Yeah thus far our bullpen has been a let down. Hopefully, some of these guys settle down and start keeping the game close.
i have directv, what the heck is this Peachtree TV channel that will be showing about 50 Braves games this year??? locally Comcast Cable picked up last nights game, but that doesn't help me.
I was at the game last night and it was pretty nerve wrecking to watch them lose after the comeback. All I can say is I hope Glavine has better nights. He had 101 pitches thru 5 with 50 balls..... It was nice to see him in a Braves uni again though, almost like he never left. I still think they could have spent that 9 mill on another pitcher and got better value. My two cents worth. Lets hope the bullpen can get it together before the Mets come in this weekend. Smoltz vs. Santana on Sunday according to sportsline, should be a good one.
Let's hope they win 2 games before the Mets come to town. They don't need to go into that series reeling from 3 or 4 losses to teams they should have beat.
You nailed it. Coming into the season I thought for sure this was going to be one of the greatest strengths of this ball-club. I sure hope we didnt let the wrong guy (Yates) go.
Yeah, I thought it was kind of funny when Yates came out to pitch on opening night, they crowd booed him?? He wasn't great last year but wasn't as bad as we have had in the past. I mean he is no Chris Reitsma... They'll get it together by the weekend, I hope. Too bad Martinez may be out, he sure as hell is fun to watch pitch live.
Tyler Yates>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Chris Resop And yeah, Pedro is fun to watch. Even is he's only humpin up it there 87-88.
Nobody has the stones he does at 150lbs. I know he is goes behind his player etc... but when he was in Boston he would dare you to dig in. I loved it. I was a catcher and I loved pitchers like that.
Yeah, my everlasting thoughts of him will always be when he got charged by Gerald Williams in Tampa, and when he chucked Don Zimmer at Fenway.
Gerald Williams was good. He forever was messing the Rays. Like I said, he has some stones.... Well, lets see if the Bravos get it done tonight.
Just a quick observation on Tex. The guy is really fighting it at the plate right now. I know its only the 3rd game of the year but he had a horrible spring and its carrying over a little bit. Hopefully he can snap out of it, quickly.
I am sure he'll be alright. He has 20 million a year riding on this season. I bet his is a Yankee next year.
Maybe. But dont be surprised if the Braves break the bank to keep him. And this just an observation, but Tex (although I really like the guy) seems like the type that fold under the pressure of playing in NY. He'll be getting close to A-Rod money, and those fans will kill him if he doesnt produce right away.
Remember in 2005 when they were in first after the break only to be put in their place by Atlanta? That was pretty funny huh?
They needed a game like that. Jurjjens looked good out there. The idea of the number five starter giving us five scoreless innings last season would have been unbelievable. Let's hope this keeps up. I'll be happy to see Xavier Nady leave town.
They just need to weather the storm until Smoltz comes back. Nice to see the bats get going and put them game away. Last year they were not able to put teams away and it cost them.
I really want to go to Sunday's game. My sister's coming to town with her five year old and a baby. That with my two kids is too much for me to try to handle at the Ted. Four kids = fun sucked out of a potentially awesome baseball game. Smoltz vs. Santana they said. I might just disappear and go on my own.
You mean Mr. Glass? Yeah we'll see how that goes. Im not holding my breath, I think turkey season just started.
Braves web page has an article about Skip Carey almost dying late last year, and how sick he still is... was i the only one not aware of this? http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/news/...t_id=2484625&vkey=news_atl&fext=.jsp&c_id=atl
I didn't know about it either. He is like a Braves institution. That voice just goes right along with Leo rocking, Andruw hitting .220, and Chipper nailing some chicks on the side while hitting .320. Hope he can keep doing some games.
Good catch. I can hardly believe that he might actually be playing for his 15 million dollars this year.
