Looks like the Finheaven of Saints message boards.

Some very ignorant fans over there. When you don't even understand the rules i.e, why a ball fumbled out of the end zone is a touchback, you're not worth the time.

The only problem with that is you couldn't run the ball. 139 yards on 34 carries. 68 of them on one run which should have been called back for holding. Take out that Ricky run and you rushed for 71 yards on 33 attempts....or 2.1 yards per attempt.

The Colston play looked like a touchdown from the start. I don't fault the officials one bit for making that initial call. That timeout by your coach didn't help matters at all, though.

This is going nowhere fast, or it's already gotten there...either way. We won you lost, I don't believe 9/11 or JFK was an inside job just like I don't believe the refs are in a conspiracy against whatever said team.

We won you lost and no arguing over stupid calls is going to change that. I mean I'll be honest I love arguing with you guys because for one of the very few times in our teams pathetic existence, we actually have a really good team and realistically may end up in a SuperBowl for once. I am not going to count my chickens yet but hey I can't help but be a little excited.

So quit your cryin and take your lumps like men, everyone gets shafted by the refs here and there but what can you do...and I completely agree that the refs f'ed this call up.

Someone should send this pic to PTI for debate. ESPN would never show it though because they want to continue their contract with the NFL. $$$$$$

there is no conspiracy. but the refs blew that call.....they blew it enough for sports illustrated to publish it in their magazine. get over saint fans....you were gift wrapped a TD that threw momentum gigantically into your favor to start the 2nd half.....and pretty much added about 34 million+ more people to the list to want to murder ted ginn........

you guys wont win the superbowl. i guarentee it.

Silly logic. Calls get blown all the time in the NFL, and when evidence is shown of it, most sports networks are all over it.

I don't understand why blown calls that favored the dolphins get swept under the rug, or weighed as a result of the "magnitude" of the calls. If Vontae Davis had taken back one of Brees's interceptions, and Devery Henderson caught him from behind in the same situation.....are you automatically assuming that the call would have been made correctly, and it would have been a touchback??

Put it this way, Devery is faster than Reggie Bush. So yeah, it's possible.

On a side note though...Vontae played his *** off the other day. He made Colston earn everything.

thanks, we got good rookie corners that will only get better. i think one of your saint buddies said it best.....we are close. we are like the saints a few seasons ago. we will be at your level soon.....rebuilding has its bumps....we played you tough, and should have beat two of the best teams in the league (colts/saints)

good luck the rest of the way.

I don't believe this. That's great photography. I thought it was clearly a fumble and the refs just had no conclusive evidence to overturn the call of a touchdown...clearly they were wrong. Ugh.

Doesn't change the result though. We have the Jets again Sunday, let's just think about that and forget about last week.

2 more questions before I retire to my "troll" bridge....LOL..

I thought Jason Taylor was considered by most to be "washed up"? He sure the hell didn't look like it the other day. Dude was runnin around like it was 1999.

    and.

How does this, as a Dolphins fan, compare to the Monday Night Miracle of 2000. I saw that game in it's entirety this past summer on NFL Network ( i remember watching some of it when it happened live, but like much of America, i turned it off towards the end of the 3rd qtr).

The point of this thread was to show two things, can we get back that?

    1) That was a garbage call that the officials blew not once (ref in photo) but twice (review of the play), and the result was 7 points for the Saints, instead of giving the Dolphins the ball back on the 20 yard line.
    2) Ted Ginn deserves a lot of the blame for the way the game went yesterday, but he did show he still has some determination to get up after that play and chase Sharper down to force a fumble.

    Back on topic:

While I agree Ted Ginn deserves a lot of flack for his missed catches, lets not 100% write him off just yet. He seriously had some brass, and some determination to negate his bad play, and I give him props for that. If the Coaches can find a way to harness that and either put him into another position, or build some of his confidence back up and help him with his catching problem, he might still have a purpose on this team.

It's good to see something positive he did Sunday instead of all the negative venom we've been seeing lately. Not that I don't think he deserved SOME of it.

not even close. you are a random nfc opponet. we had a bigger lead on national tv against our most hated rivals.....and blew it. to a tackle elligible. and lost. that and the 60 point blow out loss in the playoffs to JAX to send danny off into retirement imo are the worst 2 losses in dolphins history....:pity:

...I hate you for bringing this up.

But seriously, it doesn't compare IMO. They scored A LOT of points in just one quarter... and it was against the Jets. I hate the Jets. I don't hate the Saints. Actually, I really really hate the Jets.

JT was welcomed back with open arms. glad he'll retire a dolphin. he has already exceeded all expectations.

this doesn't compare to the monday nighter vs the jets. monday nights a bigger stage, and that was a rival game. this game wont be talked about 3 years from now.

you need to get through your skull, no one is claiming conspiracy theories. we got screwed by the refs, by simply bad reffing. this call was an abortion, and thats that.

oh, and take this back to your bridge with your two lifetime play-off wins:
lol...you guys have a third of a good season, and you start chirping.

The New Orleans Saints. Zero point Zero.

I don't know man, Week 17 of 2002 against the Patriots was one of the more crushing losses in recent memory (maybe it's because I was in attendance).

We had the best RB in football and a lead late in the 4th quarter, yet Wannstedt dropped back with Fiedler on 3 consecutive plays in the shadow of our own endzone. Also, only adding to the ****show was Olindo Mare booting a kickoff out of bounds. All the while, about 300 miles away, Brett Favre was laying an egg against the Chad Pennington-led Jets in the Meadowlands, who won the division on that day.

And to think, just two weeks prior (Week 15) we had beaten the eventual AFC representative in the SB, Oakland. All we had to do was win one of the two roadies in Minnesota or New England to clinch the division. Instead, we folded like lawn chairs.

    Brutal.

Another interesting point has been brought up on other forums. Can you definitively say that the ball went THRU the end zone and out of bound, rather than out of bounds BEHIND the pylon (which in effect would have given the Saints the ball at the half-yard line or something).

If you notice, the officials said "it will either be a touchdown or a touchback". The challenge was whether it was a touchback. In other words, it could not have been anything else BUT a touchback. NO "ball on the half-yard line" or whatever. Since no conclusive evidence showed touchback, they had to go with what was called. Same way the refs had to "go with what was called" on that incompletion during the replay malfunction.

Yes, you can. Go watch the NFL.com highlight of it. The ball comes out and gets knocked immediately away from the sidelines.

It's a bad call, period point blank. 7 points of 14 points achieved due to referee error in a game where the final margin was less than 14.

he absolutely fumbled it into and out of the endzone. the ball went no where near out of bounds in the field of play.

its shot out and landed out of bounds 5 or 6 yards into the endzone. go look at any youtube clip of the play.

thanks for getting on topic. this is a good point. but the ball carried forward into the endzone. remember, it was close enough that they thought the ball legitimately crossed the plane while in sharpers possession. it was just an awful call. not the first, not the last.

we don't need a camera..we have a perfectly good ref right there at all times to make those calls correctly..(place sarcasm here).we really wouldn't need a camera if we would implement the college aproach of having a trump ref upstairs that can overturn any wrong doing that happened on the field.what agrivates me is that the refs who make a bad decision like that arent repremanded enough and the league almost always backs the ref up.im sure the nfl network will have that schmuck(sorry,i don't know the man but schmuck is what he stands for)on telling us how that wasn't a fumble with an excuse of why that was a "good call" by the ref on the field.

it's all mute if ginn catches that ball.i'm tired of patting him on the back for the errors he makes up for.if he puts the same great hustle into holding onto the ball then everybody talks about the sideline catch with 2 defenders on him.and this isnt about ginn being more physical, this is about lack of concetration.

the fact, and tragedy of this play is...the refs couldn't pinpoint where exactly he lost possession. so they didn't overturn it. but the fact remains, he did not cross the plain with possession, and that was made abundantly clear sunday. don't worry about where it came out, just look at him crossing the goal without the F'N ball! I mean, he wasn't even bobbling the thing, IT WAS OUT! just a horrible horrible call, to help make it a closer game.

If you take those 14 points away the score is 34-10 going into the 4th. We win the game because we would have been in a run out the clock offense instead of throwing the ball. They would not have gotten that last INT for a TD.

Maybe I've missed something in this thread (very possible), but where is the evidence that it went through the endzone?

I got the impression during the telecast that the refs realized it wasn't a touchdown (how could they not? It was blatantly obvious, as the pictures in this thread show), but couldn't overturn the call on the field because they didn't know whether the ball went through the endzone or out of bounds before the pylon? When they couldn't make that determination, they had no choice but to stick with the call on the field.

Now make no mistake, the SJ blew the call big time. This is all a moot point if he makes the correct call on the field.

That sure is a lot to "assume".

You're assuming that everything else is "equal" in the game, minus 2 scores. That's impossible to do. Ever heard of cause and effect? You're assuming that if the Dolphins had a 27-10 lead in the third quarter, then their playcalling would have been identical to what it turned out to be when they only had a 3 point lead in the 3rd quarter.

Oh, and all that "vaunted rushing attack" , minus one big play, was pretty well stifled...so don't assume yo'ud have just crammed the ball down the Saints's throats as precious time ticked away.

I understand the frustration of being on the short end of momentum-swinging calls (believe me, I've endured plenty as a Saints fan), but playing the woulda, shoulda, coulda game in this case is both arrogant and impossible. Congratulations, your team completely whipped the Saints's *** for 1.90 quarters in the ball game. Unfortunately there were still 2 more to go.

Did We score a TD on that possession? No, it was not a game changing play.
But yes it was a bad call.

    FAIL.

Even after the right call was made there should have been a 10 second runoff, ending the half. Thats 7

Sharper fumbled, thats a touchback, there's another 7

and yes there was holding on that Ricky Run.

as long as we're being honest: the refs gave us a TD and gave you two.
