A 72 would be a big statement, considering Kick, Morris, and Czonka are the 1970's version of Brown, Williams, and Cobb (Sadly Injured). Not to mention Pennington and Greise played to not make mistakes, got injured early, and had a veteren come in and manage the game *yes, vet is used lightly with Henne*. For the record, I know Henne is a 2nd year Vet and Mora and Morrall were 15+Year Vets.
The Bucs weren't an original AFL team. Did they just wear the orange yesterday for the sake of wearing them?
http://www.realclearsports.com/blog/2009/03/nfl-will-honor-afl-with-throwback-uniforms.html Bucc's are an NFC team, I believe you have to request before the season to do so. The Bucs were honoring the 1979 team
You can only wear one alternate uniform a year (the only exception being the eight AFL teams this year that have home and away jerseys for this year only and a regular alternate). We showed that our orange is our alternate and not a throwback, thus we do not have throwbacks.
I would love to see them wear them again, they looked great when they wore them vs. the Cowboys on Thanksgiving a few years back.
For those who aren't old enough to remember the original aqua jerseys, they were the most unique in the league. They were iridescent. Depending upon how the sun struck them, they would flash to Corral, Aqua or Navy Blue. They were just awesome to look at!
The year we wore the throwbacks on Thanksgiving[2003], we also wore the orange alternates. Did the no fun league change the rules?
