Kick off at 8:20 or so, at Bank of America Field. In an odd quirk...our leading sack artist JT and leading Rusher, Ricky Williams, both led the NFL in 2002.
Jt!!!! c'mon baby...don't be doing that to the other Yanks fans here. Keep the pride!!! We will win this week though!
Steve Smith was in a minor car accident prior to the game...apparently he will still start. I'm not going to lie, I was hoping it'd make him inactive for the game. I'm glad he's OK.
Hey guys I will be here to keep up with the game since I will be working. I am going to NFL.com and go to gamecast to keep track of the stats. Let's hope for a win tonight!!
Inactives: Dotson is a surprise, especially with Soliai being inactive as well. Kory Sheets is active tonight he is one heck of a kick returner
A number of years ago my buddy bought me a replica Ricky Williams jersey. I loved it. Williams, at the time, was in the midst of putting in back-to-back gigantic seasons for us as a Miami Dolphin. Then he retired, abruptly, before the start of the 2004 season. I was crushed. Feeling jilted (as we all did), I took the unusual step of "retiring" his jersey - though I kept it as a reminder to not idolize players any longer. I haven't worn it since. Flash forward to 2009. We're about to take on the Carolina Panthers and Ricky is now our starting running back for the foreseeable future. As I was changing into my "game clothes" after work today I spotted that old #34 in the back of the closet. Like Williams, the jersey is older. Like Williams, the jersey has seen a lot of use and abuse over the years from yours truly. The numbers have started to flake off a bit and some of the threads are unraveling. Still, as I pulled it out I thought "why not?" and hesitantly slipped it over my usual lucky shirt. Amazingly, it still fits after all these years. I feel so optimistic. Like I've been redeemed. Who knew an article of clothing would make you feel so good? Ricky goes for 150 tonight, write it down.
Once the "high-ankle sprain" was announced I was expecting to play this game without Ronnie Brown...and I think the team was preparing and saying "ok, one game, lets step up for him".......so I was thinking Dolphins can overcome and really produce and walk away with a Win. But now with the news that he is IR and done....you would have to think that the team ~ while wanting to rally ~ feels a bigger weight on their collective shoulders and feels the HILL just got a whole lot Taller! I hope we pull off the W tonight and then let the chips fall where they may...but a L tonight would be a MULTIPLIER on the attitude of this locker room and team to overcome. Hope they step up and pick up the slack...but the news this week makes me alot more nervous beyond tonights game.
Should be a good game. Will be interesting to see how Ricky does. Also want to see how our Pass Rush does. With Jordan Gross out, I want to see a lot of Cam Wake.
Couch... check! remote control... check! NFLN on tv.... Check! thephins.com... check! Phins jersey on... Check! Cold beer... Check! Ready for a Dolphins victory... CHECK!
KimBo owner the Big O on the pregame show. Big O was going on and on and on about "waahh...taking Henne out of the game to run the WildCat hurts his development..." Kimbo pointed out that "gee BigO, even if he was still in the game he would just be handing the ball off on a running play" BigO mumbled a bit, waited for Kim Bokamper's segment to be finished, then started back up again..
As good as a Tirico, Gruden and Jaws have been is as bad as Millen and Whomever were last week. NFLN needs to upgrade the announcing crew.
Looks like Patrick Turner is dressed out in full pads. Do we see him take an offensive snap tonight!!??!
Was just about to mention the helmet. Dolphins won't be happen til the whole squad looks like Halo extras.
I was watching NFL Network and Marshal Faulk was talking about Ted Ginn possibly being the new motion guy in the wildcat, replacing Ricky Williams as he replaces Ronnie Brown taking the snap. That would be interesting.
It appears the game isn't being played on basic cable here in west palm... this is really going to make me mad
