Drafting a WR first round is NOT a guarantee. Marques Colston was one of the last ones picked, and look at him. Who knows, maybe hartline can break out. We need to get a playmaker in FA. Boldin, Ochocinco, whoever is free, go after one. Lets please build up our D more.

no..bowe can't play safety better than what we have so i dont think it wouldve mattered much...or maybe he can,my grandmother can play better coverage than our safeties and it's not so much bell because we all knew he is more of a run support guy so going out and getting a free safety that sucks in coverage and can't tackle a blow up punch-me bag really hurts us.what really aggrivates me is that we have noone better or gerbil would already be riding pine(i'd hope).

I just saw Fitz drop a sure TD.

Also, for all the guys who think that Bess is so much better than Ginn, he sucked today also. Two drops, although one wasn't overturned because of the replay machine malfunctioning, and the fumble to set up the first Saints TD...but no ones calling him out?

For the record, I think most on here wanted Bowe...

A move to two competent receivers would be a start. Yes, eventually a playmaker is going to be necessary. A couple of guys who just haul the ball in would be a vast improvement, though.

I'm sure he'd be more than willing to provide his own, ahem, entertainment budget on a league minimum contract. The Bucs passed on him.

Bess is usually very consistent as a receiver. He's always catching the ball, and moving the chains. Thats why his awful performance today isnt being mentioned so much. Thats abnormal for him. Ginn's inconsistency, and drops is a regular occurrence. That's why he's being called out.

I believe Boldin is signed for at least another couple years (and at a cheap rate, to boot). I think he'd have to be traded for, but it could work out because I think they'll need to move him to keep Breaston (if they want to keep him).

We need a #1 WR, yes.

But we also need a TE. I maintain my stance that the loss of David Martin really hurt us. Fasano is only a decent TE. And he's a FA after the season.

I would be surprised if we don't address the TE position in a serious way next year, even if we do keep Fasano.

    I agree with this post.

Bess's fumble clearly cost us a lot of momentum, but:

This is the first time in 2 seasons that Bess has truly disappointed.
    Bess was an UDFA
Bess is asked to be a slot #3 WR, not a #1.

Put him on this team over the last two plus years, does he get 16 TD's? I don't think so. We didn't have a Tony Gonzalez for defenses to double and we're a more run oriented offense.

And regardless with how productive a player is for this team, fans will jump on him the moment he makes a mistake (see Ronnie Brown prior to the first Pats game last year).

Change of scenery doesn't cure flaws in a player's game, as we've seen with Gibril Wilson. At this stage of his career, Henne isn't as good a QB or had the same success as Matt Cassel. If Bowe were to flourish anywhere and have his play elevated by his QB (less drops) if would be in KC, but that isn't the case.

Ginn sucks period, he will never be the guy. I'm offically giving up on him, he didnt even catch the garbage time TD.

get rid of Cam too, he's a ****** for chucking the ball out of bounds.

    Brandon Lloyd finds this funny

Miles Austin for that 2nd round tender is looking good about now...

How many would trade the pick we used on Pat White for him?

Houston will do all they can to resign him, but if by some miracle he hits the market ... #1 FA target for us no questions. He can block very well, and hes an all over recieving threat. Great hands, run after the catch potential. To anyone not familiar with him or Houston, think Jason Witten 2.0, just a peg below.

WRs; Jackson would be the ideal ugrade, but I see no way that San Diego lets him go. Rivers will kill them if he is allowed to leave. They will choose to say good bye to Chambers instead.

Miles Austin I dont know yet, Id like to see the rest of the season. Hes had two good games now though. If he keeps it up, hard to see Jones letting him escape though, as bad as Williams has been.

Marshall I think will stay in Denver, especially if they keep winning and he keeps making plays. But if he hits the market, we would be foolish not to make a serious run.

I wish we picked up Coles in the offseason. A veteran who could've helped Hartline, just like Pennington helped Henne. And helped us win games at the same time.

Nah just a classic mistake, not looking the ball into his hands, he was looking for a place to run once he got the ball and forgot to catch it. He coulda just caught it, the sideline was right there and i know he knows it.

I think letting David Martin go has come back to haunt us. He was our pass catching TE. Now we just have a pass dropping/fumbling TE. Wooohooo.

Martin hurt his knee. If not for that injury, he'd still be here.

I think his absence is overlooked as we sorely lack a middle of the field passing attack.
