Armando isn't buying it, however. http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolp...ortensen-porter-not-playing-anytime-soon.html
Hmm...I sort of buy this one, and not for some B$ that happened on Friday but rather because Anderson and Wake were so productive if JP sits now we can see what Wake and Anderson have heading into the next player acquisition cycle.
we got decent play form our OLBs this weekend ... so why not keep it that way. Anderson was a bit of a surprise .... but both Wake and Anderson need to take the inside route every now and then ... it got to the point that the QB knew where they would be and just stepped up into a huge hole.
Considering the guy who replaced Porter last week managed almost half of Porter's season total (5) and the same in terms of sacks (1). Hard to bench that guy, for someone who has shown barely anything for 4 weeks.
That was morts speculation he threw in there. I tend not to always believe him when he speculates. I dont think porter will get a lot of playing time but believe me, he will play.
In Joey's interview on aquavision, he said he was already over the Tampa game and ready for Thursdays game. And coach said he would be back today and he was. So, I wonder what, if anything, is going on?
The same Mort who said Ronnie would be traded and Pat White would throw a lot. I take everything he says with a grain of salt. However, I do hope he's right. Porter just isn't right. He pulled his hammy, and now has a knee injury. With the way Wake, JT, and surprisingly Anderson have played, it's probably best if Porter fully heals. Also hope to see Roth come into his own as well.
Take it for what its worth, but I heard something on Sirius NFL radio the other day about Porter being out late either Friday, or Saturday night, and may have made some other "bad" & "personal" decisions for the team. That, combined with his lack of production is what lead Sparano to put him on the bench. I'm 99% positive thats what I heard Pat Kirwan say. I caught the tail end of the piece on the radio about it, they were just chatting with a caller. Not sure if its a rumour, speculation, or whatever, but thats what im pretty sure I heard.
No, I read in the Miami Herald that Joey would not come out of the Patriots game when Sparano called for him to come out and that Porter acknowledged that he should receive some sort of punishment, so he was placed on the inactive list. That's what I heard... or better said, read. d-1
it's also the same mort who said steve spurier will be the next dolphins coach and matt jones would be a perennial probowler. you have to take anything that comes out of espn with a grain of salt.
I think the return of Matt Roth could be part of the problem, the two main rumors that I have heard are that he was out late Friday night, and that he "wasnt happy" about sharing time on teh field... With Roth's return he will start to play alot of snaps on running plays at teh SOLB spot. That means that JT and Porter may have to rotate while we also find snaps for Wake...
