Merged 4x **Judgment Day!! Official Patriots VS Dolphins Thread!!**

This is where we have the best chance to get back in the race. A loss here and to even have a chance. we'd be forced to practically go undefeated the rest of the way. A win and we're one game back and heading into the softer half of our schedule, while NE is heading into the harder half of theirs.

A win today is like somebody opening the door for us so wide and forcefully that it comes off it's hinges.

 

it changes nothing really. we still have them another game in miami. we just take care of business after this game and we still have to hope they lose somewhere else in their schedule. but yea, I agree, we need a big win like this and if we lose we are portrayed and the same old dolphins and get no respect.

 

and thats the other way to look at it, this could very well be this teams statement game...it sure will look that way to the rest of the league and media..

It is a statement game. The momentum from winning a game like this can propel a team deep into the playoffs. It really can.

We can lose two more if only one comes from the division. I have a hard time believing we don't get in at 10-6 with a 5-1 division record.

 

Eh, we will see, we were 4-4 at the turn last season, and this year our schedule has been brutal, add in starting Rook Cb's and Chad Henne we are sitting pretty in a way.

As the season rolls along those rookies will just get better and better,

AFC North is a powerhouse this season 979, they will take one wildcard slot down between the Ravens, Steelers and Bungals.

 

I know but we only play head to head with the Steeers, so unless one of the losses is against them I think we'd have a great shot at beating any of those teams with the division record tiebreaker. All three of those teams can't have a 5-1 record or better.

 

Am I the only one who takes an odd sort of comfort in the fact that we're double digit underdogs? The spread is 10.5 points, and taking into account the fact that home teams are spotted 3 points, we're basically picked to lose by two touchdowns.

I actually like being in this position, and find myself oddly confident as we head into Foxboro. I know we're missing Crowder, Allen, and Ferguson. The Patriots don't have Light, Morris, or Taylor, so I think those matchups are kind of negated.

I just feel like we've been built for this game, with one goal in mind - beat the Patriots.

 

ESPN just said we are starting a rookie safety...soo I guess Clemons is starting.

 

It will hurt momentum wise but statistically it won't be over. Yet.

 

You have to like the matchup of JT against their backup tackle.

Can we compete with the Pats like we did with Indy and NO?

If we do win, does it say more of the Patriots fall from dominance or does it say more of the Phins rise?

I know its early to say, but my guess is if we win, the only ones who will give us respect will be the Pats...

 

No, with NE getting spotted 3 pts for being the home team we are really only 7.5pt underdogs. That's not close to 2 TD underdogs.

Few teams could be viewed as capable as we are to actually go up there and come out with a win today. We've came close to beating what i think are better teams. 10 point underdog my ***....

 

The spread was based on our last game it seems...

Offensively we looked anemic, and so the spread... but they are keeping it close to 2 TDs...

EDIT- My guess they are not to sure about NE...
