Why would anyone want to rewatch this? Other than to take shots at Ginn. Dolphin Fan Base -> < -Ted Ginn Jr Oh your from FH
How am I defending? The horse has been beaten enough. Honestly this needs to be merged with the Ted Ginn stinks thread. Even before this game I have stated Ginn doesn't have the tools to be a number 1 Receiver. I can't defend his play because he is doing nothing to disprove with what people say about him. Has nothing to do with me being a Buckeye fan. I guess I should join in and trash a Dolphin player?
Aw, come on, Buckeye, he's a new poster and we have all criticized Dolphins players. Especially after losses. And this thread is a video of Ted, while other threads did not show the actual plays, so it has some merit as it's own thread despite the similar sentiment. I agree that the Ginn bashing has been vociferous, but it's because of how Ginn played. I just want new posters here to feel welcome, is all.
No doubt we criticize Dolphin players but to me this isnt what a fan does. I don't agree with you about this deserve its own thread because its basically showing what people are discussing in the other Ginn threads. Yes but to me its taken to a whole new level. I expect this from other fans coming in and taking shots but I think everyone knows Ginn isn't going to live up to his draft status so why are we shocked that he is so inconsistent?
so lets all be quiet and sit on our hands......i mean....duh guys....we shouldnt be able to discuss anything enless it all positive good things about the dolphins on a message board for fans.....keep it positive or else!!!!!!!
lol @ 1:55 mark......look at joey porters reaction........god damn edit: should watch the whole video lol
This video just pissed me off all over again... all perfectly thrown balls... ginn gets his hands on them all... and... well we know the outcome. awful.
Thanks for the video. I'd forgotten about the last pass in the endzone. Specifically, I'd forgotten that it hit him in the hands.
I honestly didn't even remember that play at all. I was so pissed, I think I blanked out for the last 30 seconds of the game. Looks like I need to find a pic of that to add to my collage.
This is a good post. I saw the game but was really unable to see how well thrown the balls were and how it was all Ginn that they were not completed. With the video, I was able to go frame by frame and conclude that all three of those balls should have been caught; no excuse. Whether either of them (other than the dropped touchdown -- I don't recall if we scored after that) being caught would have altered the final score is speculation, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. End result: Ginn had a big part in this loss.
On the last play in the Endzone, the Cb looked like he knocked the ball out. Henne put the middle pass right where it needed to be, in the breadbasket with no one behind him, Ginn turns with that ball he runs for a long time. Ginn high pointed the ball on the pick six, then screwed the pooch trying to bring it in for the reception. Eh, all in all, I've seen worse to be honest about it.
Thanks for the thread...I would not have noticed this in the other thread Just like Muck I forgot about the last drop
Don't forget about his half-assed effort at a well thrown ball in the middle of the field. It was there and a play could've been made on it. He didn't leave his feet or extend his arms.
Damn I did not realize till seeing it again in the vids how nice those passes were and the bobbled one under pressure. It hurts seeing Ginn drop those but it is nice to see we have a hell of a QB back there.
This. I remember what Larry Fitzgerald said while watching that play. "catch the ball at the highest point" Ted Ginn didnt do that.
What upsets me, is the how Charles Davids (I think that's the announcer) talking about how Tracy Porter had a good day. He had a good day because Ginn dropped those balls, not because of Porter's play. Give credit where it's due Charles.
No on on the defense should make ANY type of reaction. Although i despise Ginn, the defense has been our achilles heel all year. When i saw Joey Porter in the background, i was amazed, i couldnt believe the reaction coming from a defense that gave up 43 points spanning 2 quarters and 10 seconds.
I fully expect Parcells to draft or trade for a Wide Receiver this off-season. Henne's development will be helped TREMENDOUSLY with legit WR and TE threats.
Sorry, but i have to defend the defense and Joey Porter a little. If our offense runs the ball and gets some first downs, even if we don't get in the endzone, we run valuable time off the clock. No way do they put up those 43 points. This pisses me off just as much as all the dropped balls. We got away from who we are, the #1 rushing offense in the NFL.
I don't see why not. The D is part of the team. They work just as hard for wins. The whole team should be able to re act any way they choose. Other than actual fighting. It's a team effort IMO and they all have the right to let their emotions out.
didnt the offense throw 2 int's for touchdowns? how is that the defense fault. we lost by 12. those 2 pick-6's dont happen....and we win the game.
Whose confidence will be shot if he starts losing because of dropped balls and comeback drives that stall. Drop Ginn to 4th on the depth chart before he ruins Henne's confidence. Sheesh. Ginn is currently a situational player, a la Devin Hester... no more. And I WISH he was even as good as Hester on returns!
You know, at a certain point we just have to accept what happened though and look ahead to what we can do right from here on out. So Ted has flaws and had a very bad game. What do we do next to start winning again? Clearly we need some wrinkles and shake-ups to our passing attack so teams can't commit to defending us as solely a running team.
I'm officially done being upset with Ginn, the damage is done. The only people to be upset with going forward is the coaching staff. If they cannot resolve this issue with Ginn (whether its a coaching issue, or dropping him down in the depth chart), it no longer falls on Ginn. He has consistantly shown us what he can and cannot do. If the Coaches fail to recognize that now, it's on them, not him.
I've seen this guy over at the other site and he has literally probably started at least 10 negative Ginn threads since the start of the season. Even after last week's game he started a thread called "What if Ginn dropped the pass from Henne?"
Regardless......that video he posted was very much relevant. And appreciated by many. It gives you a good look at exactly what happened. As far as negative Ginn threads? If there's too many at once then just merge them. As long as a post or thread supplies content (as this one did) and it's not just to bash someone out of post game anger, then I don't see the problem. Go to any SoFl newspaper site and you'll find just as much negative Ginn material as you'll find here.....
One highlight in this video is how fast Ginn got back to Sharper to force the ball out of his hands. Now thats hustle! Go Ted Ginn! HAHA!
We should of won this game. I was a defender of Ginn but no more. He had a catchable touchdown at the end of the Colts game too.
I'm sorry I meant for the whole season. Everyone seems to forget our defense gave up 19 points against the falcons, 27 against the colts, 23 vs the chargers, 10 against the bills, 27 against the jets, and now 46 against the saints. Minus the 2 pick-sixes, 32 points. I agree we should have ran it until next week bro, but the fact is we had the lead and it was our defense who let their offense score. My bad brother if I sound like im being impolite. I just have this passion for the dolphins and im tired every year for the past 20+ years of the same thing, "next year will be huge" and then next year comes, "its a rebuilding year, next year will be huge" over and over again.
Our D lacks a few things.... like a great ILB who can cover TEs (so our safeties don't have to) and blitz (so we can get inside pressure occasionally). Like a Safety with ball skills so we can pick off a few more passes in the middle of the field and make a QB think twice before throwing to the deep middle or seams. Like an OLB for the Strongside. Right now JT is better on the weakside, but okay on the Strongside. Roth can stop the run but not rush the passer or drop into coverage. Wake can rush the passer but not drop into coverage or play the screen/misdirection. That leaves 33 year old JT as the most well-rounded SOLB. JT can;t possibly take all the snaps there all season long and hold up at his age. We need another player there to start working in.
