Teddy? Why were you at the Hard Rock at 2am? Your family is going to be very disappointed in you. I think someone needs a curfew imposed on him again.
Who knows. Granted, I wasn't there. And unfortunately I only got it in passing from my client (believe me, I wanted to discuss it). They might not have even been consuming alcohol for all I know. But that's what the man said.
Just to clarify. 2am Sunday morning meaning the day before the game was to be played? Either way....un****ingbelievable. I'm not even going to start.
Yup. Saturday night/Sunday morning. I want to say that Ted Ginn has said he doesn't drink at all. And maybe he wasn't. If I get a chance to talk to the guy again, I will. I just can't see going out the night before a game. Ever. But that's just me.
You'd think that, as a pro, you'd want to be well rested and ready to roll. I could barely wait tables with a hangover, I can't imagine playing football.
Mandich on Sid's show is archived here: http://www.wqam.com/index.php?page=347&sid=6f0cukn1nlmlrusor7jq1d4a0lpl772r The last time Ginn had a crappy game against the Bills he bounced back against the Jets...
Not that it has anything to do with well.....anything, but I can't help being curious. What the hell are Porter and Ginn doing hangin out together? Porter the thug that beats up guys with his posse in Vegas.....hangin with Ginn the sackless wonder? Were they celebrating getting the lead roles in a remake of the Odd Couple?
yea this was a great interview, although sid didn't have a great argument with blaming the coaching staff completely...maddog didn't agree and was a little flustered
Could have certainly been more Dolphins there. He just said Ginn and Porter. I remember about a decade ago seeing a certain group of Dolphins at a certain adult establishment a mere hours before they were to board a plane for Oakland.
Nope, not Dan. One off them was a notorious frequenter of adult establishments. There are some hilarious stories about that dude.
Should I create a game of hangmen? Or are you sworn to secrecy or something? Who're you talking about?
THANK YOU. I have a thread about the Saints out-coaching us at halftime. A lot of posters just don;t agree that the Saints staff made better halftime adjustments than we did and that it DEFINITELY impacted the game majorly. Enough to affect the outcome and warrant highlighting in interviews the next day apparently.
I agree that we come into games with great gameplans, and that our staff's ability to combat our opponent's halftime adjustments is hampered by our roster talent. The Saints came out with answers to our gameplan to start the second half... and we did not have the receivers/tight ends to adjust to their adjustments. That said, this staff SHOULD know that and should not rely on a clutch pass to Ginn to sustain a comeback drive at this point. Put the ball in Ricky and Ronnie's hands, even if it's through passing to them out of the backfield.
Or split Ronnie out wide, we know he can run routes. In the second half our pressure on Brees just disappeared, i am not impressed with Porter either. Seems all he does is bullrush now, and is a pretty easy block. He made it to the QB once? Everytime i see him rush the passer its like he is giving a half *** effort. If the man is injured get off the field and let Wake get some time.
Ricky dropped a pass on that last drive too. I really wish we would utilize Ronnie out wide though. When we have Ricky and our receiving corps seem to be in disarray right now, why not have Ronnie out wide on some plays. We should be able to implement him out there.
Every time we watch a Tight End like Gonzalez, Shockey, Dallas Clark, etc abuse our Safeties... let it be a reminder that if we had a GREAT ILB, then we could be covering that TE with a great linebacker who was a beeter size match for a TE. We cover TE's with our Safeties because our ILBs are too damned slow and crappy in coverage to keep up. Wilson and Bell then get the heat for not being able to cover those guys. Expect an ILB this offseason.
If he wasn't dropping passes left and right, his route running wouldn't even be mentioned now. Even with marginal routes he still gets open a lot more than he gets thrown to. So if the QBs had more faith in him to catch it, and he did, he could be racking up big numbers.
I agree. Just saying IF IF IF he displayed decent hands, his routes would not even be in question, because he still gets open way often enough to post big catch totals IF he could hang on to the ball and the QBs therefore continued to feed him.
A lot of receiving is concentration. Ginn needs to concentrate one hundred percent on catching the ball, and zero percent on being about to get hit. Forget about YAC for now. Just catch the damn ball and decide what you're going to do with yourself after you put it away. This is Pop Warner stuff.
All we can do is higher a new WR coach, draft some young receivers, and trade for a good one. When I see guys we missed like Ramses Barden it becomes scary. That guy is a specimen and he can be developed. We had shots at guys like Manningham and we let them go. I watched the entire 2008 combine and I said damn we should go for DeSean Jackson. Merling was sliding because of injury and I doubt anyone else was so high on Langford to snatch him up. Langford may have dropped down to the fourth round and we really didn't need a Shawn Murphy. What I'm saying is I just need somewhere to vent and we need to evaluate our drafting. Instead of just going after what we need straight away. Maybe get like those damn Patriots. Go for value. If we can get great WR's then fill the defense in lower rounds it would be great.
