Posted in the Club but wanted to post it here also. This young man is going to be great and I'm so glad we have him. This is what Class is all about! http://www.palmbeachpost.com/dolphi...25/1025henne.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=46 This is the begining of something really sweet!!
Glad to have him also,I think with more time to develop he will be a great player. I like how he acts like a leader and speaks for the team while taking his share of the responsibility for the loss. That is how a true leader earns respect from the rest of the team.
That last INT was as much a garbage play as a TD would have been at that point. A last ditch, desperation toss ...the game was over well before he gave up those last points. And the first pick 6 was an infomercial on how badly we need a more physical WR Henne played well enough to win today.....once again, with him at QB we score 30+ despite a very mediocre group of WR's and TE's. The Robot is the least of this teams worries right now
agreed^ and you'd be foolish to not expect him to struggle , in essence he is a rookie and will go through growing pains.
Chad Henne spews a tired cliche, and you're happy? Big whoop. Chad Henne will be just fine based on his play, not his post-game interviews.
Thats not the point. The point is he's showing leadership, by not blaming any one individual, and by including himself in the blame when really, he maybe shouldn't have needed to. I agree though, that last pick 6 was worthless really. It meant nothing. Same as a TD would have meant to us there. The first pick 6, well, we all know what happened there already.
I don't blame Henne for either of the INTs. The first was clearly Ginn's fault, and the second (while a backbreaker) was a desperation play on 4th down and the season. At least Henne now learned what Penny clearly already knew....Ginn....can't....catch.
Henne looks very good to me & is in "obvious" need of more talent at the WR position. All the WR's are average at best.
Umm, that drive could have lead to the Dolphins taking the lead. The final drive was the one that was irrelevant. As far as the interception both receivers were moving inside but the throw was outside. Henne explained why that was the case. The WR made the choice (most likely) to cut in instead of out and the QB guessed he would go out. Nothing more to really say about it.
And Brees? Hey, as time progresses he will learn his WR's and vice versa. It doesn't make him a bad QB. Sure, it upsets fans, but he is a star in the making.
I've been highly impressed with Henne in all three starts. The numbers last night mean nothing to me. He clearly has the goods. The game isn't too big for him. He makes throws, stands in there and plays pretty well without the benefit of actually being on the field more than three consecutive plays. What he's being asked to do is unheard of. It's impossible for him to get into any kind of rhythm. And when he does, his OC promptly pulls him out (a la the Jets game). As GRT8 said, we seriously need help at WR and TE. Actually IMO, I think we need only one TE and one WR. We just need them in a big way. And when we get it......look out. EDIT: many in the national media are calling this a 'rookie, bump in the road' game for Henne. I didn't look at it like that at all. This wasn't Mark Sanchez throwing 5 INT's. Or Sanchez throwing 3 INT's at NO. What this offense asks of Henne is completely foreign to any other offense in the NFL. And the two INT's for TD's? I don't think anybody is blaming him for them. I don't think anybody is alarmed over them.
Something has to give with Ginn, he is not catching passes he should catch and he is not running good routes, Henne deserves better. Ginn is no longer a rookie and is no longer afforded rookie mistakes or excuses. I have been a Ginn supporter but he is just not what we drafted him for and makes more mistakes than good plays. I truly believe the coaches think Ginn has the talent but for whatever the reason he can't apply it. Henne is going to be just what we hoped he would be, we just have to supply him the weapons to be that.
That long pass to Hartline was almost a touchdown. Henne deserves more credit. Like everyone else said, it's not Henne's fault that Ted Ginn can't catch a ball if his life depended on it. I have always defended Ginn.....but I'm done. Time to sell his cards on ebay and cut my losses. Goodbye Ted....
I think Ginn's route running is actually ok. He got open many times. The first route he ran he was open but got tripped when his feet and the DB's tangled up. Then he got open each time he dropped 3 passes. He is getting open, the ball is getting there, now we need to put some sticky icky on his gloves.
Chad Henne is the ****ing man. It's really a shame we can't get any receivers besides Cammy and Hartline and maybe Bess who're worth anything in the NFL. 2010 we get the boy some real players and watch out. With this running game? Watch out.
Re-read my post. I didn't take a shot at Henne at all. I even said he'll be fine. The point of my post is there's no reason to get all excited about a throwaway quote. Who cares if Henne took responsibility? He's supposed to do that. I don't give him credit for not being JaMarcus Russell.
Well I'm glad everyone else saw what I saw.... Rookie Bump, hardly... I'd go as far as saying I was impressed with Henne yesterday. Take away the Bess fumble late in the 1st half which gave NO a TD Take away the Ginn gift pick 6 and put us on the 45 yard line and all of the sudden we're up 24-3, 3rd Quarter. Instead....24-17 and Henne had NO fault in that. Henne will throw crucial picks in the future that might potentially lose us games as any and every quarterback does in their careers (even Manning, Brady, and Marino).....but you can be sure, this game wasn't one of them. What I saw was a 3rd successful game by our QB of the future, and say what you will, but I saw another mistake free game from him where he led our offense to another 30+ point performance and put us in position to win the game. And I couldn't agree more with jetssuck. That last drive and last pick 6 was all on our WR and RB's inability to execute simple catching (and Camarillo throwing the ball OOB). It was, as he put it, an infomercial on our dire need for a WR and TE. And Muck's right, once we get one, then watch out!
