I think given the opponent and the location this game was a little easier for me to swallow. I'm not sitting in funk like I normally would be. I know we lost. I know we're 3-5. I know we're 3-1 in the division and are only ahead of the Bills due to our division record.

We played tough. The first thing that immediately comes to mind is Vontae Davis. He was in 1 on 1 coverage against Moss on that first drive and what does he do? He comes up with an interception.

I sit here and think of all the drops our WRers had. It's no secret the feelings about Ted Ginn around this board; however, we've drafted two young guys. Hartline had a few key drops, but he's also made big plays in previous weeks. Turner for whatever reason has yet to see the field. I'm not sure the reason, but I believe there is a good one.

I think of our needs at WR and agree that in some way we'll be acquiring one in the offseason. Either via FA or the draft, but here's the thing. If we run the ball like we did against the Colts, and get decent receivers (not necessarily day one guys) I think we can win by TOP, few mistakes, and clutch throws from Henne. I also liked how we used Pat White today. For the life of me I can't figure out why people trash our offense when we do stuff like this. I got responses on facebook such as "What is this, college ball?". My response to that is.. if they've been seeing that since college (and probably earlier) why can't they stop it in the NFL?

A quick look at Joey Porters stats say he's got 12 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 FF and 0 INT. His backups have 11 tackles (Anderson/Walden). Cameron wake has the following 10 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 FF, 0 int. This is probably without today's games stats. In the statistics department Cam Wake is playing just as good as Joey Porter, and he has a few less years under his belt. I'm wondering why he's not in more. There has to be a reason. Maybe he's not good in coverage (he doesn't have any INT's). Maybe because of ST duty.

I've got a feeling we could see a replacement ROLB - or perhaps ILB - before we see a WR. I wouldn't be bothered by it too much. Way too man times today we weren't getting pressure on Brady. When we did we manage to make him throw it away, or throw it where he wasn't comfortable. I do have to mention that I liked how Torbor batted that one pass down. Other than that I don't remember him too much, but that was noticeable.

I think I saw Gibril Wilson fly in from his position and with that speed and hunting ability I can kind of see why this FO brought him in. This week and the past week he has all around the field and I'm wondering what took them so long to use him in this manor. Maybe they don't quite know what they have, but I highly doubt it.

That's all I can think of for right now. Oh. We barley outran NE (24 yards). We gotta do better than that. We also held them to only one (1) throwing touchdown. And we won TOP, but lost the game. This sheet says they threw no INT's, though, and we know that's not true, so take the previous paragraph's information how you will.

I'm just glad Vontae is okay, we would have been screwed if that injury was serious.

folks have been lobbying to keep JT/JP on the field, but we need Roth and Wake out there and then bring in JT / JP as needed ... time to move on ...

worst case Roth/Wake - SOLB .... JT/JP - WOLB ... but some how some way we need to get consistent pressure on QBs

Good Post, I agree, let's see how things shake down after the next several weeks, it has been documented that Miami has the second easiest schedule and NE has the toughest for the remainder of the season. Although it looks like Tampa Bay and the Titans are playing much better ball, so nothing is guranteed.

Loved the Pat White wrinkle introduced today, and look forward to seeing it progress.

I agree with you that Line Backer is an area of need in the future. WR also. Beyond that I very happy with how this team is developing.

This was a tough, physical game and Miami didn't back down.

We shall see how things shake out, coming off a bye week the Pats looked fired up.

Having Pat W out there more was pretty exciting and effective.

Anyone notice we ran the WC/spread to the left a whole lot more than usual? We went away from a lot of tendencies today, and showed a lot of new things for future opponents to have to think about. Like they keep sayin, lots of meat left on that bone.
