The day any franchise shows real loyalty to a coach or player or staff is the day we can start complaining loyalty be shown back to a team. Fisher has kept his job because he's been a winner, the second that stops for a season or two, he'll be gone.
I want to say id understand but to be honest i just wouldnt. It would make me angry to say the least.
Look at it this way, If Don Shula or Bill Parcells came out one day, wearing a Tom Brady Jersey when the fins were 1-15, I would have no problem with it. I might actually open up my padlocked wallet and donate a few bucks to the charity. Actually, I would have no problem with it even if he was at the Fins game watching the Pats play the Fins.
metaphorically, life is just a game I play to win it is my expectation we will win the most exciting thing about the team is exactly the seriousness & intensity in which the NewRegime approaches every practice, every decision, every game Gravitas! go tell Bill Parcells it's just a game
Gravitas is a way of living, approaching life & extends into every aspect of life. The ancient Romans games played out in the Coliseum. We have LandShark Stadium.
I don't agree with the Sparano/Brady comparison. First, Fisher has been the coach there for about 14 years. That's a bit different than being a second year coach. Second, Brady is not liked in Miami on any level. He's respected by many (certainly not all) as a great player, but he isn't liked. Manning was a Tennessee Volunteer so he's very much liked and respected in that area. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with what Fisher did. He poked fun, mostly at himself and he did so in a forum that allows you to admire opponents.
Manning may be liked by Vols fans, but I'm posing the question on how it would make you feel as a Dolphins fan, not a miami native. I'm sure as we can see from most of our posters and huge majority of Fins fans arn't from miami. So even if Sparano was wearing the jersey of a "Miami Native" that doesn't mean anything to most fans that are not from Miami. I do agree that it could make a difference to those in that area, I certainly see your point, but the NFL spans so far in its fandom I don't think that makes a huge difference in the Titans fans feelings about it.
I'm not a Hurricane fan but if Sparano wore the jersey of a favorite cane it would bother me less than if he wore a Brady jersey. And of course it would have to be Sparano after 14 seasons with the Dolphins with a SB appearance coming off of a 13-3 season.
That's exactly the point...he did it at a fundraiser to honor Tony Dungy...it was showing his sense of humor when they are in a bad situation right now. Big deal...live with it...This is one of the best coaches in the league and he did this as a light-hearted attempt at poking fun at himself....I don't see the fuss... I could care less if Sparano or even the Tuna did the same thing, in the same context...man, people are just too sensitive over nothing...(I don't mean you, I mean the people who are "upset" with Fisher now...give it a break...
