Three young Qb's will more than likely have new addresses next season: Brady Quinn...7 career starts Jason Campbell..two year starter Tavaris Jackson...12 starts Campbell is a Free Agent after this season, Quinn is on the trade block and Jackson has no room in MN and was shopped for a later round pick. Which one would a franchise be wise to acquire and why? (the number of starts is an estimate, but Campbell and Jackson have led their teams to the playoffs)
If those are my only choices........ I'm going to retire and go play golf To be my starter, none of them. To be my backup, I'd take Quinn (out of those 3).
I'll take Jason Campbell and let him finally learn an offense more than one year. Let him sit a year, get it all soaked in and then put him out there. I wouldn't complain about taking him, running a version of the spread offense. He could probably do well with it.
And he has been productive as a Starter, but for whatever reason the Redskins tried to get rid of him and more than likely will try to again. If he went to the 49ers he could do really well imho.
Derrick Andersen would make a good backup QB on any team except Cleveland. That team is just a hopeless situation at the moment for any Qb.
I wouldnt take any of the 3. Maybe as backups, but if they are your starters, your in trouble imo. Never really seen anything impressive out of any of them.
I would take Jackson. He has great mobility, speed and a good arm. He needs to work on his accuracy though. He reminds me of Vick somewhat.
I'd take Thigpen over any of them....but if I have to choose I'd take Campbell. I think on a different team with a real direction, decent coaching he could be a Qb that you can make the playoffs with. I don't know about Quinn I guess he has the most potential but there just seems to be something missing with him, work ethic or desire maybe? Not sure.
Quinn is tough, and has some moxie, he just is risk adverse and inaccurate, the worst of both worlds, will not throw deep, to scattershot to make a living throwing dumpoff passes.
