I read an article about the popularity of certain genres (like Zombies, Vamps, etc...) and the author suggested the reason vampires are popular is because women get the fantasy of banging gay men (ie. Vampires). It was a pretty funny article.

And I def. agree with you for the most part, but I gotta say True Blood is the exception. It's one of the best shows on right now.

Well we fantasize about banging gay women, but we have porn, so you make sense there amigo! I haven't seen True Blood, TBH after the glut of vampire crap that has been around for a while now it drew 0 interest from me. Sounds like I need to play catch up.

.... Go watch Trueblood. It's ****ing awesome. It took a few eps into season 1 to get things flowing, but after that, it's amazing (season two is even better). It's not hardcore "30 days of night" vampirism. It's kinda like the X-men in that they represent an allegory of oppression. But there are a few hardcore moments. Plus there's a good amount of comedy to lighten up the drama.

Oh, and an *** load of hot naked girls in season 1. Anna Paquin gets naked at the end of the first season and a bunch in season 2. So that's bonus points...

Do yourself a favor and put season 1 and 2 on your Christmas list. You'll thank Santa later.

For me it was alot of hype built up around another version of Blair Witch. It had its moments but overall not one of the best movies I've seen. But if you like BWP, you will enjoy this one.

why do so many people hate on bwp, it was pretty inventive for its time. Even if it was modeled after the last broadcast, but last broadcast is a better film.

and honestly....the comparison to bwp is ridiculous. i love how people hear on the interweb "oh its a hand held camera its just like bwp" and everyone else uses that to compare it....when the MOVIE itself is not like it at all......but whatever i guess

First I never said BWP was bad...it was different and creative. But the similarities are there. Both are supposed to be "self-filmed" documentaries that live off of shock value and scare tactics. And through most of both movies you really never see anything...just hear it.

I'm guessing 'Twilight' would fall under this category. I never saw it, but it looks like a Vampire chick flick, and the fact that the novel and film were so popular with teenage girls put any doubts I had to rest. Screenwriters & romance authors can stop ruining scary subjects by turning them into teen love fests anytime they're ready.

Right now I feel like Max Payne at the end of the movie, where he is screaming and going insane. The demons are floating above me....but they aren't trying to mess with me. Everyone else is, though.

Same here. But the ending was perfect IMO, he did get his revenge (mostly) and he did get reunited with his family. Classic Disney ending.

    Zombieland-Good movie.

One thing I hate with the Zombie genre is when people in the movie are like wtf is that? What is a ZOMBIE!?!? HOW DO WE KILL IT!??!!

I feel thats one thing humanity can capitalize on is a zombie apocalypse.

I watched that movie White Noise recently. I think it's interesting how evil spirits can move through electronic devices such as TV's, etc. Hopefully you don't have any come through the computer.

Went to go see [IMG]today. It was kinda cool, interesting idea. They tried to cram a bit too much of a plot into 1hr & 45 min I think. Plenty of action, but a slow ending. Best part was
all the boobs and butts and girls making out in the cyber world. And the regular closeups of his wife's (Amber Valetta) *** didn't suck either.
Enough to offend a couple in their 50's-60's to get up and leave after 20 min.

Went to see Gee Eye Jo today for a buck. Tons of action, which obviously they were banking on being the selling point when they made this movie.
I liked how convenient it was that all of the major characters from each side knew each other previously to joining up, explained in separate flashbacks throughout the movie. I mean, what are the chances of that happening?:rolleyes:Then I remembered, it's just a movie.

For a dollar and an excuse to be entertained and out of the house for the afternoon, I got my money's worth.

went and saw zombieland over the weekend and was impressed.it got a little slow there so i didn't give it a 10 but it was the better of the last few movies ive seen at the theatre lately.also watched transformers 2 at home and while i didnt think it was superb it was better than alot of the reviews i have gotten from it.
