Until they Address the issue we will continue to make it know he SUCKS at wideout... While they deny it and try to sweep it under the rug, we will remove the rug for all the world to see..

Between that video and Deion Sanders video on tackling, I'm not sure which one would be the shortest:lol:

I'm pretty sure the message is received. He has been benched. And yet the bashing continues.

Know what HAS been swept under the rug? How many games our defense has lost. How we can't cover a TE, how we can't generate a pass rush and how our overpaid offensive line has been getting handled the last few games.

In other words - issues that are way more important than a WR that will probably be off the team after the year. All those problems will still be here.

Oh, I know the guys you mention drop balls as well, but are you seriously comparing Ginn to any of those guys?
    Seriously?

Anywho, I honestly feel bad for Ted Ginn the person.
I doubt anybody remembers these moments any more vividly than he does.

    Canada EH!
Is it having his eyes cheating to who is going to hit him, or his eyes cheating to where he can run after he catches it so people won't hit him? Either way he is not watching the ball all the way into his hands, and that is correctable. Assuming he wants to correct it.

He just needs a fresh start somewhere. He came to a team with so much upheaval switching coaches 1-15 record, new coaches, ne schemes he was a project to begin with but in Miami he's not going to pan out as an impact Offensive player or a pure #1.

He is a good special teams player (Over paid for that role) and Im not sure we will get much if anything for him on the trade block. He's not showcased to anyone that hes the MAN.. Maybe Batlimore would be interested or Kansas City.. But for no where is original price.

Also I agree there are TONS of problems on this team but we need to address these now. If we wait next year we will be better but I doubt good enough to make a serious Superbowl push.. So it would be 2 more years to get these pieces in place, and now our D-Line is OLD etc...

Classy DDeb, I sort of feel the same way, he is a pro and deserves some ridicule for his lack of peformance, but through it all I'd like to see him snap out of it and start playing football like he really loves playing football

I think we need a "Ted Ginn survival guide" thread.

    Detailing such things as:

"Surprisingly, Ted Ginn has above average hands*"

*as long as the ball lands around chest level at no less than a 35 degree arc with no defender within 3 yards of him in front, or to the side and at least a 5 yd bubble is required for defenders coming from behind, any less than a 5 yard cushion and Ted will not catch that ball

The video was funny. The sad part is that part! I remember it and it was then that he stopped hitting the holes so fast on returns. Well he stopped hitting them on occassion like he had been anyway...

we'll see. I think this is one of those situations where a players short term play is overriding his career and people are jumping on a few incidents to justify their need to villify players. same in chicago right now with cutler. These are the perfect situations if you are a GM of acting like a vulture and hoping a team panics PR wise and dumps these players cheap. Do you really think the Colts couldnt turn Ginn into a 1000 yard receiver?

We'll see how this turns out but its up to the coaching staff to get Ginn's game going. The skills are there. Its all mental right now. Because if they're incapable of doing it there will be a coaching staff that grabs him and turns him into that 1000 yard producer that we are failing to do right now

This is the Tony Martin situation playing out again all over and I hope we dont panic and let it play out. Fire Dorrell and get someone who can coach

Ok first it was we were using him wrong

Then it was Penny's weak arm

And now that you've seen that Henne's cannon does nothing but expose the fact that he's basically a one trick pony at WR, you wanna fire the coach?

When is anything ever gonna be poor Teddy's fault?

You can't blame the coach for what's wrong with Ginn......no one can force him to grow a pair

Ted Ginn's poor play IS his career.

And Peyton Manning would strangle Ted Ginn within 3 games.

    1) we are using him wrong.
    2) pennington sucked (as well as cleo and beck his first yr)
    3) dont see the one trick pony. he has gone deep, has been used well on the sideline stops, used on slants in the preseason, used on end arounds, used on kick returns. but you're right, he hasnt played QB so he's a one trick pony
    4) never said it wasnt ginn's fault just saying there are many factors just like with Cutler rigfht now in Chicago.
    5) How can you defnd the coach? the whole unit sucks and you are going to sit there and defend the bum. its not the fault of the receivers that the coach sucks. the receivers should take their share of the blkame but so should Dorrell

Well, that's your conclusion, and you're entitled to it.

What I do know is that Ginn represents a far greater percentage of our cap space than his production (not to mention his failings) justifies.

And for all his "danger" as a Returner, 2 TDs every 2 1/2 years is worth the league minimum or a little above that - NOT the $4.7 Million he takes up this year and the $5M he takes up next year.

That's money better spent on a guy like Yamon Figurs plus a gaggle of good prospects.

Thanks for the Vids freestyles. Ginn played with so much heart last year and his rookie year. He wasn't afraid to go over the middle, his hands were great and he was electric everytime he touched the ball. Just look at the run against the Raiders. God, I hope we get that Ted Ginn back soon.

Well you're defending one.......one that I can actually see sucking it up out there. While you're just grasping for the next excuse.

Ted Ginn is what he is, a VERY limited WR that's pretty much useless unless he's catching something soft, falling from the sky. A kickoff or a deep, over the top pass.......like I said, one trick pony.

there's no excuse needed. there is a segment of the fan population overreacting and calling for a players head that makes zero sense. its the fans reaction thats ridiculous not the player. ginn sucks, ronnie brown sucks, vontae davis sucks. its the same argument with a different player. the players turn it around and the fans go to finding some other player to gripe about

    That's BS, adam.....a "segment"?

No....what there is, is a handful of guys left defending him, kinda like the handful of plays he's made in 2 and half seasons.

Putting this situation into the basket with the others you mentioned and calling it fan over reaction is nothing more than scraping the bottom of the barrel for excuses.

The guy is just not a very good WR.....he's just way too limited as to what he offers other than returning kicks.

I have 2 and a half seasons worth of his play to back this up. It has nothing to do with a grudge or where he was drafted or anything other than his play.

if we had four receivers that were better than him on our roster and people were calling for him to be replaced the reaction would make sense. When the roster is bereft of even one receiver that is better the argument is ludicrous. You build a team up by eliminating its weakest players not its best. Granted our linebackers, tight ends and receivers still suck but you're not going to replace all eleven positions in one offseason. The intelligent way to apporach it is get rid of the bottom half, five or six, and see if the others can improve.

You argue that his play is everything yet there is no way to argue his play is worse then Bess, Hartline or even Camarillo. Yeah, they have a higher completion percentage but its about matchups and Ginn is simply more dangerous. Ginn is a threat to score every play. None of the others are. Argue all you want, this is simply the same argument as the Ronnie Brown sucks threads. Ginn will be a 1000 yard receiver in this league either for us or some other team. His hands are fine, his toughness is fine, his routes are fine. He simply needs consistency and the only way to get that is to play

    Well, its a funny thing.
You see, especially with the spread they run, NE wants WR's that can actually catch the football.

    You guys crack me up.
It is evidenced in yhis very video. His hands being crap ISN'T something new this year. Plenty of older footage showing so
    The kid is done.
I imagine he will "catch" on somewhere as a returner and #4 WR, probably the only catching he will do.

Ginn has potential. Notice when he "concentrates" and isn't looking to avoid contact first, he has the potential to be very good. There is evidence of this in almost every highlight in these Vids. In particular the first video he scores a touchdown and breaks 3 tackles. Tedd Ginn was not going to be denied on that play.

That is the player we all hope and now more hoped he could be. Re watch the video's he is looking to avoid contact on almost every single play.

I just wish we could get that "fear" out of him....he would be a different player..........JMO...

Avoiding contact is something I have been bringing up for a year. But its more than just that.
Moss avoids contact, Ginn seems to completely freak out if anybody is even near his space.
Don't know that he could ever overcome, and not sure he has enough tools to compensate.
Perhaps some Ju-Jitzhu or something is something he needs to take up.
