan has 10 guys on the pitch when he's out there. Pato was spectacular though

Yeah, Ronaldinho doesn't look too good going forward but I've seen him do well with his back toward the goal and setting up his teammates. I don't know why they don't use him more like that.

It's said that Arsene Wenger has finally money to spend and it's said to be around £100 million. The latest reports are saying that Arsene is targeting Inter's Mario Baolitelli for £20. I actually believe this report because Wenger has admitted in the past that he will keep an eye on Balotelli and is an admirer of his game.

I like how soccer players fall to the ground instantly with any type of contact. They start twitching and then look up at the ref and see that there isn't a call....then they immediately get back on their feet and start running.

    Got acting?

    a lot of upsets lately.

have to say i'm happy to see Fulham dismantle Liverpool. not that i don't like Liverpool, I just like to see Fulham have some success.

Hull City needs to stop being so righteous and play Altidore already. they're already staring relegation in the face. how could it be worse? why not play him and see what you got?

Russia and France I can see going through, but the others I think will be a lot closer. Greece are a good side and alot will depend on their trip to Kiev. I think they will beat Ukraine at home but how they perform in the un-favouable conditions in Kiev is what will decide it.

Portugal I am still not convinced about and Bosnia-Herz are a very dangerous side, especially at home. Portugal will not enjoy going their an will need to press their advantage at home if they want to qualify.

As far as what will be shown on TV in the USA, anyone know? The only qualifying game I'm aware of that will be shown is the much anticipated New Zealand vs Bahrain!! WOOT... :pity: Fox Soccer Channel is also showing a couple of friendly matches in the morning.. namely England vs Brazil! Also believe Holland vs Italy will be on "Gol"... Any of the spainish channels showing any of these euro playoff games?
