To me, this is one of the better predraft mocks I've seen, though Tuna's head would explode if we took a Wr at #10, not with Cody on the board.

I think if any of the NTs or LBers are there that are projected high we take them over a WR.

I like Soliai, but depth at the position is key, and I'd rather see our LBing corps get upgraded before WRers.

Not sure about the Lb's gapper, Crowder is locked up long term, Wake and Roth have a ton of potential and JT wants to play another season.

But a stud NT? I could see them doing that in a heartbeat, if Cody thought lil Nicky's training camp was brutal, come down to Camp Sparano...

I think we could use an upgrade at ILB and move crowder over. Have someone better play the primary spot and him play the other role. Keep the OLB's we have, and maybe (depending on how they view JT at the end of the year) draft an OLB for the future. If his production continues on its current pace I say keep the OLB's, but still think that we need an upgrade inside.

    Agreed on NT.

I would for picks 5-6 and 13-16 to happen.

I think all the guys at those picks would be drafted waaaaaaaaaaay to early, which means more talented players could drop to rd 2.

I do as well, it is not that Akin A is playing poorly imho he is having a pretty good season, however 2 Ilb's consider worthy of the first round, they may decide the value play is to take a Lb a bit later in the draft.

But three NT/DT types that consistently have Rd #1 grades is very rare.

Interesting they have the Jests finishing 4 spots better than us :pity:
    And Jax :pity:
I could actually see us doing that. Dez in the draft is what I mean.

Okung to the Raiders is far too logical for the crypt keeper.

Well it's Ireland's draft and his key values are LT, CB, QB .. we already have them .. and pass rushers (long term debatable) and playmakers (definitely needed).

I could see WR, but kinda hope we don't go that route.

We have Wilson and Bell locked up long term but to me we can use a playmaking Safety, just a ballhawk.

As for offense, TE and Wr and maybe Rb as well as Guard stands out to me as need type positions.

Haynos is a solid #2 type of Te, Wr in the sense we need a more consistent deep threat and Rb because Cobbs has the ACL and Guard because Smiley cannot seem to stay healthy.

Not yet sold on him at NT. Too much time on the ground for me.

I think he's right with the analysis but I question the pick. The Ravens have been wanting a WR who can stretch the field with pure speed since February/March but haven't gotten it. I'm not sure Benn fits that description.

If he's going to be playing in Pittsburgh, he's going to need to add some strength on that already 325 pound body. He's also going to have to be a bit more consistent IMO.

I could see Jared Odrick in the first or early second. He looks very good. I have been watching tape on him against Michigan tonight. Speaking of Michigan, Brandon Graham looks very strong at shedding blocks and he's quick off the edge. He plays very heavy IMO. Though I don't think he's a first rounder because I think teams will knock his height and how much room he has to grow. Has he reached his potential yet? Could be something similar to what Adam was saying about Chris Long a while ago. Last, no Jerry Hughes in the first? Forgot to add Navarro Bowman. He looks good IMO. Just needs to put on some weight.

thing of it is Alen, there always players who rise during the predraft period, and of course those who fall, Draft Darwinism is just a fact of life in that process.

    I like B Graham.

Dez Bryant would make me very happy if we don't get a true number 1 in FA.

If we don't go WR in FA then I hope Bryant falls to us. IF we address WR then I hope McClain or Spikes is there.

Im a pretty big fan of both Bama prospects in McClain and Cody.... And would not be upset if we took either. As much as I like Bryant, Im not sure I want a 1st round WR....

Right now I would take(and this is if we pick 15-20 which is where I think we will end up)

    Rolondo McClain
    Terrence Cody
    Brandon Spikes
    Jermaine Gresham

Alen and I have discussed Cody at length on another site, but I would like to see him down to about 335 pounds and I think he would be even better than he is which is scary.

Bryant is going to be a very dynamic Receiver I think the chances of him being a bust are very slim IMO he has all the tools to be great. If we went out and got Boldin then I would want a ILB. I wonder how well Cody could last when a offense has long sustaining drives?

Key for Cody might come down to the interview IMO. Lot of doubts that he's gonna have to sweet talk his way out of, no pun intended.

I could see Sparano taking Cody if big Vince isn't resigned by NE just so BB can't get his grubby hands on him. See Pat White. :shifty:

if we don't secure an offensive playmaker in FA or trade, then I really feel the 1st pick needs to be Dez, Gresh, or Spiller in that order. IMO we cant pass up on talented offensive players only to be left holding our weenies.

On defense I'm still for McClain, Derrick Morgan, Spikes, Hughes. Berry-McClain would be a tough decision for me. I wouldn't mind having Joe Haden if our board was clear. I'm sure we could find a use for him. (still need to see more of the DTs though)

Ciron Black might be worth watching as a potential 2nd round RT/G prospect, allowing Carey to move inside if needed and providing a solid back up LT if Long ever gets hurt. :dunno:

Aren't these the idiots that "reported" that Brian Cushing and Clay Matthews both tested positive for steroids, and then when everyone called BS on them (and it was BS) they stupidly dug in and stood by their report?

Regardless of your speculation, Cushing and Matthews did NOT test positive for roids, which means that NFL Draft Bible lied, and then stuck to their lie. As I recall, they didn't even report it as a "rumor". They reported it as fact.

Re: Benn- I don't know, he seems pretty fast to me. It's going to be interesting to see where he ends up going in the draft. I'm curious as to how you rate the WRs- seniors and juniors who look like they might jump this year. Who would you take in the 1st? 2nd and 3rd? How do you feel about Demaryious Thomas? I'm still thinking that Benn and Thomas fit for us- we could very well have Ginn on our hands for 2 more years to fill the pure speed role, but I do like Benn and Thomas as go to guys. Gilyard and Mike Thomas seem interesting, but I haven't seen enough to have a worthy opinion.

If the draft ended up like that, after we got D'Qwell Jackson & Owen Daniels/Tony Scheffler in the offseason.....I'm all for talking about a trade-up with one of those teams at the top of the second so that we can also land CJ Spiller or Jerry Hughes:lol:
