So.... The Yankee's just won the World Series. This loud obnoxious fan was celebrating their victory. He was, Brooklyn in the house this and New York the best that, I'm from Brooklyn, I don't give a s**t, B***H, we won the Series. He had a whole lot more cursing and was just being a pompus ***.

Then I ask him if he was a Jests fan. His response, "Hell yes it would be f'ing sweet if they win it like the Yankee's."

I then tell him I am a Dolphins fan and Miami owns thier ***. SWEEP BABY!

He got quite and pale. You should have seen the look on his face and the intelligent words he had for me. I just took his moment from him. That victory last week crosses sportsdom. And to think I humbled one Jests fan. That can not be any better. And to top it off, I am not even a baseball fan!

I only did that because he was being such a douche. Everyone was uncomfortable around him.

HAHAH. I like the Yankees, but only a Yankee fan who is also a Jests fan would celebrate in such an odd way. He probably isn't even from Brooklyn lol.

It was nice to see them win, but I was a bigger baseball fan when I was younger(it usually bores me now), and it didn't feel as special as it did back then in the 90s/early 00s when there were more players who came through the yankees own system. At least Matsui won it for them, I like him the most out of the "new guys" from post-2001.

Would MUCH rather watch the Dolphins win the Super Bowl though!!

I am like a kid at christmas. My Dolphins kicked the Jesters *** this past weekend, my Yankees won their 27th championship in the middle of the work week (greatest sports franchise in North American history and making all the Patsy fans irritated) and my Dolphins now have the chance to destroy those sucker Red Sox/ Patriots fans this weekenxd again. Could be one hell of a week for me

Oh yes we can make the New Englanders week even worse. Now Red Sox fans can't say they've won more recently then the Yankees, since that was pretty much all they had(sorry Sox fans who are also Phins fans!). And the Dolphins can further irritate the Patriots like they did last season and move into 2nd, within a game of 1st, and stay unbeaten in the division!

Lets do it PHINS!!! Get fired up, I am!!

to be honest, i dont think he cares. his team just won the World Series... I mean dolphins won last week, but this moment is 10x better for me as my team just won the championship, dont get me wrong i was happy as hell to beat the jets, but when another team you root for wins a title, you tend to not be as pissed about the other team

And I'm sure they'll buy plenty more championships over the years. Big deal. I hate both of those teams. Worst World Series ever.

Can we please stop with the Yankees "buying the World Series" bull****?

Do some research, the Yankees have more home grown players on their roster than any other team in baseball. Enough with the nonsense already.

Who came through in the Series for them? Not the high priced free agents. The core of the team...Jeter, Rivera, Posada, Pettitte.

You can even include Matsui in there. Since the only MLB team he's ever played for is the Yanks, he's a home grown. :D

Stop trying to piss on our parade. :wink2:

The Lakers and now the Yankees...the Pats might as well go ahead and win the Super Bowl that way the three major sports I follow the most will all have my most hated team in that sport as their champions. :pity:

how did the phillies win last year? we win on average every four years. the fact that we havent won in 8 years prior just made us more due. we have two more victories in the next three years that we need to maintain our average

Well even though I hate the Yankees with an undying passion they did not buy the WS. I say this because they have spent out the behind for years for players and failed to do anything. Now this year although they do still spend like drunken sailors they did get a lot of help from bringing up players the way a respectable organization should instead of buying every FA in the world to buy a WS (the Yanks finally figured it out).

So I can't make fun of their accomplishment because they did earn it the right way. Still that doesn't mean I still don't hate seeing the team win or that I don't still think MLB needs a salary cap to give all teams a fair chance (NY still has an advantage IMO that did help them get this WS but you can't fault them for playing the hand MLB has dealt them).

Now I feel sick for defending the Yanks in any way. :pity:

And the past two years have been arguably the worst (economic wise) in the last 8. And, this offseason just happened to be the offseason the Yankees spent the most money in the history of MLB (Teixiera, Burnett, Sabathia, etc)

The Phillies are a high payroll team as well. They were 8th in payroll last year at about 111 Million.

I'm not knocking the Yankees for doing so, as they owe it to their fans to spend that much if they have it, I'm just saying there's no way in hell a small market team can compete against that.

I liked the bit on SNL this past w/e; it reported that A-Rod's girlfriend might be pregnant, and said that if true, it would be the first time he had ever produced in October.

Hey, the only way the Yankees can win the world series is because their fans make them the richest team. Flat out. They're not making money off oil or some other evil product then spending it on the Yanks. The fans fuel their profits. That's fair.

Huizenga putting together the marllins, well that's buying a championship. That's blockbuster and waste management money right there. Not sure about the second championship though.

Thanks for doing that Pagan, because I was going to reply.

The four you mentioned, plus Cano, Cervelli, Cabrera, Gardner, Robertson, Coke, Wang, Chamberlain, Hughes, etc.

As a Dolphin fan, had they lost and the Yankees won, I wouldn't have cared about the Fins loss. It was almost a picture perfect Sunday for me.

    Dolphins win
    Yankees win Game 4.
Then...........Marshall blows a lead against UCF and loses due to a fumble when we try to ice the game.
But again, I didn't give a rat's behind because of the Yankees win and little bit of the Fins win.

What makes it even more amazing is the lack of attendance they always have......I've seen more ppl waiting in line to get a hot dog at a Braves game, then I have in the stands at a Marlins game.
