i feel like we won, every team in the NFL has a bad game, i mean the Saints almost lost to the Rams today, but as long as they get the W, it offsets everything... There were a lot of pros in this game imo, one being Chad Henne's last drive, yes he did make a mistake, but its a rookie mistake, and he has not made many this year...Bess was clutch today and Sperry was amazing, not to mention Carpenter had a great game! Our D played great too...so to say nothing good to talk about makes no sense, i thought there was a lot good today, but also a lot bad...but ill take the win and be on my way...
We won, and it doesn't matter how. I still walked away with a smile. A win is a win, whether it be by 1 point or 30. Doesn't matter how pretty or ugly we looked.
You think the Saints and Colts felt bad after game winning drives to win on the last seconds????? Ill take the W anyday. We clobbered those teams, and still lost. At least in this game we were in controll for the most part.
This feels nothing like a loss. We were down with a minute and a half left and completely blew the KO return, yet still walked down the field with ease and won the game. This is usally what happens to us, not what we do. This is the NFL, there will NEVER be an easy win.
Crazy talk. Our offense needed to score to win the game and got it done in the clutch. No dropped passes when it mattered. Proud of this team. Posted via Mobile Device
things got pretty grim for us and we still pulled it out. these are games that define the type of team you want to be. So far, we have yet to lose a game to a team not heading to the playoffs it seems.
Agreed!! And had it been Dan Marino leading that last drive, fans would have called him the comeback king. Let's give Henne the credit he deserves for that last drive, and forgive the rookie mistake earlier. As noted in other posts, all rookie QBs go through their "initiation," so let's give him a break...
I thought the Bucs got jobbed on that call but no worse than we were jobbed in the Saints game. Other than that there was plenty of good. I continue to like what I see from Henne and RW. I'm happy that we actually attempted some deep passes this game. Even though they weren't completions I believe they were part of the reason that our running game had more space. I like what I saw out of the WC. We executed better and we got some good yardage out of it. If I were really optimistic I would think that it would mean the end of those ridiculous threads claiming the WC is dead but you can never under estimate the stubbornness of the ill-informed. I like that we got improved pass pressure this game. Anderson and Wake should have earned more snaps and Porter should be very motivated come Thursday.
Cam Wake continued to apply pressure every single time he came into the game. He then continued to be placed on the bench afterwards.
liked certain aspects of the game. really disappointed about how our defense always seems to get significantly worse in the 2nd half. There are certain flaws and holes that cant be improved until the offseason but there are certain things that should improve this season
As Nat Moore said during the preseason...Cameron-Wake Dude is just an assasino, and fun as can be to watch play. Steve Slaton fumbled on the 1 yd line with the go ahead score, the Colts fans are not denigrating themselves because of it....
Couldn't agree more. All season we've lost close games because we can't move the ball when we needed to. They did that yesterday. To me that was the biggest positive almost all season. Sure it was against the bucs, but to me we caught passes without drops. Henne made good decisions, our guys didn't take any penalties, we managed the clock well and Dan came through with a clutch kick. Those other games where we lost on the last drive of the games wasn't because the Defense was good, it was because of our mental mistakes such as penalties and dropped passes. To me yesterday we showed growth and prob. gained huge confidence on how to run a last minute drive. That is experience we'll need the rest of the way.
OK, I give up. Everyone is right in that beating a 1-8 team in the last seconds is FANtastic. We played a flawless game and were GREAT. Our game was a work of art, and we should now look for playoff tickets. TB's record is very deceiving, they could easily been 2-7. BACK TO REALTY. To me, this is not acceptable but, what the hell do I know. Think Sparano and Tuna are happy with this win? I don't. and I am NOT.
Do I think we should have won more heftily over Tampa? Yes. But lets face it, they made an adjustment at QB, and have a new QB who we haven't seen a lot of looks from, and who beat a Packer team that is honestly probably about at our skill level right now. A simple change to QB and Tampa is no longer the laughing stock of the NFL. They're not a respectable team, but they definitely can surprise you. Factor in the fact that we lost Ronnie, had a backup playing WOLB, a backup playing LG, a second stringer and a backup playing the two TE positions, and we got gashed by a TE for the second half like we ALWAYS do, and you have your reasons as to why we had a close game. I mean seriously, we got attacked the same way every team has attacked us, to the TE over and over again all day long. At the end of the day you need to realize that any team in the NFL can step up with any other team in the NFL given the right circumstances. We saw those Sunday. But it managed to pan out in our favor. Be happy about it and go have a beer to calm those nerves
He's got one move and that's to bull rush. Not saying it's not a good bull rush, just not sure he could keep that up all game long......hence the splinters
We should have beat the Saints and we should have beat the Colts, we were dominating 2 teams who both now sit at 9-0. Thanks to Coach Belichick ffor the gamble. It looks to me the Patriots got the first down, but the refs marked the ball short. We basically stole this game from the Bucs, as Henne and Brown nearly gave the Bucs the win... We need to play with more confidence and hopefully wins and close wins does that. We played well against the Colts and the Saints, so we are a few pieces away, but we have to take advantage of the opportunity. d-1
It was the Bucs. We barely survived a game against a really bad team. We lost our best player for a while. But it was a win. That is what it is. Bring on Carolina.
I will take an ugly win over an ugly loss any day. If we had lost to the lowly Bucs now that would have been ugly.
