The Bobcats did this strictly to get out from under Okafor's contract; Bob Johnson wants to sell the team. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they turned around and moved Chandler for an expiring contract.
http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...-heats-in-strong-spot-for-2010-offseason.html This is what I was telling you Boik..... The Heat will be the ONLY team that will be able to ADD a MAX AND a 10 mil to 12 mil a year player next season ALONG with resigning Wade.... (This is a blog post about a ESPN Insider piece by John Hollinger) needless to say...I beat Hollinger on this piece by about 3 weeks. go ahead and thank me.
Ok so you guys can get Amare and Joe Johnson along with resigning wade and we'll have to settle for Lebron and hopefully Dirk for just below max since we should have about 38-40M available assuming we can unload Jeffries and Curry. Then use our bird rights on Lee, nate, Harrington and possibly Hughes. I never disputed what you said about the Heat, I dont monitor their cap situation the way you do. But the Knicks will be able to sign 1 Max and 1 near max player as long as the above happens which I am sure it will. Its still not a bad deal for this Knicks fan considering what we've been doing the last half decade which is to say not much at all.
OR WE get Lebron..... and you cannot get a near max player after signing ONE max deal as per Holllinger. You can get a sub max2 player....so you can hypothetically get a Joe Johnson type. Dirk will be a MAX player. forget about Dirk. Your best case scenario is Lebron and Joe Johnson. (Joe Johnson would have to take around 10 to 12 a year). The Heat on the other hand will be able to add a MAX to Wade as well as adding a 10 to 12 mil a year player. yeah...the EC is doomed.
Rotoworld saying the nyk are entertaining sign and trade offers for david lee who says he won't sign a one year contract. They said utah is among the teams interested.
Soo... thought I would bump this since the NBA season is beginning or began yesterday. The Spurs look pretty damn good and they've been my favorites for the title since they acquired Richard Jefferson. I know some will disagree with me but I really like their talent level. DeJuan Blair looks good tonight. I was going to watch the Magic game and forgot lol.
Lakers over Magic in finals. Sorry to say the boldest prediction I can make is the Cavs will finish 4th in the east behind the Magic, Celtics and Heat in that order, ROY: Tyreke Evans MVP: Dwayne Wade

I re-watched the Bulls-Spurs game today on NBATV. Anyone else watch it? Bulls looked pretty good and were dominating the paint, it seemed, which surprised me a little to be honest. I love Noah's hustle but man the guy is lacking smarts out there. The last two years I've watched him and he still doesn't know how to run the pick and roll properly. He gets in the way of things and almost has no instincts. On the flip side, it's great to see Loul Deng back. He is healthy and was shooting lights out from mid range.
Did you happen to see The C's blow them out tonight? Either the Bulls are going to be a up and down team or the Spurs are just a shadow of their former self.
Yeah, I think the Bulls are going to be an up and down team. As for the Spurs, I think they are fine. Did you catch the Mavs/Lakers game? Mavericks looked very good and aggressive. I was impressed.
he was hacking Shawn Marion much of the night. And yeah the lakers were flatter then six month old soda.
Looks like Byron Scott is out in New Orleans: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4648162 He was coach of the year in 2007 and as a Hornets fan I sort of feel this is premature. Well they can just join the Cleveland Indians as a favorite team of mine who 2-3 years ago looked like "young contenders on the rise" to "well WTF happened."
2nd time Scott's been wrongly fired. Dude is a good coach and should be back on the sidelines soon enough imo.
As the only Bucks fan let me assure you that Brandon Jennings is the truth. Dropped 55 tonight on 21-34 from the field, against the Warriors no defense. I haven't been this excited about Bucks basketball since Ray Allen.
Ive discovered the truth about the Byron Scott firing....The Hornets are going in to full rebuilding mode. Theyre looking to give away Okafor in a salary cap dump and my conclusion is that Scott probably was told this and wasnt on board so they canned him. The Kings are discussing a trade that would send Kenny Thomas to New Orleans in exchange for center Emeka Okafor. The move would be a salary dump for New Orleans, as Thomas' $8.7 million is expiring this season. Okafor, on the other hand, is due about $62 million over the next five seasons. No deal is imminent -- Source: Sacramento Bee
Jennings is a lock for ROY barring injury. I would think Flynn would be runner up. Feels so good to have a PG.
Just realized Jennings was taken Tenth for some reason I thought he was taken top 5. What makes me sick to my stomach is we passed on him twice. FML I HATE THE TIMBERWOLVES THEY CAN NEVER DO ANYTHING RIGHT.
That's a stupid trade..how much is Kenny Thomas making?? Blazers should trade outlaw who is an expiring..tho he's probably out for season, not like Kenny Thomas will contribute ?? Posted via Mobile Device
The whole franchise is a mess. They have no depth..who is their fourth best player????? Umm Darren collison? Not to mention the owner is desperatly trying to save money. They have horrible attendance as well. Move them to Seattle oh yeah their coaching situation is a mess Posted via Mobile Device
Tyreke Evans will win ROY imo. Hes going to be a serious problem. Hes as good as Rose was last year but will depended on more heavily then Rose was which will inflate his stats a bit. Over the last 5 hes averaging 20-6-6. As a 6'6" combo guard, defenses are going to have nightmares about guarding a kid who handles like a PG. Thomas is an 8.7M expiring contract. Outlaw is out 6-8 weeks with a fractured 5th metacarsal.
Warriors have dealt Stephen Jackson and Acie Law to Charlotte for Raja Bell and Vlad Radmonovic. Charlotte is desperate for offense I guess
According to Yahoo! Sports columnist Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bulls and Knicks are in serious discussions about a trade that would send Tyrus Thomas to the Knicks in exchange for Al Harrington and Jerome James. "Nothing is imminent, but both sides would like to figure out a way to do this," said one league executive according to the report. The idea of the athletic Thomas playing in the Knicks' uptempo offense is certainly appealing, and if he's on your league's waiver wire he deserves a pickup to see where this goes. Harrington on the other hand, probably takes a small hit in value if he lands in Chicago, but not by much. Source: Yahoo! Sports Related: Al Harrington, Jerome James This runs contrary to a report on espn1050 last night that the Knicks and Raptors are both looking at a swap that would send Bosh to the Knicks and Toronto a few expiring contracts including David Lee.
