Okay I have to try and stop myself from the negative stuff. I'm going to try my best to not bash ginn and wilson here.

We're 2-4 after facing the toughest start in the NFL. The same record we had last year at this time before winning the division. The toughest games are behind us. ATL in the dome? Very tough. Colts and Saints? Super Bowl frontrunners. West Coast SD? always tough there. This team has been this close so many times. We have got to stop making stupid errors though.

We have to beat the Jets again. Going into NE a week after they have a bye will be tough. Plus, anytime you sweep a division rival, it makes the losses from the week earlier sting less. We are also better then the Jets and Bills.

We have a great future if we keep building right, but we've shown we have ability to compete now. Dont forget the 9-win cardinals made the super bowl.

Jason Allen should get the node at Corner, let's see if this guy can play for crying out loud.

Pat Turner needs to see some reps, Ginn should either be benched, relegated to return only duty or moved to spot duty as a slot receiver which might benefit him if he can remember how to catch.

Finally, I will say this. Sharper fumbled the ball out of the endzone he clearly lost control of the ball before crossing the line, terrible call which contributed to our demise.

The team came out completely flat in the 2nd half the defense looked like they either packed it in or they were exhausted. Bottom line we should have been running the ball.

The season is at a major crossroads right now.

I still think we have a good group of young players.

With no more Will Allen, I would assume he sees some time. That hurts

Even if we make the playoffs this year, it is painfully obvious that we are not going to win the Super Bowl.

We have SEVERAL holes to fill before we can contend for the Lombardi. I just hope to God we make some good moves next offseason, and have a stellar draft.

I have hope we can make the Super Bowl. Odds are we wont, but in the playoffs you can start fresh. So many teams the past few years were not supposed to make it. Lets make the playoffs first. If we dont beat the Patriots at least once we'll have to fight for a wildcard, which we can do. Better beat the Texans though.

OH I forgot. We have gotten respect from most people, and this game helped solidify that. Though, that also means we cant sneak any wins like we did last season.

No win in the NFL is a sneak and we lost our vet corner. We can't cover a tight end and we don't have a big guy to go down the field and catch the ball. The trade deadline has passed. We have an O-coordinator that abandons our game plan even though we still have the lead. Our safeties really suck most of the time. ........etc.

I'm with you on being positive. We are better than we were.....
If something stupid should happen like us getting to the big show, I'll sell one of my cars so I can get a $5000 seat to it.

I still see us finishing good in our division. Unfortunately, ESPN is rubbing Mr. Brady's vagina again and rightfully so.

I think its clear that we can go toe to toe with any team in the NFL, winning is another story.

We will beat the Jets, we'll be pissed and Sanchex is no Brees.

We better be pissed! JT will be pissed, he played like he was 27. If we put that pressure on Sanchez that we did on Brees we should be good. hopefully it will be cold! It's been kind of warm here in NY.

And they may be rubbing Brady's vag, but they dominated the two worst teams in the NFL. Wow. Let's see them do that against the Saints.

Another bright side: Considering all the blowouts this week, this game may end up on NFL Replay this week... :shifty:

Okay... Maybe not so bright...

Watch the fun, amazing, crazy first half....then quickly change the channel before it's too late. Right before that timeout.

Losses like this and the Indy game will stick in our minds for the rest of the year especially if this team finishes with a 8 or 9 win season. However I totally agree with the thought behind this thread. At 2-4 this team is believe it or not in a better position than it was last year. At this point last year many of us were throwing in the towel after a terrible Ravens loss and the best team in the division was 5-1 (this year 5-2). Also just like last year this team has a Jekyll and Hyde mentality where one week the team looks great the next it just falls apart and the playcalling makes you want to ram your head through the wall. However even in the midst of darkness there is still light.

    • This year Miami is 2-4 and 2-0 in the division last year Miami was 2-4 and 1-1 in the division.
    • Last year the first place team in the division was 5-1 and the other two teams weren't far behind. This year Miami trails NE by 2 1/2 games with two still to play against them.

Also, as was earlier pointed out, Miami is now hitting the softer part of its schedule:

    • @Jets
    • @Patriots
    • Bucs
    • @Panthers
    • @Bills
    • Patriots
    • @Jaguars
    • @Titans
    • Houston
    • Pittsburgh

Looking at that schedule 9-1 is possible just as it was last year because only 4 games pose real problems (Jets, 2 against NE, Houston, and Pitt). Further break that down and its possible Pitt. may be resting players by week 17 and only 3 games of difficulty remain. Two of which Miami gets out of the way in the next two weeks. So Miami has a favorable schedule down the stretch and that gives hope.

Now let's play another numbers game. NE has after the game against Miami three tough games and two of which are on the road. The week after Miami NE travels to Indy, then back home for the Jets, and then they get the Saints in NO....plus they still have a tricky away game at Houston. Now assume Miami beats them even once this year and its not inconceivable that the four other games I listed (3 on the road) could net them at least two more losses. So that would give NE a loss total of 5 with more possible but 5 is a conservative bet with Indy and NO on that schedule.

However there are more than the Pats in the Fins way there are also the Jets and even, sadly, the Bills. Now lets look at some NYJ games of note. Besides the Miami game they also travel to New England and Indy...plus they still have the Falcons at home. So three tough games there with losses favorable against Indy and ATL and possibly even Miami. So once again barring any other slip ups if the NYJ lose to just Indy and ATL they have 5 losses.

Now for the Bills. They have Miami, the NYJ, NE, and Houston (this week) all at home but they have to travel to ATL and Indy. Now luckily for them they face Indy week 17 so Indy very well could be resting players. For the Bills I could see them winning the Indy game if Indy is resting starters and maybe the Jets game but they have the toughest schedule to go I think of the AFC East teams. So I think they will lose at least 3 more.

Okay so what does all this rambling mean? Well what it means is this...if Miami can at least split the games with NE and the NYJ the next two weeks they could have a great final 8 games with TB, CAR, BUF, JAC, and TEN in that final eight games. A split with NE will suffice I think again this year and Houston and Pitt are the only other games to really worry about in the final eight (and as I said Pitt could be resting players). Overall 9-1 is a very tall order and unlikely I know but it was unlikely last year and I say until loss six is recorded that the season is not over and even then six losses may still win the division. There are no other super teams left on our schedule and I think Miami should be able to beat the Jets just as the Bills did, if playcalling isn't a killer again, plus I think Miami has a 50-50 shot with NE. I actually like this team to be 6-4 through ten but to be conservative I say we lose to NE and are only 5-5. I also think in the Jets next three against Miami, JAC, and NE that they lose two to be at 5-5. I also think the Bills lose to Houston this week to fall to 3-5 but rebound against TEN and JAC to get to 5-5 through 10. I think NE through week 11 beats Miami and the Jets, but loses to Indy to be 7-3. So in other words I think through week 11 Miami will trail NE by two games with 6 games left. Luckily though NE in those final six still has to travel to NO, Miami, and Houston. This is why I say if Miami splits with NE that they can win the division because I think either Houston or NO beats NE and maybe both (I'll even give the Jets a chance too). When its all said and done I think 11-5 wins the division by at least a game. I feel NE could lose six considering the games I listed and so could the NYJ and Miami...I think the Bills lose at least seven.

I know this is a lot of ifs, buts, and what nots but the fact remains that this team is in the same place they were this time last year. Who knows in the NFL maybe Miami can sweep the division instead of my prediction of 5-1 and who knows who I predicted to win in each situation will actually lose (its all a bunch of hypotheticals mostly anyway). No matter who loses to who, however, it appears that with the schedules ahead of the AFC East teams that 11-5 or even 10-6 could win it. I know with the way Miami blew the NO game that none of us really believes that Miami can pull off 9-1 two years in a row or even 8-2. However this team looked just as bad last year after a blown game much like NO against Houston and a pounding by the Ravens. As fans we thought it was over this time last year as well but Miami surprised. That is why I ask "Is it too crazy that we should still believe?". We all know this team is some bone headed playcalling away from a 4-2 record right now (assuming the Indy and NO games were called better and maybe lump SD in there). If Miami, who has played the hardest AFC East schedule so far, was so close to 4-2 through those games who's to say they can't pull off 9-1 still?

So yes we are all going to lick our wounds this next week and obsess over what should have been...but its in the past now so we have to move forward. Luckily, the future for Miami this year still has some hope. Let's just hope that another turn around is in the works and that this loss helps set everything in motion again. To be honest my only concern will be playcalling...if that is fixed I think the team can pull this off again. If not I still say a record of around .500 makes sense and with the hardest schedule in the NFL and a team two years removed from 1-15 that's not to shabby. This team is improving and next year after another FA and a very deep draft posts like these won't be necessary. This team will be strong for years to come...just maybe with a new OC. :wink2:

Also Lucky if you read this...sorry for the rambling/book but I had to get it out. :wink2:

I have said all along that I like Jason Allen and the fact that he plays with tremendous heart. You all saw that open field tackle he made on special teams. That was a great play.

he is a good STer, because he doesn't have to think at that ... it's all athletic ability -- which he has a great deal of ...

we all wish he could do the same in the secondary ... but he's proven that he can't -- and it isn't because he's had too many coaches ....

anything is possible, to include going 9-1 ... but with the incorrectable flaws we currently have (maybe Roth finally gets on the field and improves the LB play) ...

i see us losing 2-3 more games ... which would likely put us out of WC or DIV contention (10-6 and 5-1 in the DIV is possible).

We better beat the fckin Jets. They lost their two best players in Jenkins and Washington. We need JT to bring the heat again like he did on Brees.
