Bye week is upon us, but you know you are still going to watch the NFL, so what games are you going to watch today? I've got the Bucs and Panthers or the Ravens at Favreasota.
I'll be flipping between Giants vs Saints, Packers/Lions, and Chiefs/Redskins probably. Then the late games I will keep my eye on Bills/Jets and Titans/Pats.
Right now im switching between Minnifarve/Ravens and Saints/Giants. Jills/Jets and maybe a stream of Titans/Pats if I can find one.
The Giants D is good, but that NO offense is the best Ive seen since the Rams in 00. They look very similar. If the Giants are having problems, Im really am worried.
Saints and Colts are very similar teams, they score quickly, then have a smaller quicker defense to rush the passer.
It looks like you have to play the saints the way we played the colts, just grind things out on the ground and keep Brees off of the field.
I'm watching Saints v. Giants. The Giants can't get a break (Corey Webster just got called for a HORRIBLE pass interference call) but they are hanging around still. The thing I'm noticing watching the Saints is how good their pass protection is. There is 5:00 left in the first half and Drew Brees has not been TOUCHED accept when he ran for a first down.
we'll see if it changes after coughlin makes halftime adjustments. from what I remember he is pretty good at it.
In the browns/steelers game the Steelers got awarded a 1st down on a play that looked short of the marker, then two plays later Ward was given a TD catch that he didn't retain possession on. Thankfully it is being reviewed.
naw its too hard to see. Im not sure its a td, he seems to have the ball back when he gets turned back.
They REALLY miss Bart Scott. Ray Lewis is getting exposed and their pass rush is not that good. They are going to have to start scoring points to win I think.
And they are not a "young" defense either, and you see that sometimes, a team's offense improves and the defense sort of loses it's intensity.
Right now I am also catching the Saints/Giants game and will pay attention to our division rivals' games later. Tonight I will be watching Falcons/Bears on Sunday night Football.
The Giants are still hanging in there. Watching the Saints defense gives me hope for our ability to smash it down their throats next week. That said, the only way we'll be able to do that is not allow them to score at will and take us out of the run game. Paul P has to come up with something this week to get some heat on Brees and hit him because if his jersey stays clean next week we'll get blown out.
...and right after I sa6y that Eli throws a bad pick under pressure. The Saints blitz a lot and take chances. Henne has to be cool like last week against the Jets. Our defense has to keep us in the game so we can rin and get into 3rd and 3-5, giving Henne short underneath options when the Saints blitz.
When do the Redskins have a bye? I think Zorn gets the axe and they go in-term until Snyder can hire Shanahan in the offseason.
Jake Delhomme is having a miserable season, another pick 6 out of the Waterboy.... Tampa may get their first win today.
We've been flipping between the saints and minny's game. The saints are going to be tough. Brees is better than I realized. We're pulling for the giants and ravens, but so far, we're not doing so good. I hope our D is ready next week. We're going to need ALL we can get out there.
I know Padre. But I want these un-defeated teams done. I don't like farve and although I have nothing against the saints until next week. I wanted to see losses for them. Plus if anyone ever got the next perfect season, I would hate for it to be farve. That would just make me sick. I think the only team doing a perfect season that wouldn't hurt so bad is if the colts did it.
