Welcome to the 2009 season, Matt Roth http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/2009/10/welcome-to-the-2009-season-matt-roth.html
Damn this could be a really good shot in the arm for our Defense. I LOVE the idea of Rotty lining up in the Sam and moving JT to Will.
I really hope that he can come in and be effective immediately. The guy plays with a mean streak similar to Jake Grove.
I know for a fact that this guy has been hitting the gym like a madman the past however many weeks. Time to start wrecking people Matt!!!!
Ok guys, what's all your takes on this? Do you think he's faking? He supposedly lied to Tony, will that keep him out? Why do you think he would be so stupid as to pull a stunt like this? AND, maybe JT isn't as fast etc. as people think he should be, but at least he's ON the field and playing. He nor JP are sitting and whining about a supposed injury. Could it be that he saw JT take his place and no one missed him, now he's decided he wants it back? I really don't know what to think. I did hear the presser where Tony first heard about the groin injury. So, My first thought was roth is stupid. Now, I don't know what to think. Was he injured, sick or what? Thanks guys.
He's gonna be one sore puppy after Sundays game (if he plays). I don't know if I would want to be in his shoes. Don't know what kind of conditioning he's been getting, but this might be setting him up for another injury.
nothing about Roth would imply that he tapped out ... it will come out sooner or later what the 'real' deal was ... but it just doesn't seem like his character to make up something, or to haggle over a contract ... heck, isn't this year a contract year for him anyways ... so, he needs to be on the field to earn his next contract. during the offseason, i repeatedly asked for a better SOLB than Roth, but since we elected not to take that route - we need him there and on the field. i firmly believe we will see an instant impact when he hits the field.
they won't play him Sunday his first game will probably be against the Jets I wonder what the roaster will look like after they make room for him? who sits to allow him to play?
I've never for one second thought Roth was faking anything. He has always been the type of guy who is going to play if it's at all possible. We've always known Roth to be an old school warrior, now some would believe he was possibly faking because him feelings was hurt? Please.
How do you know that? I don't understand where Matt Roth has gotten a reputation for being old-school or a stand-up guy. Is he more old-school or stand-up than Kendall Langford or Davone Bess? I'm not trying to be provocative, but please give me some actual examples of why you feel this way? What has he done to merit this type of reputation? I just don't see it.
I think that he injured himself doing something that he was not supposed to be doing. Then he made it worse by being (scared/embarrassed/stupid) and lying about it and trying to cover it up. Hopefully he has learned his lesson and is healthy and ready to contribute to this team.
the only examples anyone will likely offer is the way he plays the game, relentless, and that he played nearly all last year with a groin injury at a new position ...
