football is a game. a game. they are all professional athletes. and this douche bag........comes right out and says he wants to hurt chad henne. not hit him, not beat him, not sack him.....but HURT/INJURE chad henne. whata ****ing joke....our team better A. see this B. DO something about it http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/#ixzz0VM6X8W8V
Honestly I don't see anything wrong with it. Other than just a little trash talk. Basically is saying hard but clean hits.
but to say he "WANTS to get him out of there" .......seriously? he wants to put him out of the game....so he cant play football, so he cant earn his paycheck, so he cant beat the best of the best.......bart scott would rather HURT chad henne and play our back up qb......imo its a joke
It depends what he means by hurt. If he means knock the wind out of him thats fine. Make him see stars? Cool. Put him in a neck brace? Not so cool.
Bart Scott-46 total tackles one less than both our inside linebakers...overrated(NO)...pos(YES) Ayogele-25 tackles Crowder-22 tackles
lol ask jet fans if they think hes over rated....... http://www.jetnation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83223
the jets are a joke, their team and entire fanbase have gone from "knowing" they'd sweep us to, praying they don't get sweeped. never seen such unrestricted, undisciplined gum flapping from a bunch of unprofessional, excuse making, over-rated pansies. i think i may make this my sig, so I don't have to keep saying it.
So, 3 weeks ago a few guys on here and FH wished injury to Sanchez...And you are mad because Scott wants to hit an opposing player hard? OK
I don't think it's a big deal. I hate it coming from a Jet and that he's talking about us, but it's just that kind of old school mentality. I actually love it. Football is a violent sport. I'm sure it's more just fun smack talk than anything else. It's just getting in that fun football spirit. When I was playing pop-warner, on the night before the game, we'd burn a dummy with the opposing teams jersey on it and get pumped up and s--t. It was just fun. We didn't actually want or plan on actually burning one of the opponents to death. It just gets you in the spirit. Indeed, we also all wanted and threatened and tried to take the opponents heads off when in the game. That's just football. It just makes you hit a little harder. Look at the old school guys like Butkus or Bednarik etc, etc, etc. Do you know the stuff they would say to opponents when they were across from them on the field? Forget about it! They also would bite each other and stick their fingers in each others faces. : I do love that this comes from you getting pissed about some a-hole enemy of ours. I'm with you there bro! ---- him!
I think both teams are going to be playing their best and hitting hard. Thats what makes this rivalry so good, both teams are going to give their best effort during the game and talk trash leading up to the game. I really hope nobody is purposely trying to injure anyone on the other team. I hope this is another good classic game from this rivalry that ends with no injuries, both teams really need to stay healthy right now.
I seem to remember people wishing him to get destroyed in the hot dog eating contest.......HHmmmmmmmmmmm It could have been the interception contest....... It could have also been the "my coach has the biggest dicky doo" contest. I can't remember. I have a hard time remembering anything substantial about the jests (lowercase)
I don't see what the big deal is with it, heck we have two of the biggest trash talkers in football with Crowder and Porter.
thanks, cant wait to see it.....cause ******s on a message board are actually on the dolphins and can effect the game for real right? finheaven key board warriors wishing injury to a rival qb or a jets linebacker, in the nfl, who has played 1 game in this rivalry saying he wants to put our qb out of the game ya...completley similar. i see it now.
the jest talk so much trash, for a team a game away from .500, that i really cant keep up with all of it! i've never seen anything like it!
In all fairness, one of those fans is an idiot for thinking Scott should be racking in sacks as an inside linebacker. There's a reason why inside linebackers in a 3-4 defense don't have sacks... they are there for pass coverage and run support... of course there is some exotic blitzing involved. You don't see Patrick Willis racking in the sacks.
Dude, when I played, I took it as my solemn mission to hit each and every opponent so hard he forgot his name and begged his coach to leave the field...call it what you want, but to me, that's how you have to play as a defender.
Clean or not.....he's saying pretty plainly that he hopes to injure our QB. You get someone "out of there" by hurting them. There is no such thing as planning to hurt someone in a clean manner....not when there's intention. Saying that you're gonna put some hits on him and disrupt his play or make it a hard day for Henne is one thing. Saying "get him out of there" is basically a threat and if I were the Fins brass I'd make sure the league was aware of this.
i played inside linebacker in hs and college.....i know. but to come out to the media with it, like a badass, when you are guilty of having "bountys" on players in the past.....and when you got owned against this team 3 weeks ago.....thats when its ****in ridiculous
Having that intention is one thing.........advertising that you're gonna hurt somebody is legally considered a threat to do bodily harm. There's no place for that in pro sports and it shouldn't be tolerated.
Any player that sets out to injure an opponent is bottom of the barrel IMO, but I don't think that's what Scott is implying. Let Scott run his mouff if he chooses, he didn't exactly back them up the last time. But I don't think this comment was meant as a threat to Henne.
Well, look on the brightside, he is providing the perfect way for the SparanoPhins to take the Saints loss off of their minds. Thanks Bart, keep talking.
Well then how do you explain "I want to hit him and get him out of there" What else could he have meant by that?
Well, coming off a loss that even Fergie said was "demoralizing" the Jests running their pie holes as well as threatening fellow teammates is likely to produce a "let's kick their asses up and down the field" response. Confidence is a great thing, false confidence on the part of the Jets can be crushing for them.
I don't know of any history of dirty play by Scott, if you have examples I'll be willing to listen. He's a competitor, he plays hard, just like any player out there. The goal for a defensive player is to hit the guy with the ball, and when he does it he wants to hit him hard. It's boasting, nothing more. Just like if Porter were to say that he wanted hit Sanchez into next week, is he threatening to hurt him or is it hyperbole?
The words "get him out of there"......are insisting that his plan is to injure him. I'm just saying.....there's a difference between saying you're gonna make it a rough day for someone, then saying you plan on hitting someone with intent to injure them to get them off the field. Which is the only way I see his statement can be construed
You have to consider the source, he's a loudmouth like Porter, he once told Hines Ward that he was going to kill him. Then Ward proceeded to drill his *** into the ground. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbLNFiQSTyE&feature=player_embedded"]YouTube - Hines Ward Blocking[/ame] Scott is one of those guys that will say anything to make a headline, it's hyperbole IMO. No reason to get upset over this.
I disagree, it's beyond uncalled for. He's a professional on a sports team, not a gang banger threatening a rival gang. Which is what he sounds like... I think it's time the league stepped in and put an end to this kind of stuff before it gets any worse....and I think our FO should make the NFL aware of his comments so that at the very least they keep an eye on the situation. The NFL always seems concerned about their image......well here's a blemish they need to deal with.
Rex Ryan needs to keep his poodle on a leash. Scott is giving our offensive line extra movitation. Remember that last time they didn't touch Henne once. And I sure hope the officials are made aware of these comments. They should be anticipating dirty hits from the Jets. Hopefully we can get some questionable calls to go in our favor.
heh. Dont worry. without jenkins soaking up his blockers, Scott is a nonfactor IMO. The mans a beast when hes got kelly greg, haloti ngata, and kris jenkins in front of him, but that's not the case anymore. I think Bart Scotts got a lot to prove the rest of the season. He hasn't had to play with a subpar NT in years.
Agreed. Tasteless. I do hope Miami dominates the Jets though. Their egos could not take being swept by Miami and having 3 divisional losses this early in the season.
Reggie Bush's rookie season the Ravens played against New Orleans in New Orleans. Reggie got knocked out of the game with a twisted ankle after getting up from a tackle made by Scott. After the game, when they asked Bart what happened, he said while he had him down there he "put a lil' hot sauce" on his ankle..clearly implying he twisted it.
do yourselves a favor and google "bart scott dirty" and check out the patsfans.com message board that comes up......they obliterate scott.....its hilarious.
