Agree completely about the tag team stuff. Also something that has ALWAYS drove me crazy is when you have a heel championship come out first and the face challenger comes out second. In my opinion the champion should always come out last. I forgot what old PPV it was (maybe WM5) even Jesse Ventura makes a comment about how he's surprised the Macho Man is coming out first because the champion should always come out last.

Well, I can tell you that that is done for the pop of the crowd. Essentially, the face will almost always come out last in that scenario, regardless of championship. The theory is that seeing the heel first will help get the audience ready and pop harder when the face does come out.

But I agree. I think it can be easily remedied to if the announcers would just acknowledge that the heel champ is coming out first because he requested it (to establish himself in the ring while no one is in there, etc.) It is a quick little blurb, but it would go a long way towards improving thequality and consistency of the product.

Oh I realize that why the heel comes out first and all but I still think by having the champion come out 2nd it would make him seem more important and meaningful.

I mean sometimes it makes sense to have the heel come out first, like if his opponent is a mystery like the Warrior against Honky Tonk Man in SummerSlam or if a superstar is returning to fight for the first time in weeks/months or if it's WM and they're planning a huge entrance for the wrestler (although when HBK had his big entrance at WM12, he came out first but it was face vs. face).

I might be late, but this is the first time I read this about shane resigning. It's from another site, and the link that it's quoted from is broken, so it might just be a hoax:

    quote:

    http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/snanemcmahonresigns

It is with great sadness that I announce my resignation from the WWE, effective January 1, 2010.

I have never even considered a future outside the walls of the WWE. However, sometimes life takes an unexpected turn and while it is the most difficult decision I have ever made, it is time for me to move on.

First and foremost, I would like to thank my father for the incredible education working with him has provided and for giving me the opportunity to play a role in building WWE into the global phenomenon that it is today. I am extremely proud to have been the 4th generation in this business, and I am grateful for everyday I was able to work along side not only my own, but the entire WWE family.

Thank you to all of the WWE Superstars both past and present for your passion, pride and dedication. You are truly the engine of the organization and it has been a pleasure to work with, learn from and get to know all of you. Thank you for the privilege of sharing the stage with you and for allowing me to become but a momentary member of your elite brotherhood. I have so much appreciation for the many sacrifices you endure, both physically and personally, to make this business the success that it is. The respect I have for each of you is immeasurable.

Finally, there are no words to express my gratitude to WWE fans the world over for supporting this company through good times and bad and for your unbridled passion that fuels the Superstars’ performances. I am profoundly grateful to have been able to entertain you both in front of the camera and from behind the scenes. You are the greatest fans in the world.

I will always love this business and will remain a fan forever.

    Shane

Yeah I too could not believe that Shane is leaving. By the way what did everyone think last night about Bragging Rights and the Batista heel turn?

  11. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Batista's heel turn was predicted, but needed. They need a strong heel to go up against Undertaker (since Punk had been disposed of and Jericho is preoccupied). We'll see how it works out, but I think it is a good thing to spruce up his stale character.

As for Shane leaving. Speculation is that he will help his mom try for the Senate, but I suspect he may be looking to venture into another type of business away from wrestling, to make his own name for himself. Remember, between hisown money and his wife's, he has got the capitol to start up just about anything. I know he is a big fan of MMA. Perhaps he buys up one of these smaller companies and tries to position it against UFC?

    Who knows.

I read the results very quick last night and didn't even know Batista turned heel but my thoughts are eh. Batista doesn't do anything for me, heel or face. We've seen Undertaker vs. Batista a million times before and those matches were stinkers, I can't see how they will be any different this time. I still don't understand why Punk isn't the champion right now as he's one of the best heels the WWE has going right now and he could could be putting up 4 star matches with John Morrison in his sleep. But on the plus side Batista and UT get hurt almost monthly so maybe by December they'll both be out.

It will be interesting to see who Cena's first opponent will be. It would be cool if Punk switched shows with Orton and Legacy.

Regarding Shane leaving, I don't think it's a big deal. He was never going to get the company once Vince retired or died. It was always going to be given to Stephanie (and Triple H). I will miss him as a performer though as he put on some good matches in his career. He was the smartest McMahon as he knew enough not to say on as part of the show for too long.

Shane's wife worked for the WWF/E for awhile. I believe she started out as one of the hosts for LiveWire or whatever that show on USA at 10am on Saturdays was called in the late 90s, then moved onto the production side of things, mainly for the WWE Films. Her name was Marissa Mazzola. Not sure if she herself had any money family wise before becoming a McMahon, but I'm sure she was well taken care of in the company in regards to salary, bonuses, stock options etc.

Completely agree, I really don't see much in Batista and don't really care to see him vs the Undertaker for the title. I too think they should continue to promote Punk he really connects as a heel and they should have kept the title on him longer. I think they should continue to push the younger guys like Punk and Morrison even the Hart Dynasty.

Yeah the WWE should start to go younger again, Punk was really starting to get hot with his straight edge heel gimmick and they kill it off for the Undertaker, makes zero sense business wise. It's not like Undertaker needs the title to get heat or get over. And Batista is just a roided up watered down injury prone verison of Brock Lesnar minus the talent or skills.

Yeah they should start building up the younger guys because the main guys now are going to retire soon and they need to plan for the future. In regards to Raw tonight probably Cena or DX will start the show haha. Do you think they will continue to further the Legacy split and more Orton vs DiBiase?

I doubt they split Legacy up now, especially since I believe DiBiase helped Orton last night. Survivor Series main event will probably be DX and Cena vs. Legacy. Maybe Jericho and Big Show will be involved too. So they will start to build it up to Survivor Series.

I said it last week the WWE should have turned DiBiase and I think they missed a huge opportunity. I'm not sure they can have DiBiase do the turn now or it will look sloppy. My guess is they will do a slow build in time for a WM match.

And can the WWE bring in some guys to host that actually know a thing or too about wrestling? Kofi Johnson? Haha, these two NASCAR guys are terrible. Just bring in some old WWE legends or just name a GM already because the host thing is starting to get a little old now.

Haha yeah I was thinking who is Kofi Johnson haha. This already looks like another ZZ Top type show but I hope not. Yeah in my opinion I don't want them to split Legacy up just yet give it some time. If I remember back in the Evolution days they turned Orton face too soon and it didn't go over too good with the crowd. Yeah at Survivor Series I could see it being a 5 vs 5 Survivor Series match with Legacy and JeriShow vs. DX,Cena,Kofi, and someone else. I don't know though if Big Show gets his title shot at Survivor Series.

I could be wrong, but I thought that Shane's wife came from money as well. I thought the Mazzola name of hers was attached to another large company outside of the WWE.

If not, she still has her own production company and has plenty of money to help with whatver Shane would want to do.

Yeah turning Orton face was just dumb on the WWE's part. He's a natural heel, plus people just didn't buy him at the time as a major threat to Triple H. The WWE really rushed Orton to be champ.

Personally I'm bored of Legacy only because I think Orton's character is boring and he has zero personality. I was pretty harsh with Cody Rhodes earlier this year but he's light-years better than what he used to be back in March and I'm enjoying his work more now. I always thought DiBiase was going to be a star so seeing him improve is no surprise to me. I think Legacy should be moved to Smackdown and Punk should be moved to RAW to freshen things up. Plus Legacy could get into a nice feud with the Harts.

Yeah things are getting stale with Legacy, but yeah DiBiase and Rhodes have both come a long way and they just need to separate both from Orton now. I agree with them vs. the Harts, after Smackdown Friday I was thinking,I wouldn't mind seeing the Harts turn face but they only have Cryme Tyme as the only other team excluding JeriShow there. I hope they move them in next years draft or maybe a trade somehow.

Interesting having the Survivor Series main event be Cena vs. Triple H vs. HBK. It looked like the logic would be having DX start up a feud with JeriShow (which I guess can still happen). I wouldn't be surprised to see the main event end up being a Fatal Four Way with Jericho getting the last spot.

I'm sure the other matches we'll see would be Kofi will take on Orton, maybe MVP/Henry (MVP is being wasted in a meaningless tag team with Henry) will face Legacy or maybe that's your Survivor Series match with Kofi, MVP, Henry and someone else vs. Legacy and someone else. The Miz will face Jack Swagger for the US Title. You'll probably get besides Undertaker vs. Big Show for the title, Batista vs. Rey Mysterio which leaves Punk with nothing to do.

I'm glad they finally came up with a new angle for Orton. I just hope they don't keep this one going as long as Orton/Cena or Orton/HHH

    The lumberjack match was awesome.

Yeah at least Kofi vs. Orton is something fresh. Orton probably needs to switch shows because we've seen all of the Orton/Triple H/Cena/HBK combinations for the past 2 years now. Everything is so stale at the RAW main event level, especially since they don't have a top heel to challenge Cena for the title. Hence why I keep trying to pimp a Orton/Legacy for CM Punk trade.

  29. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

I think Kofi is about to LEAP through the glass ceiling...which if you remember my post from a couple of weeks ago, was exactly what I was talking about when I said some younger stars were about to be pushed. Kofi is an amazing talent and WILL get the rub from Orton, even if he loses the fued. Plus Swagger is really coming into his own. I think we are getting very close to seeing the next wave of breakout stars, on both main shows (Kofi, Morrison, Punk, Swagger, Miz).

I kind of thought that the breakup of Legacy was going to start on Raw (with Dibiase possibly leaving, or getting ready too). Although, if they stay together, I don't mind having a solid tag team that they can instantly plug into a fued with Jerishow if need be.

Looks like Sheamus is on Raw now? News to me. But good to see as well. He has a ton of talent as well and if given a chance to shine, could be a great upper mid-carder soon. It looks as if Bourne is about to be relegated to JTTS status, which is too bad, but there are only so many spots that you can keep guys in. Maybe a switch to Smackdown or back to ECW would be best for him?

I am somewhat intrigued by the triple threat main event. It is just different enough to make sense, and it would be great if this turns out to break up DX (for once and for all) and leads to a fued where Michaels is main eventing for awhile.

As for Jericho, I am going to assume that since he is toting around that trophy, that he will be captaining a SD team at survivor series, potentially against a RAW team? If he keeps carrying that thign around, it would make sense to see a team of RAW superstars tried to get it from him in a traditional match. I wouldn't mind seeing, Jericho/Punk/Hardy/Ziggler/Morrison vs. a Raw team of say MVP/Henry/Dibiase/Rhodes/?

Not a whole lot of name power on the Raw side, but Punk and Jericho could make that happen with somenice singles matches, etc. I don't know.

I am just glad to see some things reset and see some new, fresh matchups for a change.

I too am glad too see new matches, the same combinations in the main event scene were getting old. I am glad to see they have the top heel in Orton face a up and comer in Kofi. I just hope they don't bury Kofi in the feud and make him look bad like in the Miz vs Cena feud. I also think they should have left Bourne on ECW a little while longer they seem to job him out all the time on Raw. Overall Raw was alright last night and great to see they are trying some new things. The only thing in my opinion that was stale on Raw last night was the same old Chavo vs Hornswoggle stuff but other than that ok.

Agreed time to move Chavo to ECW to be the jobber to the newcomers and move Hornswoggle to ECW or Smackdown. You can't waste TV time on your biggest show to a Chavo and Hornswoggle and they've been doing it for 2 solid months now and the pay off won't help either guy or the company in the long or short run.

Yeah agree, send them both to ECW or maybe Hornswoggle to Smackdown to play second to Finlay again better than on his own. Besides all the stuff between the two the past few months have just been a waste of time,it is like they are trying so hard to get people to laugh. I mean some comedy is ok if done right is funny like Santino makes me laugh every so often but sometimes it could be a waste. Speaking of ECW I would like them to finally to promote Christian to Raw or Smackdown,I know it would hurt ECW but Christian deserves it the guy has a lot of talent at both heel and face and could really help improve the main event scene on both shows especially Raw.

Yeah it is almost as if they put him there and forgot they have Christian on the roster. In my opinion ECW should be used mostly for the new guys and have some veterans on the show to help them out. They should not have a guy with the talent of Christian in his prime on there when he could be helping one of the bigger brands.

Yeah I would treat the shows like the minor leagues in baseball. ECW is your Single A/Double AA with a bunch of rookies and washed up veterans to teach them how to work (like Tommy Dreamer/Val Venis types), Smackdown should be Triple A where you have your top prospects who aren't ready to break out mixed with some veterans who aren't the top stars of the company anymore but still draw heat (like Undertaker, Kane, Big Show), and RAW should be the major leagues with no dead weight (like Chavo and Hornswoggle).

Yup agree,in fact put Chavo and Hornswoggle on different shows even so they don't interact, and a few weeks ago where were they going when they had both save each other from Masters? It seemed like they were going to have them forget their feud but then it just starts up again,it makes no sense. Also what do you think of the Divas trade about two weeks ago? I think Smackdown got the better end of the deal getting Mickie and Beth but I really did not like them moving Eve to Raw as I was starting to like her teamed with Cryme Tyme.

Well Bischoff is going to help run things too. He does have a creative mind and if he's motivated he might be able to work some magic but in no way is the WWE worried about that tag team combo.
