says he is surprised by how physical Grove is playing so far this year. http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...andy-cross-jake-groves-play-has-surprised-me/
I saw a play in the preseason against the Panthers where Jake dove and blocked a LB because he couldn't reach him to make a normal block. It just seems like Jake will do whatever it takes to make the block. Also I saw him man up block, no help, Jenkins against the Jets, and it was for an extened period of time. It wasn't a quick cut block or anything. He just manned up and handled Jenkins. Fans were jumping on Grove early, and rightfully so, but he and this Oline are dominating. Props the the players, coaches, and front office for bringing this all together. It's a thing of beauty. Oh and also props the RB's. A great RB can make a line look good and we have 2 great backs.
They said before the season started that Grove plays "with a mean streak". Well.....he has looked pretty damn mean to me. Ruthless, even.
dominating olines win superbowls. we now have one. we need a little bit more on defense (mlb, safety) and maybe another WR or TE.....and we will be dangerous. dangerous I TELL YOU !!!!
No surprise here. Have to remember that Sparano is a center. He knows how the position is played, and what it takes to play it, in minute detail. You have to believe he had something to do with the trade and that he had a bunch of reasons for it.
I thought we traded for Grove. Just another example of how slowly but surely our front office is bringing in young "lesser" free agents to improve this team. Not any stopgap measures but players who can play well here for years. I've said that we are on a three year plan here. In two years (year four) we will have a very very good and still young team here.
there is no surprise with Jake Grove. we knew exactly what we were getting in the trade: the missing piece to the offensive line the Orca-5 will eat defense alive. there will be blood in the water @ LandShark Stadium 24/27-Miami c-you @ 4 to watch it unfold
I have been one of the most vocal in here calling Mr Grove (No more calling him Grover) out. It is very refreshing for me to eat a huge piece of humble pie. That Jest game alone he earned huge respect with me. Agree with Rio, he was the missing piece to that o-line.
he is playing well, however on the other side of that, I think he probably leading the league in false starts by a center 3 (that I know of).. the center is the last guy on the team that should be false starting.. there is no excuse for it
