Lol did anyone notice how horrible our coaching was at times today...... I'm talking about play calling, time outs, you name it..... a couple things that pissed me off -we ran it like 3 straight times and just gave them the ball back with like 4-5 minutes left I think, don't remember exactly how much time but why didn't we show trust in Jacory and call up a play like in the OU game?... -Time outs......wtf was going on, I even remember our coaches arguing about calling a time out......also they said whipple called that time out before half time that ended up screwing up our drive....I thought only head coaches and players could call those time outs?.... -penalties....man c'mon, we average at least 10 of these a game LOLOL...we had like 11-12 penalties on stupid ****.....offsides, holding, I even remember on that last drive before half time after coopers big run and the stupid time out, we came out AFTER A TIME OUT with 12 men on the field...... -after the big run in OT, what were we doing? 2 straight runs? why didn't we take a couple shots instead of trying to run it in.... -40 something seconds left, they had no time outs before half and we kick it to one of the most dangerous players in CFB.... -4 man rushes on 2nd and 3rd.....they KNEW we weren't getting pressure and they continuously only rushed 4 and when we did blitz we got some good pressure and forced turnovers.....why not more pressure? **** looked mad vanilla we looked slow out there, unprepared physically and mentally.....and our gameplan on defense was bad.......I know our players made mistakes but even with all that we kept it close and still couldn't win some positives because I like to think about what we got out of this.. we know are team is not ready for a top spot but we showed flashes of a good young team and a coaching staff that just needs to bring it together and play consistently....we need to stop making little errors.....even the teams back in the day would get called for all kinds of penalties and stupid stuff but were always ready to dominate no matter what......I think if we can finish this season off strong we will be prepared for a good year next year anyways.....Jacory looked bad at times but he made some really nice throws and adjusted to good at times, you can tell he is young and will most likely not make those bad throws in the future... our run game is looking better and other than a couple bad plays they looked solid and got some big plays that kept us in this... we made some great catches and some of our receivers looked pretty good...we need our guys to continue to step up and make these each week Bailey is a beast lol
I looked at the huddle, didn't see Epps, and immediately knew we were doomed on that third and three on the final Hurricanes drive in regulation. That little roll out has been our bread and butter all season on third and short. They trusted Jacory with the Oklahoma game on the line, but not against Clemson? I'll never understand that decision. The only justification for it is that we were running the ball pretty well, but then why wasn't the rock given to Berry? I'm telling you. Patrick Nix somehow found himself a headset today. Also, not a very good sight when your head coach and offensive coordinator are jawing at one another all game. Not only that, but Whipple walks off at halftime dropping crazy F bombs looking in Randy's direction.
Alll true, but it still took CJ Spiller blowing up for Clemson to win the game, Spiller had what...250 total yards?
Yeah, I saw that, it concerned me a little bit. They were obviously not on the same page at halftime, I hope they smoothed things out.
Tough one to swallow. In reality, we are still a very young football team thats extremely banged up on the defensive side of the ball. Hard to go from no bowl and obscurity to BCS in one year. Baby steps...
Tough loss. The UConn loss was harder though. Don't understand why my previous posts were deleted though. Anyone care to explain that to me? Thanks.
I'm not sure what your previous posts were about, but if they weren't about the Canes they might have gotten moved. I'm sure the UConn loss was tough for you, but for us Canes fans, that loss yesterday was the worst. BTW, they showed Miami's qb Jacory Harris up close, and he had Jasper Howard's name on the tape (eye tape?) under his eyes.
this type of weekend makes me wonder why I invest so much of myself in these two teams. This was a Tragic loss. If the worst thing that can happen to you in real life is getting struck by lightning and dropping dead../.........then THIS was the football equivalent. I want to crawl into a hole.
I feel that way about the Fins. Ugh! Sorry about the loss Canes. Its always hard to have losses like that when u should win
... that's how I feel about all the losses. Per Don Bailey, Jr, its going to take 6 - 10 more years until they're good enough to be @ USC's level. I'm inclined to agree with him, given that Shannon isn't going to give a competitive edge to Miami over anyone.
Yeah, and Jacory's only a sophomore, so he's got plenty of time to improve. It was disappointing though, we just weren't as prepared as I thought, and a few too many injuries on defense. I had my hopes set on a major bowl game that followed a possible ACC Championship game if things played out right. Not much to do now but get ready for Wake Forest this week.
I think Jacory may jump after next year so u guys will hopefully have things in place by than. Recruiting is the best way to get better and there aren't many places if any better than Florida
"More than ever, the University of Miami football team is in a must-win mode. After their overtime loss to Clemson on Saturday, the Hurricanes (5-2, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) need to win their final four ACC games -- all in the next four weeks -- to remain in contention for the Coastal Division crown. As it is, their slim chances hinge not only on themselves but also on Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech each losing at least one more conference game. But Sunday, UM coach Randy Shannon said the immediate task was to get his depressed players motivated and looking only to Saturday's game at Wake Forest. ``This one hurt,'' Shannon said. ``The players will be feeling down [Sunday]. They'll be in the tank. It'll be my job and the staff's job to get them up, get them going and understand how ugly we played -- and that we still had a chance. ``We want more out of everybody, myself included. All you can do is review the tape, make the corrections, then go lift weights and start on Wake Forest. It's not a deal where we're going to sit back and sulk for another day.'' Wake Forest (4-4 and 2-2 ACC), which lost 13-10 at Navy on Saturday, has its own problems. But for now, UM, which fell to No. 18 in both major polls and from No. 10 to No. 19 in the Bowl Championship Series standings, must contend with the possible absence of weak-side linebacker Sean Spence." rest of article at link below. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/colleges/um/story/1299908.html
And we continue to get help..... VA TECH GOES DOWN. we win out...we play int he ACC championship game. There is no reason we shouldn;t win out. NONE.
What about GA Tech? We beat them, but that's the only conference game they've lost(5-1), with two left. We gotta hope Duke or Wake Forest beats them.
oops. okay...were toast...forgot about them. carry on. I gotta root for Duke and wake forest?...excuse me while a I find a bridge.
About the Christian Jones comment. Can't say how anyone would even think about Miami being his leader when he has yet to make an official visit. He has made official visits with USC and Notre Dame (planned anyway). Also bee to FSU and Florida numerous times on unofficial visits. He made one unofficial to Miami during Oklahoma game tho (However I think he may even be more interested in Oklahoma.). Hard for me to see Christian Jones at Miami at all given he has not talked about them the whole process much. His brother and father both went to FSU. http://www.chicagotribune.com/topic...tian-jones-at-notre-dame-1024,0,7578216.story
I am not saying you guys have zero chance but no way Miami is the leader right now. Canes don't need to worry anyway. This is one guy who is a stud, But to keep things in perspective one guy. He means more to FSU than to Florida or Miami. Florida and Miami will again have great claases while FSU's will be good it won't be up to standard.
Let's see if things change in the 3rd quarter for Miami. Although I'm sure Brian will still sound like his dad.
I wasn't too happy with that win. Thanks to Wake Forest for the mistakes towards the end of the game, otherwise my hand would be on ice from punching the wall. They turned the ball over 4 times, FOUR, and we couldn't get a score. I'm just glad we made it work at the end of the game. Still humbly proud to be a Hurricane.....
Holy **** they won? I turned the game off in the 2nd quarter. Talk about wanting to punch your tv. HUH? How? What? *scratches head*
Hard to play good defense missing 4 starters and 2 other of our better players. How would the Fins defense look missing Ferguson, Porter, Bell, and Langford?
