Ok, if anybody happens to read this in the next half hour, is it a good idea for me to drop Mike Bell for Larry Maroney this week? I'll need to start one of them. Got Steven Jackson on bye, and don't think I can trust Ahmad Bradshaw this week. So that means start Bell, who might be in the doghouse after his untimely fumble last week, or pick up Larry Maroney who will be facing our Dolphins defense minus Jason Ferguson and Channing Crowder. The homer in me says we'll stuff him anyway. The realist in me says we will be focused on slowing down the Patriots passing attack, and could be down in this game and Larry could have himself a day. What say you guys? Can I get an unbiased opinion?

Edited to add, the reason I say next half hour is that's when the waiver transaction will clear. Feel free to provide your insight after the fact.

I'd play Bradshaw over both those options.

Really? Mind if I ask you why? I'm not disagreeing, just trying to weigh all my options. We are wary of starting Bradshaw due to the foot injuries and the fact that the Giants D has not been great these past few games. I expect the Chargers could get out to an early lead and there won't be enough chances for Bradshaw or Jacobs to make an impact. But the Chargers D isn't great either, so if the Giants do get their act together, I could see Bradshaw maybe not being a bad start.

I'm playing Bradshaw over Royal and Nate Washington.

That prob doesn't say very much, but I think he's a good bet for 5-15 against a very week Chargers D.

If anyone sees this before 1 tomorrow...

I have Kevin Smith, Mendenhall & Ryan Moats for this week available to start. Which 2?

Well, I just think NE is gonna do their scoring thru the air vs. us. Bell is part of a 3-headed rushing attack. Bradshaw gets his touches every game and has done some great things. I was assuming you're in a ppr league too? That was just my gut feeling. The foot injury is good reason to have concern though.

Another tough decision.... I got two open slots (return yards matter!)

    QB Brady
    RB R.Brown
    RB ?
    RB/WR ?
    WR Welker
    WR M. Austin
    TE J.Witten
    K Akers
    Def 49ers

    Possible?

Devin Hester- Been playing well but reports say he may not return punts.

Darren Sproles- Always gets decent points due to return skills

Felix Jones- Similar to Sproles except he gets some GL carries

Mike Sims-Walker- The Chiefs at home?

Knoshon Moreno- Monday night vs Pitt who smothers the run but may find the endzone.

Calvin Johnson- Gametime decision but looking like a go, but how effective can he be?

Mike Bell- Was getting the bulk of the carries when healthy but P.Thomas looked like a better back last week.

...if I put CJ in the lineup as a flex and he is out then I can always throw Moreno in...

    Jesus WTF do I do?

I just cut Sproles b/c he's hardly been a factor all season. I say go with Moreno over Sproles and then Sims Walker in the other slot. Unless I'm mistaken he's the go to WR in Jax. Those guys should be a good options because they're the feature players at their positions on their teams. Go to guys are usually better than second or third option players.

So I'm trying to make up my mind about who to put in my WR/RB slot today. I have to choose from the following:

    Derrick Mason
    Tim Hightower
    Austin Collie
Steve Slaton [supposedly he's not starting today or he'd be the easy choice]

    Edit:
I don't know what i was worried about, they all basically suck. My fantasy team that was putting up 100+ every week like it was nothing is now wetting the bed every week. This will make two in a row and I lost this week to a bottom feeding team. Roddy White and Ochocinco gave me crap, Slaton screwed me losing the starting job, Jay Cutler and Tony Romo are so hot and cold it's ridiculous, The only players I can generally count on to at least get me close to ten every week is Ricky Williams and DeAngelo Williams.

Well put him in I guess. We don't count return yards so he was practically worthless to me.

What do you guys think on Cedric Benson this week? Some reports that i've read said he hasn't been practicing then other reports are saying he's been practicing and probable to start on Sunday vs the Browns.

I have LT vs KC and Brandon Marshall vs NYG(he has Kyle Orton coming back this week) that I can swap out with.

Ok, I have a flex position open. Out of the 3....who do you start?

    Santana Moss
    Roy Williams
    Davone Bess

*sighs* Yeah I know, great choices.

I'd go Bess. Williams and Moss are probably the 2 biggest boom or bust guys out there.

We know Bess have been more involved lately, has a good matchup, and should get you at least 6.

I'd go with roy in non-ppr, but bess if its ppr.

Not that much better. His last game was really good but he's still incredibly inconsistent.

Tell me about it. I was knock out mad points with Gore and Ronnie. Now I got Gore and a bunch of trash. Beanie looked like he was gonna be better for the stretch, but has done nothing in weeks. McCoy should be getting me 10+ per week from catches, but isn't. And Maroney's hot streak ended last week. Luckily I have Kurt Warner facing the Rams and Lions for the playoffs.

If Beanie could catch a ****ing pass he would of already put Hightower on the bench.

McCoy is even more frustrating with Leonard Weaver and that other 3 carry a game dude getting GL work.

DeAngelo Williams @ NE. Roddy White home vs. Saints, Donald Driver @ Chicago

    Is this thread still alive?

I have 5 WRs, can start 2 with one flex (which can also be an RB).

Wayne, Hakeem nicks, Jabar gaffney, johnny knox and brian hartline (homer/sleeper, was last pick in a 12 team 17 round draft).

Wayne and Knox are starting. Flex, I had as nicks. But should I start gaffney? Nicks is playing the Panthers (Smith is #1). Gaffney is playing against Jax, and orton isn't looking bad. All my bench RBs are sorry or injured, so no go there.

But Nicks is a beast, he's easily your flex.

Need some lineup help for Week 1. Thanks in advance for all your advice.

    QB (Start 1):
    Matt Ryan @ PIT
    Chad Henne @ BUF

    RB (Start 2):
    Shonn Greene vs. BAL
    Beanie Wells @ STL
    Felix Jones @ WAS
    Justin Forsett vs. SF

    WR (Start 3):
    Andre Johnson vs. IND
    Anquan Boldin @ NYJ
    Steve Smith (CAR) @ NYG
    Mike Wallace vs. ATL

    Flex RB/WR (Start 1)

I'm considering starting Henne (match-up driven) and benching Boldin (matchup-driven) while giving the flex nod to Felix Jones @ WAS. Thoughts?

Agreed, Hakeem Nicks is the choice here. I don't think he's a "beast" though.

Play the matchup, go with Henne. The Bills pass defense is a question mark with the switch to the 3-4.

Matchups again. Beanie and Felix, IMO. Though Forsett is tempting.

    Everyone except Boldin.

    I'd give Forsett a shot.

I'd start Henne. I just think PIT will try to keep that game at a snails pace without Ben, and with their D they can probably do that. Just not as enamored with Ryan as a lot of people. I'd watch the weather in both games too. Either way it's a rough decision.

Greene and Wells by a lot. Just watch Wells bc he might still be hurt.

AJ and Steve Smith are obvious. The last one is rough. I'd still go with Boldin even though Revis is there. Not positive that Revis stays on Boldin all night and they should move AB around enough to make him effective. Better option in PPR.

That flex is ugly. I really don't like Jones or Forsett without seeing how they'll be used. Weather permitting, I'd strongly consider just starting all your WRs.

Again, PPR or not makes a big diff.

Nicks is a beast as long as he's healthy.

Looked solid in preseason and Eli targets the **** out of him from all over the field. I love that they use him on all kinds of routes. Makes him that much more of a factor in PPR leagues.

I've more or less settled into my lineups, but I'd like to get a second opinion. Current starters denoted with an asterisk (*).

Team 1, 4 points pass TDs, 6 points all other TDs, no PPR:

1 QB: Joe Flacco* @ NYJ, Chad Henne @ BUF
2 RB: Ray Rice* @ NYJ, Jamaal Charles* vs. SD, Arian Foster* vs. IND (flex), Michael Bush @ TEN
2 WR: Calvin Johnson* @ CHI, Dwayne Bowe* vs. SD, Michael Crabtree @ SEA, Lee Evans vs. MIA
1 TE: Owen Daniels* vs. IND, Greg Olsen vs. DET
1 W/R/T: Arian Foster* vs. IND, Michael Crabtree @ SEA, Lee Evans vs. MIA, Michael Bush @ TEN, Greg Olsen vs. DET

Team 2, all TDs 6 points, 1 PPR:

1 QB: Kevin Kolb* @ GB, Chad Henne @ BUF
2 RB: Frank Gore* @ SEA, Cadillac Williams* vs. CLE, Pierre Thomas vs. MIN, Darren McFadden @ TEN
2 WR: Calvin Johnson* @ CHI, Dwayne Bowe* vs. SD, Percy Harvin* @ NO (flex), Jacoby Jones vs. IND, Laurent Robinson vs. ARI
1 TE: Zach Miller* @ TEN, Dustin Keller vs. BAL
1 W/R: Percy Harvin* @ NO, Pierre Thomas vs. MIN, Darren McFadden @ TEN, Jacoby Jones vs. IND, Laurent Robinson vs. ARI

Slightly confusing roster list there, sorry.

No prob. Glad to see the homer in you didn't over-draft Ronnie Brown like half of this forum lol

You def have some tough decisions this week (as most are early in the year), but I don't think one choice or the other is going to lead to a big diff in points.

I'd bench JC for Foster. Without PPR, JC's value is very limited imo.

Benching him will also allow you to start Crabtree in the flex.

I'd also bench OD for Olson. I hate the idea of starting Olson, but I just read that Kubiak is only giving OD 1/3 - 1/4 of the snaps he would normally get, so **** that.

I'd start PT over Caddy. I know the matchup is rough for PT, but he should still catch a fair amount of passes and it's a PPR league. There's also the outside chance that maybe, just maybe, Payton will give PT a gl carry.

    Agree with the rest.

Have to disagree about Charles. He ran for over 1100 yards and 7 TDs last year. I think he'll be fine even in a standard league, though I admit that the San Diego defensive line might not be the best week 1 opponent for him.

    Welp.

JC is also coming off that shoulder surgery and Haley sure looks like he wants to start him back slowly. Crabtree is just a safer play imo. I want to see what they do with JC before I'd start him with confidence.
